Why should rvd get a main event push?

Why put RVD in the main events......

I have it! Maybe they should put him in the main events because he is the #2 most over superstar at the moment.

Is that a good enough reason? I think so.

So that would make them tied.

And Eddy vs. RVD ladder match from Raw ruled...so we'll see what Edge and Angle do in the cage.

If its not as good...shouldn't RVD go back to the top of the list?

No, haven't you figured this out by now? Edge can do NOTHING wrong. If that cage match is sub-par, Angle will be blamed. (See Regal, William)

Just wait until Edge vs Triple H. If that sucks, or if the crowd is behind Edge, he will be feuding with Mark Henry {See Jericho, Chris}.

Oh hush.

Angle is a Wwf boy too.  If anyone is getting blamed it will be the Wcw referee...

Edge has been a Wwf boy longer, that's all.

RVD is over and over huge. and thats what matters. give him back the whole f'n show or mr. monday monkier and u have huge t shirt sellers. i can't remember the last time i didn't like an RVD match. he is definitly fresh enough that it'd be interesting to see him in the main event, and yet still unique enough that i want to see him in the main event. whats more thrilling of a finisher, a 5 star frog splash or a pedigree? people talk about pushing edge as a top face, RVD is 10x more over. i feel edge is more or less shoved down our throats, while they've depushed RVD a ton (main eventing no mercy -> wrestling goldust at nwo) and he is still massively over. WWE needs a new mega face in rocks abscense, and rock was pretty bad at the beginning of his main event runs, so i don't think theres any reason not to push rob to the main event. get the IC title onto booker with heavy nwo interference and u have an equally over man with the IC strap and someone else free to be in contention for the world. Booker is going to be huge by the summer, RVD can be huge now. marks like him, and the smarks seem split on him. thats more than plenty reason to push him.

ooh...I'm glad that you brought up the tshirt thing.

RVD is over huge...and yet hes got what...1 shirt...and thats it.

I think the WWE is making a mistake there...

They and RVD could be making some phat cash IMO.

oh yeah...the fact that he has been consistently one of the most over faces in the company without the push (as of right now I'd put him behind Austin and Hogan only...with Rock out)...should pretty much end the discussion.

silly rabbit. why buy an RVD shirt when you can have one of the ten uh HHH uh shirts uh with an iron uh cross UH!

Top 3 Faces:

Austin

Hogan

RVD

Who gets the title shot at KOTR again?

RVD has at least two shirts. There's the "Whole Dam Show" one and the new one. Currently HHH's shirt is outselling Rob's but HHH probably had Shane conspire with Shopzone to hold down Rob's Tshirts.

and I don't think RVD has been any more over than HHH the past few shows, especially the RAW when he "won" the title. If we go by pops Hogan should be champ.

We weren't counting chants that were piped in over the loudspeakers.

Again...there is more to being over than the pop your music gets.

Listen to the crowd during a HHH match compared to an RVD match.

Even during a match it's not that much different.

It really is.

HHH matches have long lulls of silence.

And the fact that you even see it as being close says alot considering one guy won the Rumble, the title at Mania, and is Main Eventing the next ppv...and the other guy is a midcarder without that kind of push.

It has to make one wonder what would happen with that kind of push.

Returning and winning the Rumble was good but that title win at WM didn't mean much after the awful build up. Everyone weeps for Jericho but during that time the booking was bad for HHH too(well, it was bad for everyone actually). It didn't help that after winning it he defended against a woman, dropped it to a face more over than him, then fought a heatless Jericho in a meaningless thrown together HIAC and is now involved with the champion of heat known as Test.

But RVD would probably do well with that "push", sure. I am all for pushing him. He's cool and fresh. I am disappointed HHH is getting the shot. But I don't blame HHH and I'm not going to be angry over him getting the shot(he is over enough and has an issue with UT). HHH/UT makes sense.

Don't kid yourself. Hogan is over.

He is. I was talking about Triple H.

There is a difference between a main event push, and a main event spot...

HHH, Austin, Rock.  Are basically the only guys who have a main event spot.

Hogan and Taker are too 'volatile' to be put in this category.  Hogan hasn’t much time left and Taker always has an upper level feud, but doesn’t ME often and is hardly a figurehead for the Wwf to promote.

Angle, Jericho, and Benoit are the next three to get a ME spot.  Rvd is not.

I guess the main distinguisher is consistency, exposure, and value of wins.  RVD beat Austin, he main evented NM, but by no means is he a main eventer.

The question is should RVD get a ME push...no...he should get a ME spot, and I will explain why...

The Wwf fan is getting fed up with the illusion of change that the Wwf puts on.  The split, for example, is not working because there is no real change, there is no real split.  And every time they try and tell us there is, we are insulted that they would think we would believe their bullshit.  Had this been a different time or place, maybe, we could have believed it.  But this is after the inVasion.  Our eyes are open.

If RVD got a quick push to the top, and came back down, what would the Wwf fan think of him then?  That he couldn't cut it?  That the Wwf isn't sure about RVD and therefore they should not be either?  I know quick ME spots will ruin a wrestler, too much/too fast, however, the Wwf fans needs fast very much...if that makes any sense at all.

RVD symbolizes a new generation, where Angle/Jericho/Benoit were gradually elevated and integrated, RVD can be the wild card.  Where they are like HHH and the Rock, RVD could be (or have been) like Austin.  But no, that doesn’t fit in with the Wwfs agenda.  They have a system of who they push and when.  RVD was too much for them to overlook, but not enough for them to change that system.  He was put up and put down quickly and was hidden ever since.

Again, I am not a real big RVD fan, but I am a fan of change and that is what he represents.  A change in pace, a change in style, a change in character.  If he doesn’t cut it on his own at top, so be it.  It will be his learning experience as he has been used to being the superstar for years now and this might humble him and might tell the fan caveat emptor and they will think more in choosing a favourite.

HHH has piped in chants? Source?

*points to Steph's vagina*

That's source enough.

Plus, when RVD was getting super-over HHH edited out his chants... because he KNEW he wasn't more over than Rob.. c'mon... get with it.

LOL!!

In fact, RVD has TWO shirts!  Yes, TWO!  His "Whole Dam Show" shirt (which I PROUDLY own) and his "Whatever" t-shirt.  Plus, a Ying-Yang/Dragon necklace!  That added in with his thumbs for the shows... makes what?  4 items?  That's the way to get money off Rob, WWE!... *rolls eyes*

I remember this. I don't recall it ever being reported that it was HHH himself that was doing it and nobody could ever tell me WHY he would want to in the first place.

I had a conspiracy theory about that back in the day.

It was all in the way I added up facts...so I'll present the actual facts of the case.

1.  RVD lasted 2 minutes in the Royal Rumble after getting pedigreed by HHH.

2.  HHH won the Royal Rumble and was headed to the main event at WrestleMAnia, the biggest show of the year.

3.  The next night on Raw RVD curtain jerked in a 6 man tag with Spike and Tazz vs, Booker and the Dudleys...his pop was HUGE.

4.  Later in the show HHH came out to interrupt a Jericho promo...to considerably less pop despite winning the rumble the night before.

5.  That same weeks pretaped Smackdown brought about the first reports of pop editing during RVDs matches...a story that was relayed by every major new site...after fans at the smackdown show (and every smackdown show leading to Mania) claimed he was getting the biggest pops...but on tv they sounded like nothing).

Those are the facts.

The way I tied them together was that it is never good for the guy going on to main event wrestlemania as a face to be getting outpopped by a midcarder.

And another fact to throw in...

6.  Ever since that Royal Rumble...HHH and RVD have not been anywhere near each other on tv.

Guest Sakura

RVD is going to get bigger pops even if they edit them(for the people at the live show). Anyone that could push RVD and depush HHH would hear it and know that they are being edited. He can't secretly go into the control room and force them to edit pops without the writing team and everyone else knowing. There is no reason for HHH to do it.

Ever since that Royal Rumble RVD hasn't been near Austin, Rock, Angle, or any other main eventer. He wasn't just seperated from HHH, he was depushed completely.

Guest Flyboy

So, RVD IS just another Conspriacy Victim.. shame, shame.

That's not his point...

His point is HHH is RVD's Kryptonite.

you have your version...I have mine.

Either way its better than "points to Stephs Vagina"

It all goes in the overall file of "RVD is HHHs kryptonite".

Nothing can kill his pops so HHH doesn't know how to make him go away.

Why do you think that HHH was so adimant about Jericho turning heel and getting the title while he was out with his quad injury?

jobbing wasn't killing Jerichos pops as a face.

But HHH sure killed him as a heel.

Actually that's pretty normal for newer guys. I remember when the Rock was making his big move he only had one shirt despite being #1 or 2 on the overness chart, while there were about 100 Austin and DX shirts at the time. Obviously they made more later.

Oh I don't disagree.  And I didn't mean it to be a holding RVD down thing...just that the WWE was missing the boat a little IMO.

I started this thread to question the WWF choice to elevate RVD to main-event status when there are other workers who are perhaps more worthy of the push.  Can somebody explain to me how it turned into another HHH conspiracy thread?
