Guest Dam(o)nYankees Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 He'll only get better with practice!!! Chris Benoit begs to differ. "It doesn't matter to the WolverEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!"
Wrestlefreak Posted January 20, 2006 Author Report Posted January 20, 2006 What's Chris Benoit got to do with it?
Guest Dam(o)nYankees Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 What's Chris Benoit got to do with it?It was an example. People who give bad promos tend not to just get better.
Wrestlefreak Posted January 20, 2006 Author Report Posted January 20, 2006 So your saying that you can't learn to cut a good promo? it just has to come naturally?!!
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 The thing is that Benoit used to cut some decent promos in ECW...but that was thanks to the magic video editing. Most people that can't cut good promos don't just learn how to get better. It takes a worker either finding the right niche or just being naturally gifted to cut good promos.
Guest Dam(o)nYankees Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 So your saying that you can't learn to cut a good promo? it just has to come naturally?!! More or less. It's something you're either good at or you're not.

Ripper Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Okay, I just saw a match with Shelton and his MAMMA. Is that fucking Thea Vidale? What the fuck? I personally can't remember ever seeing in WWF history them using a known actor to play a role. They have officially shattered and buried kayfabe forever with this one.

Kayfabe is a flavor-of-the-week thing for Vince...sometimes he tries to force its existence, sometime it disappears.

It's something you're either good at or you're not. Were The Rock, Ric Flair, Jim Cornette, Steve Austin or countless others cutting money promo's their first time out?

And we know kayfabe is dead with this silly dress code, guys like JBL should be in suits, but Benoit just would look funny dressed up

It's not Shelton's "first time out". He's been in the company three years. When The Rock hit his two year anniversary, he was doing well enough to be WWF champion, and by the three year mark, his money promos had already made him the #1 face in the company.
