KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2006 I think I covered for no Rodez/Black match pretty well. Both Anderson Cup matches were good (Tony's I liked more, though), Alf's squashes did their job and all the promos were good (though the whole "dressing as your opponent and making fun of them" thing is really getting overplayed lately in wrestling). A bit weak compared to last week's show, but next week should lead us into AP on a high note.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2006 The SAG bit had me in stitches. Hilarious joke. Hilarious to me, of course. Is anybody else out there as big a mark for the fist drop as I am? Anyway, enjoyed the opening AC match. Maybe my AC comments last week had an effect on Alf. Deliver or else! Okay, maybe not. Good SJ promo. Found the devil line to be a strong message to his foes. His writing style takes me back to the early days of the OAOAST. Calvin and SJ a team? Hmm... Ooh, we adressed the presence of "invisible camera," with PK kicking the cameraman out. The OAOAST cares about the little things. The team of Daniels and Beam can be to Krista what Los Diablos are to Alix. Like the finisher Team Heyross used. The interview podium is sweeping the nation. Zack Malibu is on the war path. One intense interview, especially towards the end. Pretty good X-Title rematch, the first of which I didn't read (must've been added later). Wild NRG promo from Patty. New valet, huh? Short and sweet. Another Jumbo ass-kicking. PR may have signed his death warrent with his actions this week. Like PK, I agree that the dressing up as opponent gimmick is overplayed. That and GMs/DOAs, moreso that than anything in real world wrestling. PK did a good job coming up with a reason for no ME this week. For all we know The Upstarts had something to do with Rodez' no show. A witty subtitle probably would of bumped the show up a couple of notches. MOTN: I'm not one to put myself over, but I gotta give the MOTN to the Lone Star Gunslingers-CW/Bo match. It certainly was longer than any other match so I think it helps edge it out over the rest. Rodez-Black probably would've been MOTN had it happened. LOTN: "You, however look to be made out of the pooling puddle of piss and semen next to the toilet inside the center stall of a homeless shelter's bathroom." -- Flex

Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2006 Bit of a skimpy show, but it was still pretty good. Cuban Wall and The X-Man are a really funny team. I look forward to the day when Wall expresses all his thoughts by punching X in the face as opposed to speaking them out, just to save time. Even if the thoughts and ideas that have nothing to do with the B&B tag team he'll still punch X to express them. He’s actually been an outcast all his life. From elementary school to the OAOAST. He’s always been like this, this is just the first time you’re seeing it live on HeldDOWN~!. You should feel sorry for him. That's coming on the deep. PRL surrounds himself with these lackeys in the Lightning crew, so he'll no longer feel like an Outcast. But nothing will ever quell the torment that's stuck with him since childhood, so he lashes out at society and those who are accepted by it. And because of feelings of emptiness and his lack of a sense of belonging, he becomes highly sensitive to the betrayal of his former allies. These men said they were his friends, but they lied, and they made him feel even more alone. That's deep for wrestling. PRL is the tragic figure in our little morality play. Is PRL really the bad guy or is it the culture that created PRL? Deep. I haven't watched a televised wrestling show since WM 20, so dressing as your opponent is fresh to moi. I only remember DX doing it to The Nation, and Triple H did an awful impression of The Rock. He just talked in his normal voice. Take an acting class, you douche! Good AC matches. I was like WTF are The Gunslingers when Tony wrote up the brackets. But that was a real sweet match. Very well written, Big Teezy! Tony, The Heavenly Rockers always have their name written in Dodger Blue, not Lawn Green! I did like the Pale Violet for Los Diablos. I see the Sooners more as an Indian Red then a Firebrick Red. We can talk about it though. I also laughed at the SAG bit. That is educated man's humor, and I am an educated sort. The breathalyser sign was pretty funny also. Anyway, the personality conflict between O'Hara and Parka is interesting. Parka's a pretty straight laced character (aside from the skull mask) but O'Hara obviously isn't. They should go to diversity training or something. The Calvin bit at the end of SJ's promo was an interesting line. Zack is one intense dude. However I must call into question his taste in t-shirts and musical groups.

Hoff 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 If a certain someone was supposed to show up this week, he apologizes. This theoretical person has had the flu all week. He didn't mean to leave people hanging. Also, he (whoever he may or may not be) will leave feedback soon. Also, if he knew someone named Tony, he'd want him to know he'll catch him in a day or two here. Sorry cats.
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 Feeback for the 1/19/06 OAOAST HeldDOWN~!: -The SAG joke was great. I also loved Cole responding with emoticons and Caboose responding to that! -Anderson Cup First Round Match: South Central Militia vs. Thunderkid & Reject: Good match. Seemed kind of short though. I get the feeling that the problems between TK and Reject will continue though. I'm not sure why. -Good Stephen Joseph promo. I was a little confused as to why Popick was standing next to a lightpost outside. But I guess he did it for atmosphere. Anyway, this promo hyped up the World Title Match at Anglepalooza well. I especially liked the last line about the devil getting his due. And what was up with Calvin Szechstein calling him? What's going on between the two of them? -Hey, Peter Knight noticed the cameraman was in the room! That was cool. I wish someone would do that in one of the "real" wrestling organazations. -Team Heyross vs. Jim Daniels and Jack Beam: It was as good as a squash match can be. I loved the names of the jobbers. The finish was good. I haven't seen that double team move ever done before, so points to Alfdogg for the creative finisher. -Does someone in WWE read HeldDOWN~!? Because that's the only explanation I got as to why the WWE is using the interview stage again. We've used it for months, and now all of a sudden, the WWE is using it? Someone in WWE must read HeldDOWN~!, I'm telling you! Anyway, nice short but sweet interview from Team Heyross. That interview reminded me that Team Heyross hasn't won the OAOAST Tag Team Titles yet. Hopefully, they win them soon. -Good promo from Zack Malibu. I still think the New New Midnight Express will beat The Usual Suspects at Anglepalooza though. Zack's mind is going to be on The Upstarts, and not on defending the Tag Team Titles. The stuff before the promo with Josh Matthews and Marty The Cameraman was funny. We need more stuff from Marty The Cameraman! -X-Division Championship Match: The Parka (Champion with Eddy Kalm) vs. Otaku II (Challenger with Ayane Mitsui and "The Sheriff" Tony Capella): This was a pretty good match. It started off slow, but it got hot once Jamie O' Hara showed up. For a second, I thought Parka would actually lose the belt once Otaku locked him in the Sharpshooter. The post match activities with O' Hara and Parka would go too. I like O' Hara's character as the British loud mouth street punk. Did Caboose have split personality disorder for a second there? He contradicted himself in one point during the match. -Jumbo vs. Kevin Carson: This was a squash with a large order of squash fries and a squash coke. Biggie sized. Still, it did its job of putting Jumbo over as a threat in the Lethal Rumble Match. It's rare to see a big man do a superplex, so it was a surprise to see Jumbo pull it off. -Hey! I got referenced in the NRG interview! Excellent! Patty O' Green wrote this interview, didn't he? It was really funny with Bif smelling Josh' hair, and the seven-year-old boy screaming, "I'D FUCK HIM!" Just an all around great, great interview. The addition of Mackenzie DeCenzo is a good idea. You just know that she's going to help them win matches. I'm interested in the NRG/Sk8ter Boiz match next week. I get the feeling that next week won't be the blowoff to the feud and is only the beginning, and that NRG and the Sk8ter Boiz will have many more matches in the future. -Good short segment between Jenny Adams and Ashley Street. It showed how crushed Jenny is at fighting Crystal at Anglepalooza. It makes me wonder how the match between her and Crystal will go down at the pay-per-view. -Anderson Cup First Round Match: The Lonestar Gunslingers vs. Christian Wright & Bohemoth: This was a good match too. The Gunslingers have an old school quality to them. It's like they came straight from the 1970s! Neither team truly dominated the match. It went back and forth. The ending surprised me. I thought for sure that Christian Wright and Bohemoth would win. Once again, let me say that The Erotic Awakening Of B is the funniest name for a finishing move in the history of the OAOAST, hands down. The Lonestar Gunslingers vs. Black T should be a great match. I can't wait for that one. -Too bad Leon Rodez vs. Dan Black didn't happen this week. And PK, you only posted one Brains & Brawn segment. I sent you two of them for this week's show. Final Thoughts: A good show this week, although I thought last week's show was better. I was disappointed that the Hoff angle from last week's show didn't continue this week. Also, where was Foshi? Anyway, I'm really looking forward to next week's show. I'm excited for the two Anderson Cup matches, and I hope all of you are excited for the 5-On-5 Survivor Series Elimination Match. I've put alot of work into it, and I hope you guys like it. I also have some other stuff planned for next week that I hope you guys like. Thumbs up for this week's HeldDOWN~!. Foshi 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 Sorry about this past week, everyone. Not that Foshi's such a big deal, but I don't want anyone to think I left. I just moved into my dorm and have been having network problems and thus no internet. I'm gonna cover it next week that Foshi and Rikjin were performing on some show in Japan. Anywho, my internet seems to be good now so I'll be reading this week's HD soon and I'll have stuff in for this coming week and Anglepalooza.
