SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 So...Jarrett runs people out of town by loosing to them? This storyline isn't making any sense...
Hoff 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 MONTY! Yeah, and Rhino, whatevs. SIGN IT MONTY! Hot little ending. I like that they keep teasing Monty Brown vs. Jeff Jarrett.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 The whole thing with Sting is kind of bogus. Apparently Jarrett is so bad-ass that LOSING to him makes you fear him; it's Cage's fault that Sting didn't show, and why would he not show anyway? And, like, maybe they'll answer that next week, but it doesn't make for a good show this week.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 TNA is getting hard for me to watch again. Same thing happened last year at this time. Not to say I don't keep up with it, but they just scramble around during their shows.
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 I thought it was a pretty solid show personally, and I wish Indy shows had production values like that..
DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 I left on the TV after Impact went off and this episode of MXC came on with TNA vs WWE. Pretty funny stuff. Just thought I'd share.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 Killings, Shark Boy, and Lance Hoyt. WTF team. The white dude didn't even get into the ring during the James Gang match. ICP music for Moore????? That match was yet another reason why I've hated Shannon Moore since Three Count ended. Who the hell thought it was good idea for the semi-heel authority figure to call the face team cry babies? Awful show tonight. The opening tag match was sloppy, as was AJ/Moore, the Team Canada match accomplished nothing, and the bait and switch with Sting was lame. And please, take Larry off TV. It's times like these where I seriously believe every person involved with TNA is retarded.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 22, 2006 Stop taking Jarret saying he ran Sting out so literal. Of course he didn't, but the way he sees it in his mind he did. It fits his character. The show wasn't THAT bad and it did further the angles, but all the throwaway matches did hurt the show. This Prince of Punk shit isn't working, so hopefully TNA realizes it...soon. A "punk" gimmick would be fine, if he didn't look like a WWe version of "punk".
Guest Coffey Report post Posted January 22, 2006 Last night was the first episode of iMPACT! that I've had to shut off. I'm growing tired of waiting around for the company to get off their asses and actually do something. It's boring. It's bland. It's not "total nonstop action" like they claim it is. It's a bunch of fucking jobbers! First match? The Diamonds in the Rough against Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt. I don't care. The person I like the most is the MANAGER. Chris Sabin now looks like a boy band reject. Dutt and Skipper are spot monkeys and Young certainly isn't anything special or unique. Second match? Team Canada against Killings, Hoyt & Shark Boy. Team Canada outside of Petey and Roode (to me) are faceless. Hoty is the shits. Shark Boy is a comedy gimmick. Why is a former 2-time World Champion teaming with them? The match was forgetable and probably just there to showcase the Canadian Destroyer again. I'm tired of hearing Mike Tenay call Scott D'Amore a "wide load." It's not funny and not a real big knock. Just stop. We got a whole lot of "here comes Sting" crap. First West in the parking lot saying they were waiting on him, then Douglas backstage saying they were waiting on him. There was a promo with Styles and Daniels backstage. It wasn't bad but I don't really want to listen to Styles talk. Then, before the next commercial break, they said "still to come, the James Gang in action and Styles Vs. Moore" and I realized I no longer cared. So, I stopped watching. hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 TNA needs to stop acting like WCW. First and formost, they need to have Sting actually appear on cable TV. I didn't watch WCW when the Crow Sting gimmick started, but I do know that for a year he just hung aroung the rafters with a baseball bat, feuding with Hogan. Then, their blow-off match was the shits. They need to stop hyping Sting and actually deliver. These fans are a lot more smarkish and will shit all over it if they even smell another WCW-ish Sting gimmick.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 Sting is going to win "the war" by saying "IT"S SHOWTIME" over the loud PA system and make the occassional save at the end of every other show? I tell you what I just can't wait to see Eric Young and Chris Harris as fake Stings again!!!!!1111.

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 Stop taking Jarret saying he ran Sting out so literal. Of course he didn't, but the way he sees it in his mind he did. It fits his character. The problem is that it doesn't make sense in any figurative way, either. Nothing has happened that would even REMOTELY justify Jarrett taking this position. There's no way to rationalize it. Its just poor storytelling on TNA's part.

Its just poor storytelling on TNA's part. Umm actually there is a clear reason why Jarrett claimed that - he's a chickenshit heel who, in that typical form, claims he did everything and then some to his opponents, and which its clear to anyone else that its BS. Typical chickenshit heel formula. Pretty much in the consensus about last night, wasnt that great of a show really. Styles and Moore in a street fight match should have really been much better, but again this is another reason why they need to be two hours so badly, as hardly anything gets over. Typical chickenshit heel formula. I think you are horribly abusing the word "clear" with that explanation. Even using twisted heel logic, Jarrett claiming he ran Sting out of TNA makes no sense. They're basically just shoe-horning in a new storyline without any rational set-up.

The Buzz 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Jarrett has been doing the I ran so and so out of TNA speech for awhile though. It's almost part of his character. He's claimed to have ran Sting and Hogan out of TNA before when A.)Sting destroyed Jarrett in every encounter, and B.) Hogan never officially joined the promotion, as well as others. Coffey and I seem to be in the same boat here. I barely paid attention to the James Gang match before tuning out. It may be because I can't stand Billy Gunn, but I have no earthly idea why people thought a NAO reunion was going to be any good. That schtick was old in 1999. As far as the Styles/Daniels promo AJ tries, but his speaking style just prevents him from displaying any real emotion. I couldn't care any less about friggin' Shannon Moore because....well....it's Shannon Moore. I can deal with Sting-Jarrett as long as it isn't for the title (and Christian has the belt), but actually this story with Jackie Gayda actually has me a bit interested. As long as she stays the HELL out of the ring, that is.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 PWI says this show got a another .9 on Saturday, so the keep inching toward that 1.0. I would say that delivering Sting would put them over the edge, but they didn't deliver Sting this week like promised, so the people who fell for the bait and switch might not return on the chance they'll get duped again. razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 I was expecting Sting to yell "IT'S SHOWTIME!" and jump from the rafters, hit Monty with his nerf bat, and sign the contract for the match against Jarrett. But appearently Sting's White Hummer was stuck in traffic so he missed the 1st portion of the tv taping and will show up in the 2nd hour of iMPACT! Lucky for us the fans Christian Cage has Sting's phone number so he can keep us updated on where Sting is.....let's hope he did not stop at GNC to pick up some Morphoplex.
