Promoter 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Carnival is right, but damn.......If they are doing this with Eddie I can only imagine how they would exploit Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair's death(think about HHH for one second). Those two are bigger legends and stars. The wwe might be starting a precedent with this angle.
Guest Mukawa Report post Posted February 3, 2006 That's exactly why I think Rey does NOT deserve the title shot. He went the bitch route and should end up getting dicked over for it. He ruined his kid's life, pissed away his friendship for a few extra bucks and doesn't deserve anything but my contempt. LOL What a stupid assesment. Let me ask you this, where els is Rey gonna get a high payed salary that can earn the decent living he has? Don't tell me TNA's an option, no matter how good that is. Samoa Joe $700 a month and Sting over $1000.000? Yeah, sure. It's fans like you that get useless goons booked over like Randy Orton.
Wrestlefreak 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Rey would NOT be a credible champ! Simple as that. He should not have won the Rumble, but now that he has, the WWE is gonna have to find a way to push him as a worthy champ until Mania.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Rey has beaten former world champions from both WCW and the WWE on numerous occassions....what exactly does he need to do to prove his credibility? It's been WELL established even in his WCW days that Rey could hang with the big guys...knock it off with this credibility stuff, for god's sake...

You have to remember, Smackdown has this enormous Hoss ME scene or something. Of course, the only one in it is part time Undertaker, but dont let that stop people. hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Okay, so we know on the SD! side, it's gonna be Angle v. Orton . What I don't know is who they have winning. Does even the WWE know?
Hoff 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 I don't know shit until it happens. Not only is this a rumor -- from an admittedly credible source, but still -- but the WWE booking team apparently can't decide WHO they want the WWE Title on until the night beforehand. It's real easy to imagine them coming around on Rey at a moment's notice. Dude may be small, but he's good and he's over.

Please elaborate how Mysterio can be any worse then Orton, HHH or Batista. None of that 'migit' crap please. If you can't see way's to book around that then you are truly blind. Carnival 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Just as long as you don't have Rey handing guys like Batista & Undertaker their asses, I think Rey is a very credible World Champion.
Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Just remember with Vince's fetish for big hosses bah gawd, a Rey Rey v. Champion X WM ME will not draw money from management's bubble standpoint. However if you went with the demographics of the ratings trends then the SD! fan base (which has been very well recieved with latino community I believe) will draw with the Rey WM ME scenario. My guess the bubble will win in the end, but considering the bi-polar manic workings of creative over the past few months we could see a booking on-the-fly setup up until the black screen of death on April 2. Again this is my opinion, and I could be wrong
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 honestly, guys, I don't think we can bank on ANYTHING at this point...booking is the worst it's EVER been right now...yeah deaths and injuries don't help, but a SMART booking team would be able to work around that. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2006 hyperchord24, its a known fact Orton will walking out of Wrestlemania with the World Heavyweight Title. The No Way Out 2006 Poster confirms what will be taking place at Wrestlemania 22 and after

Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2006 Yeah, all that poster proves is Orton will be at No Way Out. BIG SURPRISE. It doesn't prove he's winning, and it definitely doesn't prove he's winning at Mania.
hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2006 What kind off heat do they expect Orton to get if/when he beats Angle anyway? It'll be the same heat Cena got -- the "I just beat a legit wrestler with 5 moves of doom after he carried me to a better match than I should've had" heat. If anything, he should beat Rey (like they would ever trust rey with the WHT) for the title to play off the direction they're going in or UT, FINALLY giving him a rub. Promoter 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2006 You guys say that now. TRUE! The net is so finicky. I remember John Cena being trumpeted to become wwe champion at one time here also. The same with Orton. The same with Batista. We can go on.........
Jericho2000Mark 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2006 Cena was on the poster of the 2004 Rumble...he wasn't even one of the final four.

The same with Orton. The same with Batista. We can go on......... Honestly, I think Batista did a good job, all things considered. Cena is a different case. I don't think anyone could have expected him to regress so badly and so quickly in the ring and on the mic. However, as long as he was blowing the roof off as a face, You couldn't really complain all that much, because it at least made sense from a business sense, especially when they thought he may be a big crossover star (He wasn't, but can't blame them for trying) Orton's matches with Foley and Benoit masked him long enough for people to think he was better than he was. Guest Mukawa Report post Posted February 7, 2006 If anything, he should beat Rey (like they would ever trust rey with the WHT) for the title to play off the direction they're going in or UT, FINALLY giving him a rub. Orton has been one of 2005's worst attractions, why the fuck would you trust him with the belt if he still can't get heat at this point? He can win any belt and still be an overrated greenhorn in the fans eye's. To hell with his supposed push, weather it was poor booking controll or Orton's inhability to do a good job of it (personally I choose the latter), this guy was a failiure in the making and an Ange/Orton WM main event will be on the way to giving this years Wrestlemania the lowest buy-rates ever. Again, Rey is a credible choice. Those who dont believe so are fools.
