Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Goffy's limit is...eh. I barely use Goofy. Donald's Cosmic Rain and later on his supremely cool Mega-rocket limits are infinitely better.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 It does a bit random when you can pull off triangle attacks...well for goofy or donald anyway.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Demyx was a pain in the ass to fight. Using goofys limit break (which seems to be random for me) does help alot though. Once you clear the water forms, just go DRIVE on him. You can tear off a whole bar of his health with every hit combo. I used Valor and destroyed him. It's just those timed water forms that pissed me off. And yeah, the one at the Beast Castle was a SERIOUS pain because of his invinciblity deal. But again, drive form with the reaction command and you can shred them very easily. The limit command seems to be working by who you are closest to at the time. So far Tron has had the best limit attack in the game and it's a new deal to me having to gain experience in Drive and Summons but I like using them so it's cool. Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Well yeah, like all the reaction commands, you have to be in the "right place" to do them. Donald's works pretty frequently for me though. Xaldin is pissing me off, not really because of the invicibilty part, but because of the annoying giant wind staffs that hit you no matter what. And that "Jump" reaction command is useless. Actually, you hit him with each jump you do but you have to keep attacking him. It basically just allows you to break through his defenses and unleash hell. I hope you saved up some hi-potions cause he will kick your ass for awhile if you don't. I used two drive forms and lots of potions and barely survived the fight. Renegade 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 I just finished the whole epic 1000 battle but now Agrabah and Halloween town are blocked, what gives?
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Yeah I do, but thats another thing thats annoying me, I can never get my potions to work with Sora. Everytime I hold down the button to use for magic/potions, my potions are always darkened out/not usable, even though I've got tons of them, and always re-stock my party's equp spots. I just finished the whole epic 1000 battle but now Agrabah and Halloween town are blocked, what gives? I ran into the same problem. You have to go back through some of the other towns and do follow up missions. I went to Land of The dragons and then Port Royal and they opened back up. Renegade 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Ah right, back to Port Royal it is then.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 I can't pass under the sea because HJO's singing cracks me up too much to pay attention. EDIT: After alot of self control I managed to pass it, still funny though.
Special K 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Who's playing on hard mode? The reviews bitched about it being way too easy, but people seem to be having a decent challenge here, do reccomend normal or hard?
Renegade 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Normal ranges from very easy battles to some challenging ones (a few of the boss fights). I'd say it's a tad easier overall compared to KH1.
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 I'm playing on Normal. Xaldin's annoying me enough without being on Hard mode. Although I have to agree it does seem easier than KHI, besides a few boss battles.
Guest The Satanic Angel Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Do you have to play the first KH in order to 'get' the second one? I haven't played either, but was recommended the original KH at one point in time..
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 You dont_have_to. You won't understand much of it, but you dont have to play I to enjoy II.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Do you have to play the first KH in order to 'get' the second one? I haven't played either, but was recommended the original KH at one point in time.. Not really, they recap the ending of the first one right from the start and you'll see highlights from game one before things really get going. Seems like you can play either game stand alone but the original is so very enjoyable and so low priced now that I couldn't see not grabbing it up eventually. And if you get lost, some probably won't mind explaining what the hell is going on. The only thing I'm not liking right now is every world just follows the story of the movies and you are just kinda there. I liked the original with entirely different stories than the movies. Felt more engrossing.

The only thing I'm not liking right now is every world just follows the story of the movies and you are just kinda there. I liked the original with entirely different stories than the movies. Felt more engrossing. Well, KHI went through most of the movie stories, they were just changed to fit the game's story with the heartless and the movie baddies trying to capture all the female leads. Now we're just going through the movie stories with the heartless/nobodies/Org XIII thrown in and it feels like alot of the things are repeating, which I dont like. Like Agrabah, when you go to the Cave of wonders in II and Sora, Donald and Goofy act like its the coolest thing ever, like theyve never been there before even though they did that whole thing in the 1st game. Although the palques at the Colosium still having your name and ranks is a nice touch.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Just beat Xaldin. I used Beast at the start then switched him with goofy halfway through since knocksmash seemed to do more damage. It was mostly just taking the damage and healing/curing then fighting back with a limit/wisdom drive afterward. I used learn every now and then to score some free hits. Still I needed two Mickey assists to beat him.
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Has anyone else come across this? I've had it happen twice now. During a fight, my HP'll get low and it'll give the Valor reaction command, so I'll take it but instead of turning into valor form Sora turns into like a heartless version of himself. The 1st time he still had both keyblades, but this second time, he just turned into some crazy heartless veriation with no weapons, fighting with his hands. It's...wierd. Renegade 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 That happened to me once. I assumed it was because of an enemy spell.
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 That happened to me once. I assumed it was because of an enemy spell. I thought that too at first. 1st time it happened during the boss on the 2nd time through Port royal, so I shrugged it off as the "curse" somehow affecting us afterall. The 2nd time it happened outta nowhere in beasts castle.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 Hm, it happened to me in Port Royal and that's it. Also I am wondering how do you get Mickey to come save you after you die. It's only happened in Beast's Castle for me, once against the prison door and twice against Xaldin.
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2006 Good question. Those are the only places he showed up for me too.

devo 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2006 Upon reaching the Pride Lands, the character transformations reach a whole new level, as Sora is turned into an unimaginably cute lion cub. I always thought that screen shot from the Pride Lands was one of Simba and one of the characters from Lion King II, but it's actually Simba and Sora. Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2006 So I figured out the drive form turning you into a heartless thing. From Gamefaqs: The infamous Anti Form. Due to it not being in the Menu, there are no stats listed. When in this form, Sora moves like a Shadow Heartless, and can move extremely fast. His jumps have long range, and he can reach enemies very quickly. His attack power has a massive drop, but this is made up for by the fact that he can pull off extremely long, quick combos, with a decent combo finisher. As Reaction Commands are disabled, pray you never accidentally Drive into this in a boss battle that requires them. As an added note, the Battle Report you get after the credits lists the amount of times you Drove into Anti Form. Apparently it's done by excessive use of the Drives. I always thought that screen shot from the Pride Lands was one of Simba and one of the characters from Lion King II, but it's actually Simba and Sora. So I'm not the only one who just wanted to pick him up and hug him. That is the cutest god damn lion cub design. And the excessive use of drives thing doesn't make sense to me, I rarely use drive and it's usually just to level it up.
devo 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2006 So I'm not the only one who just wanted to pick him up and hug him. Haha, nope. Sora isn't very intimidating in that form, but damn if he isn't adorable. Also, forget what I said earlier about only being in the Tron world for thirty minutes...there are more objectives to be completed there later in the game. Special K 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2006 i sorta like KHII, but how long till we get a great old school RPG? How hard is it to do Suikoden II, which is my #2 RPG of all time, again? I don't want to watch kids say a line, *three reaction shots* let's go! anymore. It's a good thing I can play FFVI at work. Valkyrie Profile is probably the last (chronologically) great RPG. They're making VP2, it looks like it's going to have a lot of CUTSCENES!

I figure you're right in the idea that it's Sora "tapping into his inner darkness" like emo Cloud said, that's just the "official" explanation.
