Guest Report post Posted February 16, 2006 If it comes out that they were hunting with two black guys named Ray and Claude, I am going to start to suspect something. Ripper - telling that joke for his own entertainment since he will probably be the only one to get it. Yes, a fucking Life reference!
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 It isn't anyone's fucking buisness that he accidentallu shot a guy except Cheney's and the guy he shot. And the police. Don't forget about them. Seriously, though, the reason a story like this gets so much press is because its easy to understand. There's no complex issues involved like Social Security or perjury. Cheney is powerful and famous, and he was involved in something that sounds bad but people will "get". FAR more important story about Dick Cheney: http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/02/15/che...d.ap/index.html

Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Um the reason its a story is because the Vice President shot a person. It was a big story when Jason Williams shot someone, which he said was a accident in the start, but it was still a big story. If a retired NBA power forward accidentally shooting someone is a big story, then the Vice President of the United States doing it will be. Of course the difference is that it was later found out Jason Williams was playing around with a loaded gun, but it is the point of the press to see if Dick was showing off his ROTC moves and accidentally shot the guy. Vice President being reckless with gun and shooting a guy is a big deal people. I don't think that was the case or that it should be that big of a deal, but it is going to be a big story because that is the nature of things.

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 A little more irony on the Cheney thing. the guy he shot is the brother to Bill Whittington, Founder of the NRA National Center in Roswell NM.
CheesalaIsGood 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 You just got to love how some folks are trying to deflect the whole thing by making this story more about the press than about the shooting. Oh what a bunch of assholes the press are for being interested in something the vice president did. Mores since it involved him nearly killing someone. No, that’s not a story. Republicans suddenly would rather talk about the fucking war!!! A shocking turn of events. It reminds me of a lot of the reviews I read of that Mikey Moore movie. You don't need to accuse these guys of ridiculous shit when they hang themselves with their own actions and words. But damn what a dumb motherfucker Cheney must be to have allowed something like this to happen at a time like this. You know, while trying to keep the appearance that guys like him and Bush are competent people in CONTROL of things. But hey it's what a lot of people want so have at it. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2006 I think by now it should be almost assumed Cheney was drunk, or at least buzzed. I mean we have three different accounts of whether alcohol was involved. The owner of the ranch said NO, Cheney said "we had a beer" and the guy who got shot said, "well, there was no alcohol DURING the hunt" which basically is an ass-backwards way of saying they were probably drinking during lunch before the hunt. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2006 Clearly, there's no real story here, it's just that we have an administration that's so accustomed to covering its ass that even when the situation can be calmly dealt with. They could've gotten a press release out in <14 hours if they wanted, and they should have. It's like when you catch a kid stealing from the cookie jar so often where it gets to the point of going "WHATIDIDN'TDOANYTHING" just by looking at him. Yeah, you're right, people should never forgive their friends for honest accidents. What'd you think he was gonna say, "WATCH YOUR BACK MISTER VICE-PRESIDENT, BECAUSE PAYBACK IS A BITCH!" and proceed to join the Democratic Party in his quest for vengeance? BruiserKC 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 Hunting accidents are frequent...I speak as a hunter myself. Shit happens sometimes. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 Shit that he brought on himself by not saying anything about it, or having someone representing him say something about it, despite being in a position where he could be the most powerful man in the free world at any time (although pundits would have you believe he's already in that position). Earlier you faulted them for instinctively trying to be quiet about it, and now it's cool? None of this stuff that Whittington's apologizing for would have even happened if his bud had just been open and honest. I wouldn't apologize to my friend if he did the same shit, would you? Forgiveness is one thing, apologies are another, and you're confusing the two.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 Even the most liberal of libtard radio shows over the past week have agreed that the story is not about the accidental shooting, rather the fact that Cheney turned away Sheriff's when they arrived on the scene. and told them to come back in the morning. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 Add to this that the only real comment the sheriff offered was "If you have any questions, read the report," and it's a big ol' package with "if there's nothing to hide, why not just answer questions until there aren't any left?" stamped on it. That kind of behavior would make any remotely intelligent person wonder why the hell they're being so difficult about something completely harmless.

That kind of behavior would make any remotely intelligent person wonder why the hell they're being so difficult about something completely harmless. Ex-fucking-actly. This is what gets me about this Administration. For the life of them they want to be able to spy on people without warrants and court orders, but when it comes to THEM, "I don't use email, because I don't want people reading my personal stuff" or "Sorry Sheriff's come back in the morning when I can collaborate stories...errrrrrrrrr.....when I am emotionally stable" When it comes to the american people, "if you have nothing to hide, then shut the fuck up and get in line" but different rules apply to them.
