This week in the New York Knicks

That trade's just weird. Not often you see trades solely with big men in them. I'm not a big Nene fan.

I hope the Pistons don't trade for Claxton or Brevin Knight, as has been rumored, because they're putting up good numbers for my fantasy teams.

It's going to be Minny's decision on whether they want to start rebuilding now or not.

I say there's definitely talks going on because Isiah has the Miles/Ratliff deal on the table, but is still holding out. I guess it was for this.

No clue. I'm not sure why the Blazers would want to trade Przybilla, either.

Both Pryz and Nene are going to be unrestricted free agents. Pryz has been dealing with a knee injury, and there's whispers that it may be more serious than anyone is letting on, that it may become a chronic condition. I can see why that deal would make sense for them, if they think they have a chance to sign Nene at the end of the year, and if they plan on keeping Miles, making Outlaw a liability.

And if KG goes to NY I'm throwing a party. You're all invited.

Why would KG want to play with Marbury again? Something about that whole deal seems off, I guess it's mainly due to the fact that it would IMPROVE the Knicks and we wouldn't be taking back at least one bad contract. I'm stumped.

KG and Marbury have said that they'd like to play with each other again. Except Marbury said he hopes its in NY, and KG in Minny, although that article says that if he gets traded, he hopes its NY.

Completely disregard that trade rumor now.

A source close to the participants in the talks

is enough of a sign to not believe it. I never believe that bullshit. Plus, it's New York. They have rumors there for everyone.

I never believe anything coming from Chicago, New York, Toronto or LA unless it's reported in a major news source.

The lack of any coverage from ESPN, Hoopshype, etc. leads me to believe that Garnett is not on the block. If he was, they'd be getting a lot more serious bids than Frye+Hardaway.

If this thing does happen it shifts Isiah to second worst GM... McHale becomes the worst.

Minnesota doesn't have the balls to pull any trade with KG during the season (and I don't blame them). Their fanbase would shit all over it, especially for that. I'd expect to see some Robinson and talent the Knicks don't have in that shit. I don't remember McHale making bad trades, just some other stupid stuff.

EDIT: I'm not saying that what the Knicks offered is bad, just that they could get a hell of a lot more.

Cassell and a 1st for Jaric wasn't a bad trade?

It's in KGs and Minny's hands. This is only possible because KG would like to go to NY (if reports are accurate), and if they choose to rebuild, they'll respect wherever he'd want to go.

Pay Cassell or not have him report? Hm, which is worse? The pick part of that trade is real bad, but Minnesota never drafts anyway. McHale was forced to do something with that one. I don't want to talk about KG moving to NY, nothing good will come of that discussion.

Did anyone catch on ESPN what Denver reportedly proposed (and was promptly rejected) to Philly for Iverson? I caught Earl Watson and a ton of expiring contracts, did anyone else hear other names or is that as far as it went?

I actually just tested the Frye/Penny for KG trade on the trade ticker a couple hours ago. I'm pretty good at this stuff.

Also got Gordon and Thomas to Minny for KG, and to Boston for Pierce and Tony Allen.

Nene and a bunch of expiring.

In other words, garbage that Philly wouldn't want. I would think they'd want to wait for a good free agent class before doing that, but Vandeweghe doesn't.

Ok that's terrible. I heard them ranting and raving, but didn't want to join the douchebag Legler without hearing more details. I'm in the trade Iverson camp, but not for a package like that. Unless they move Webber as well, there is no point to building a deal around taking on expiring deals, as they won't be under the cap anytime soon.

If they can get a high quality young player, a 1st round pick or two, and an expiring deal (to match salaries), I would do that.

I think that whatever young player Philly should get for Iverson needs to be a guard as well unless they plan on dealing Webber. It has to be, right? It's kinda sad to see AI be treated this way.

Latest rumor from SI.com has Francis to the Knicks for "a package of players" including Crawford and Maurice Taylor. Just Crawford and Taylor would make it work under the cap, but the use of the term "package" leads me to believe that more than two guys would be involved.

you know, with rumblings about Iverson and KG, maybe Philly and Minnesota should jsut switch star players. At least they'd both get something fairly close to equal value. In some ways it might be a lateral move though, however philly could get really good, a frontline of KG/Webber/Dalembert is Pistons-like in its potential. I just checked ESPN's Trade Machine, and a one for one swap actually works.
