Guest Dam(o)nYankees Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Trish: Maria GEThelp Torrie'sLAIDout....
Placebo Effect Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Product placement plus Torrie managing to be unconvincing even when playing dead all in one segment? Fantastic.
AndrewTS Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Stupid Trish--if you didn't *see* her getting the snot kicked out of her, don't believe it.
ChrisMWaters Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Well, so much for DiBiase getting inducted. ...Verne Gagne!?
Hawk 34 Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 That was stupid. Are they back to pretending that Foley has never won at Wrestlemania? Edge, was smart enough to point out that "DQ's and Reversed decisions, don't count". Other then that, Foley doesn't have a great Mania past. He hasn't gotten a straight pin-fall/submission victory. (Although, He might have gotten the pin-fall on TBS at 2000) Regardless, there is nothing right about this angle. Foley has in fact won at Mania, and I think he did pin the Big Show. The concept that "You've never won...well, you have, but those wins dont count" is a ridiculous angle. I think Edge fucked up the original line and for some God foraken reason they're running with it. "The most anticipated main event in Mania history" In some ways, I guess it is. It started with a "Sorry, I kinda but not really costed you the title although your girlfriend is more to blame for that if anything" cause...then it was "I'm was a better transitional champion then you" cause...that shifted into "Well, I am unbeaten in WM matches involving Ladder matches and a meaningless "home" victory...you just so happened to main event a WM but you haven't pinned anyone, so I'm still better then you!" How hard is it to go "I hate you and want to kick your ass because I'm pissed I am not the champion anymore" "Well, I hate your attitude and I want one more last Mania match and beating your ass will be worth it".
Guest Dam(o)nYankees Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 DiBiase really belongs in the Hall. Verne Gagne. Wow.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Hmm.. is this out of the blue or what?
The Amazing Rando Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 OMG..SOMEBODY KILLED TORRIE! THOSE BA....WONDERFUL WONDERFUL BASTARDS.
Quasar Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 The Event 15 years in the making......... Greg Gagne's return to wrestling TV.
ChrisMWaters Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 The Event 15 years in the making......... Greg Gagne's return to wrestling TV. To set up a feud with Shane McMahon.
Hawk 34 Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Hogan and Gagne in the same building... Michaels and Hart (maybe) in the same building... I'm slightly surprised by Gagne's induction but I'm guessing it's cross-promotion with the AWA dvd and the AWA home-base of Chicago.
Guest Dam(o)nYankees Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 I love that they're calling this the most anticipated ever. It may be, but in all the wrong ways. 10 bucks says they're using Unlimited to try and get Cena over.
Hawk 34 Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 2007 is probably Steamboat (20th anniversary of WM3), Rhodes, Dibiase and others.
Quasar Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Minor nitpicking: Wasn't Larry Zybysko actually the last AWA World Heavyweight Champion? Lawler was champion in 1987 (or 88) and the AWA closed in 1990.
Guest Dam(o)nYankees Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 A Larry the Cable guy movie? WHY?
SuperJerk Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 So....shouldn't the movie then be called "Larry the Health Inspector"?
razazteca Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 20 bucks says Cowboy Troy loses to Cena in a freestyle battle.
ChrisMWaters Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Minor nitpicking: Wasn't Larry Zybysko actually the last AWA World Heavyweight Champion? Lawler was champion in 1987 (or 88) and the AWA closed in 1990. They don't want you to remember the "Studio" days of AWA.
Ravenbomb Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 a Larry the Cable Guy movie... ...why, God, why?!
AndrewTS Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Odd choice to honor Gagne. Speaking of which... "While working for the American Wrestling Association in the 1980s, Zbyszko began dating Kathy Gagne, the daughter of Verne Gagne, the owner of the AWA. They kept their relationship secret for half a year before encountering Gagne's son Greg at a Moody Blues concert. Verne Gagne initially resented Zbyszko, but accepted him after Kathy became pregnant. Zbyszko and Kathy were married in 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have two sons together, in addition to Zbyszko's two sons from a previous marriage." (wikipedia) Hm...sounds oddly familiar.
Hawk 34 Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 You know, I am curious to see if they incorporate the trampoline into the cage match.
Guest Dam(o)nYankees Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Could contract signings in wrestling be any more boring?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Im surprised this wasn't a MAIN EVENT CONTRACT SIGNING.
Exslade ZX Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 So, why is it that they never do 5 on 1?
