RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2006 1 Hour is certainly enough time to get over the angles and wrestlers, they just don't know how to use it. Lost, CSI, etc. have one hour a week and some how, some way, they are able to put on good shows, tell effective stories, and develop characters and you are telling me that TNA can't? Bullshit. 1 hour is enough. If they can't use 1 hour right, I have little faith in them using 2 hours. In the beginning I gave them the benefit of the doubt and saw their initial tv booking as a learning curve, but now it's clear they are simply imcompetent. They are like you, blaming it on not having enough time, when they should be blaming themselves for trying to get every wrestler on their roster on TV rather than focusing on 2 or 3 main storylines and just a handful of wrestlers. The parity booking and inconsistency when pushing guys doesn't help much either.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted March 25, 2006 Exactly. If you're putting filler on, and refusing to show your stars in 1 hour... how will it be better with 2? I've never understood why people think 2 hours will suddenly cure Impact...
RedJed 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2006 I was, previously, the same train of thought that the problem was just that "oh, well they dont have enough time to give the product justice" - but like you two said, its a case of too little too late in a sense. They are stuck with one hour and will continue to be for awhile, so with that said, they need to change up the shit and work within their limits. Plus to be perfect honest, if they really wanted to do it, they could make Xplosion a complete "B show" - eliminating alot of the BS from Impact and putting it on there, and from there, making Impact MUCH more better. But they dont and continue to stay shallow in mediocrity. And its just sad because I really do think the company has so much more potential than this. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2006 Here's all they need to do: Put two or three feuds on TV and dedicate the TV time to those storylines. PPV's are usually sold on the top matches, and all it takes is 2 or 3 to sell it. So that's all they need to focus on. Everything else is a waste of limited tv time. You look at any TV show and they have an A and B storyline and they use the shows to develop them, the same should be for Impact. Now, someone would say "Well what about the other PPV matches! You can't just have 3 matches on a show that people care about!" Well, for one thing, 3 matches people REALLY care about is more than 9 matches that people don't really care about at all. Two, the person who has already bought the PPV doesn't really care about the undercard matches, and you don't really have to sell those matches cause the show has already been sold. Look at the UFC model - people buy the show to see the top 2 fights, but are there for the undercard and sit and watch and see new stars and new threats develop. Three, you can still air the shit building those matches on-line and through syndication, and then use a minute of TV to direct people to the website to see the undercard guys and review it a lil bit. The NBC shows have ONE story to tell each week while iMPACT thinks that it has to promote 4 or more angles a week with 3 of them involving Jeff Jarrett none the less. Its like having 5 Law & Order shows with all of them focusing on NYC, its crazy. Exactly. If you're putting filler on, and refusing to show your stars in 1 hour... how will it be better with 2? I've never understood why people think 2 hours will suddenly cure Impact... To build up new stars! Because eventually AJ vs Daniels vs Joe and AMW vs Naturals and JJ holding everybody down will get boring. Some of the filler has to go, people like Bob Armstrong, Jackie Gayda, A1, are not exactly setting the orlando amumusement park studio on fire.

There's nothing in the wrestling TV rule book that says you have to flood your television with wrestleres. Select a few guys and have them be your primary cast and build your A B and C storylines around them.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2006 The champions should be the focus of the show but TNA does not believe in that philosophy. TNA has the nWo D-list Team lead by Jarrett and Steiner as the focus of the show with Jarrett trying to do heel promos and failing everytime and Steiner being the intense meanie that uses colorful language which has the audience go mild. All storylines revolve around Planet Jarrett in TNA even the secondary storylines are pulled in by the gravity of JJ. At the moment the NWA Tag Team champions AMW are the satillites of Planet Jarret and are always seen around Jarrett. The only other stable that gets decent tv time, Team Canada revolves around Planet Jarrett as an astroid belt...the rings of jarrett if you will. If there is a C storyline it will look bad as in the case of LAX vs James Gang, which was doomed at the start.
