Guest wildpegasus Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 This topic is for anyone who lives in the Maratimes, has visited the Maratimes or know people from the Maratimes. So far I know about 6 or 7 people on this board who have at one time lived in Nova Scotia or are living from Nova Scotia. Are there any others out there? Anyone from New Brunswick, PEI or Newfoundland? Discuss.
The Metal Maniac Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 How on earth can you live in the Maritimes and spell the word Maritimes wrong three seperate times?
bob_barron Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 My roomate last year was from Nova Scotia
Guest wildpegasus Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 How on earth can you live in the Maritimes and spell the word Maritimes wrong three seperate times? Because I knew it would give me an automatic response in this thread. My roomate last year was from Nova Scotia Awesome, what part of Nova Scotia?
The Metal Maniac Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Are you really that desperate for attention that you put typos in your posts just so grammar nazis will say something? Because that's really, really sad.
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Lived in PEI, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Only been to NFL once, though.
Guest wildpegasus Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Are you really that desperate for attention that you put typos in your posts just so grammar nazis will say something? Because that's really, really sad. Sometimes people don't notice them though. Sometimes I put sexual entrendres into my setences but they seem to go over the head of everyone here. But is it sadder for someone to intentionally spell words incorrectly or for someone to point out said incorrectly spelt words? Lived in PEI, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Looks like we might have a winner here!
The Metal Maniac Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 It's a hell of a lot sadder for you to misspell the word for the PLACE YOU LIVE IN then it is for me to call you on it, especially when it's allegedly done for attention. I mean, if I asked who here was from Canida, and someone called me on it, I'd *know* I was the idiot.
MrRant Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 They make a lot of bowling balls in New Brunswick.
CanadianChris Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Driving from Edmunston to St. Andrew's was odd. I barely saw any houses made with brick. They were all cheap siding. I got my only hole-in-one playing in PEI.

The Niggardly King Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Only been to NFL once, though. You used to be in the NFL?
Guest wildpegasus Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Only been to NFL once, though. You used to be in the NFL? NFL = Newfoundland
The Czech Republic Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Only been to NFL once, though. You used to be in the NFL? NFL = Newfoundland NO SHIT.
CanadianChris Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Only been to NFL once, though. You used to be in the NFL? NFL = Newfoundland NO SHIT. POTD
Guest wildpegasus Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Only been to NFL once, though. You used to be in the NFL? NFL = Newfoundland NO SHIT. Poor little Czech Republic. Don't you realise Koab was confused when he said NFL = Football? I just corrected him on his mistake so he'll know better next time. No need to rub it into his face. If you're any type of man you should give him an apology.
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 I actually meant the Nocturnal Fossa Lovers. I went to one of their gatherings a few years ago. I'd rather not go into the grizzly details of it other than it worked well in theory... It's a dark, dark time in my life.
Copper Feel Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Poor little Czech Republic. Don't you realise Koab was confused when he said NFL = Football? Because mr 29 year old virgin here wouldunt know anything about being confused, would he?
The Czech Republic Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Should've gone to the Nubile French Ladies gathering like I did.
The Czech Republic Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 I know Newfie jokes are your redneck jokes, but are the other Maritimes supposed to be instant punchlines too? Halifax seems really nice, as far as I can tell.
Guest wildpegasus Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 They have internet in the Maritimes? Yeah, fastspeed too! I know Newfie jokes are your redneck jokes, but are the other Maritimes supposed to be instant punchlines too? Halifax seems really nice, as far as I can tell. Newfoundland takes the brunt of about 99% of the jokes.
Red Baron Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Just don't call Newfies Maritimers, because Newfies hate that, even though they live on the Maritime itself, and technically they are called Maritimers, they hate being called that. I swear I just saw PEI not a minute a go.
Slayer Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Would you want to associate with Newfoundland? Also, besides Anne of Green Gables, is there anything notable about PEI?
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Golf Courses, Birthplace of Confederation, a long bridge, nice beaches, a potato museum, Me.
BifEverchad Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 I'm from Newfoundland, ma'fuckas. Take it easy! 1) NFL doesn't mean Newfoundland. NL is the correct abbreviation. 2) Newfoundland technically ISN'T apart of the Maritimes. We have our own separate timezone for Christ sakes. 3) The Canadian Curling Team who won Gold at the Olympics were NEWFOUNDLANDERS. 4) The guy nominated for Album of the Year and Song of the Year at this years Juno Awards is a NEWFOUNDLANDER. 5) Worldwide artists such as Pearl Jam, Hilary Duff, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Alice Cooper, and Bryan Adams have all sold out concerts here in the past 6 months or so. 6) Newfoundland was the first province to respond to Titanic's distress signal. 7) We were the first to host a transatlantic flight. 8) We were the first to have wireless communication in the world. 9) We have... the oldest street in North America, the oldest city in North America, the oldest rock in the world, the oldest continuous sporting event (Royal St. John's Regatta), the largest university in Atlantic Canada (MUN), the most pubs per square foot in Canada (George Street). 10) We are the sexiest people in Canada (Macleans magazine survey), the only province that has FOUR identifiable flags, the only province able to land the space shuttle (Stephenville, NL), the most giving people in Canada (Stats Canada), and of course, the most sexually active people in all of Canada (Stats Canada). So, please don't belittle us or put us behind any other provinces. Ignorance is bliss..
