Lei Tong Posted June 2, 2006 Author Report Posted June 2, 2006 Saul Soliz = master mediator Also, we haven't seen enough of Ken's boxing coach. He must be too decent to focus on.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I don't know. After seeing all the shit Matt's been taking I want him to win (plus, I'm a bit partial to wrestlers formerly being one myself). I just have a bad feeling that Mike beats him after Matt does something 'stupid' after taking him down.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Going to the fight at 35 after? This one looks like it might go to a decision.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I can't believe they've been building to Matts debut fight since the _first show_.
Lei Tong Posted June 2, 2006 Author Report Posted June 2, 2006 Tito loves his own half-nelson variation too much. Should've taught him the sidechoke.
DangerousDamon Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Tito loves his own half-nelson variation too much. Should've taught him the sidechoke. Is that why Tito was screaming YES! YES! like a school girl?
jwpeer Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I thought hammill couldn't punch?!?! he's picking him apart with his jab.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Well, Matt's definitely not a striker by trade but he looks like he's got some heavy hands. Just doesn't know what to do with him when he gets Mike on the ground.
Guest Coffey Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 It doesn't look like Mike is even trying...

Lei Tong Posted June 2, 2006 Author Report Posted June 2, 2006 If Matt had another 6 months of training this fight would've been over in 30 seconds.
DangerousDamon Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 If Matt had another 6 months of training this fight would've been over in 30 seconds. How long had Matt been fighting before the fight?
Lei Tong Posted June 2, 2006 Author Report Posted June 2, 2006 Matt's dominating with sheer athleticism, and Nichels looks like shit. Still not as bad as Tait/Haynes, though.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Fuck, this may be sloppy, but FUCK, am I enjoying it.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 If Matt had another 6 months of training this fight would've been over in 30 seconds. Agreed. Mike looks like he can't decide what to do out there so he's just trying to stand up with Matt. And not doing it well.
Lei Tong Posted June 2, 2006 Author Report Posted June 2, 2006 If Matt had another 6 months of training this fight would've been over in 30 seconds. How long had Matt been fighting before the fight? Matt had been training in MMA for about 6 months at the time of this fight.
jwpeer Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Matt could become a REALLY good fighter. He has a GREAT left jab that has good snap and clearly more power than it looks. His right hand has NO power though and isn't a threat at all. He doesn't ever go for a rear-choke though, and that's curious to me...
Guest Coffey Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Sloppy is definitely a great adjective to describe the first round, that's for sure.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 It sucks that Matt is going to Randy it and train for the Olympics instead of dedicating himself to fighting.
Guest Coffey Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 It looks like Mike is too psyched out over the aura of Matt rather than just actually fighting Matt toe-to-toe. It's like he's scared of him. He's just getting jabbed over and over and not listening to his corner.

His right hand has NO power though and isn't a threat at all. He doesn't ever go for a rear-choke though, and that's curious to me... Yeah he had that rear choke set up a couple of times. Isn't the right arm the one Bisping popped in training? Matt may just be favoring it.
naiwf Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Mike is quite possibly the worst fighter I've seen on this show. Aside from upkicks he's done shit against a guy who can't use one arm or hear what's being said.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Man Matt is manhandling Mike in there. Taking him down almost at will but doesn't know what to do afterwards.
DangerousDamon Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Looked like Matt was going for a Scorpion Deathlock there.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 YES!!!!!!!!! FUCK YOUR SPOILERS LEI !!!!!!!!1
jwpeer Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 no wonder it was so sloppy, hammill is fucking sick as hell. No wonder he didn't touch him...I'm surprised he won that fight.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I would say that Matt has a concussion but I have no idea where Mike would've given it to him. Maybe dehydrated or something.
