KingPK 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2006 It wasn't pushed last night, but the final two episodes of Ultimate Fighter are scheduled from 10 p.m. to midnight this coming Thursday, and the three remaining semifinal matches, Ed Herman vs. Rory Singer at 185, Mike Bisping knocking out Ross Pointon in the first round (I don't know this, but can't imagine anything else happening) and Josh Haynes vs. Jesse Forbes will all be airing Thursday. Kendall Grove vs. the 185 winner, and Bisping vs. Haynes-Forbes winner takes place live on 6/24 on a Spike TV special. Doug Herzog made the call a few weeks ago to air both shows next week so they would have nine days to promote the actual fights instead of two. TNA Impact airs at midnight next week. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 I was kind of disappointed that they didn't explore the Matt Hammil situation more. My girlfriend loved him and she was very upset that all they did was go "yeah he's hurt. he can't fight. find a replacement." It would've been nice to get some more info or have them talk about him or show him or have him say something. Maybe he'll fight at the Finale.
Adam 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 Anything other than Kendall vs Herman and Bisping in the Finals would be awful.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 I bought TUF Season 1 today and I've already seen it before but now I'm rewatching it with my gf. After watching Season 3 for so long I can't believe how much better what they're doing on Season 3 is. The challenges and the way they set up fights was just shitty and this is so much better. Plus the fighters are better.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 It'll be interesting to see where Season 3 stacks up in terms of fight-quality. I've got it ahead of Season Two but still behind One. The only standout fights in 2 were JVF/Gurgel, Cummo/Torres and Cummo/Morgan. 1 had Diego/Kosheck, Bonnar/Southworth, Bonnar/Swick, Griffin/Hoger and Griffin/Schnonauer. So far I'd put Groves/Starnes as the best fight so far of 3 but not as good as Koscheck/Diego (which is still the measuring stick for TUF fights as far as I'm concerned). In retrospect now you need to look at that fight and wonder how it would play out if it took place today. If Diego couldn't finish Kosheck then, could he do it now? Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 It'll be interesting to see where Season 3 stacks up in terms of fight-quality. I actually thought Burkman/Guillard was one of the season 2's better fights, as though it was more methodical than most of the MW bouts, the athleticism and (relatively) higher technique in the bout put it just behind Cummo/Morgan (which, though sloppy, was a slugfest you could easily get into). Also, Forrest/Schoenauer doesn't really stand-out well after the initial shock that Easy Tappings wasn't completely raped in 30 seconds (yet was still taken out in less than a minute and a half), and for whatever reason, I never liked Bonnar/Southworth that much (I'll admit that this is probably just a quirk on my end). So far I'd put Groves/Starnes as the best fight so far of 3 but not as good as Koscheck/Diego (which is still the measuring stick for TUF fights as far as I'm concerned). I think it'd have come closer had there been a more decisive finish to the bout as opposed to the pain simply becoming too much for Kalib. In retrospect now you need to look at that fight and wonder how it would play out if it took place today. If Diego couldn't finish Kosheck then, could he do it now? No fucking way. The fight doesn't even go to the ground unless Koscheck wants it too, and Diego's T-Rex stand-up isn't going to give Koscheck many problems. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 Burkman/Guillard started off well enough but once Josh broke his arm it slowed right the fuck down. Mind you I think I've only seen that fight once since its original airing so I'll watch it again when we finally get TUF2 up here. The distribution company that puts out UFC DVD's is apparently out of business and it's fucking up our stores shipments.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 Meh. I still preferred it to JVF 'tarding his way through Gurgel and Torres' pathetic ground display against Cummo.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 I thought Rashad Evans Vs. Keith Jardine was the best fight of TUF2, with Cummo Vs. Morgan coming 2nd. I don't like Rory that much, but honestly I would really like to see him smash Herman. I really can't stand him.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 Kalib posted this on the TUF forum, I figured I'd share......... By: Kalib (27) - Ignore user On: Jun 11, 2006 | 9:17 PM Thank you for your interest and criticism. The injury to my sternum occured in the first round from a roundhouse kick, however it wasn't until the knee in the second round that I felt it was appropriate to bring it to the attention of the referee, as I thought that the doctor should look at it before the fight continued, fearing permenant injury. The referee however ignored me completely as did my corner and the doctor in between rounds, the only people who seemed to care were Tito and Kendall. The injury I suffered was a costo-chondral seperation, as two of my ribs were torn off of the catilage of my sternum one more severley than the other, and it will never be the same as bone and cartilage do not grow back together so easily. Most people are unfamilliar with this type of injury, which takes longer to heal than broken ribs. For two weeks I could not sleep on my sides and it took approximately 10 weeks before I could do a single sit-up. It was extremely disappointing to see Ken Shamrock attack my character like he did, and to have him ignore me after the fight, one would think that he would give me the benefit of the doubt until some contradictory evidence presented itself. Forming opinions and making assertions with little or no evidence however is what made Ken into the great genius we see today and we should not expect this to change any time soon. I like Kendall and none of this should take away from his win, I still talk to him and wish him the best.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 What are you going on about? I didn't actually think I'd have to explain this, but it's an allusion to the fact that Dana criticized Kalib by calling him a quitter for stopping the fight due to injury, showing no sympathy or intelligence for that matter, much like Ken Shamrock. I used a famous quote from Season One where as usual Dana had to hog some screen time and blow up at them, because in that scene he has the same thoughts as he does regarding Kalib's situation, although he didn't repeat himself outright. Hence, cleverly pointing out Dana's stupidity in this episode with a quote from the first episode where he was also an ass, as well as putting an exclamation point on what Kalib had to say and thereby saying that he is right. All this within seven words, all caps, and the good ole' "~!", made famous by internet standards. Do you need me to go deeper?

Nope, it explains everything perfectly, and I agree with everything you had to say. What made me angry the most was Shamrock critizing Kristian. I mean the guy's head was fucking split open, and you expet him to be all up and ready to fight again in just a couple weeks? Fuck you Ken and Dana. I understand their criticsm of Tait, because he should've jumped at the oppurtunity. But what they said about Kalib and Kristian was bullshit. Dana looks like the devil in your signature, it's weird seeing him with hair, espically for an MMA newbie. And Damaramu, I don't know where those pictures are from, my guess is Team Punishment training camp. In the group photo, you notice Joe Stevenson and the guy on his knee looks like Josh Burkman. Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2006 More from Kalib: Ken does excellent circuit training on the weights, the best I've ever had. We did it once in seven weeks. Dan was a very nice guy. Roman was an excellent boxing coach. We had no wrestling or jiu-jitsu training to speak of. Ed and I taught Soloman, Tait, Mike, Jesse etc. at the gym and in our spare time at home on the carpet. We were only allowed to train at designated times, which was absolute crap if you ask me. I came there in excellent shape and left in the worst shape I've been in in years, this is not an excuse for my loss by the way, I was beaten fairly, it's just a fact. In the seven weeks prior to my semifinal fight I had about two weeks worth of good training. Ken stopped me from training with Ed, my best sparring partner, because he thought we may end up fighting later on. Every day going to the the gym was a disappointment and I did not want to be there at all, which is not the way I am usually As expected, Ken's boxing coach was at least pretty good. starvenger 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2006 More from Kalib: Dan was a very nice guy. Guess that's Kalib's way of saying "I still don't know why the fuck we needed a nutritionist when, you know, a jiu-jistu guy would've been good, but he did what he was there to do, so good on him." Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Man I'm amped up for today, I can't wait. Although Ross is likely to lose in the 1st round, I can't help but root for him. He has the heart of a warrior, I really wish he does well in his MMA career, he's got charisma.
Adam 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Everytime I see Ross I can't help but be reminded that he has the mental capacity of the Hulk. "I'm gonna smash his face in" = "Hulk Smash!"
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Bisping, Herman and Haynes- Let's get it. If Ross makes it out of the first round it'll be a small miracle.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Forbes will run through Haynes much like Herman should but won't run through Rory.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 I'm going with Rory with the upset. I think he will have extra motivation to whoop Herman's ass, after Herman pisses on his stuff(As seen in the previews).
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 I wish Ed would win. I just cannot stand Rory. He's such a dick. I don't know what to think about them having 3 fights on 2 episodes. I guess the two LHW fights must be short otherwise there won't be much time for development.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Season 1 had both LHW semis on the same episode, and I think Season 2 had an episode for each division's semis.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 I wish Ed would win. I just cannot stand Rory. He's such a dick. I feel the exact opposite of this. And why the hell do you want Haynes to win? The same guy that said beating Gollum in the semi-finals was equivalent to his son living through a brain tumour and marrying his wife? Whattadouche. CBR: "I hope Bisping knocks off a piece of Haynes' head and gives it to his son" Indeed.
