A girl my age that had a really bad car accident back in January and came through the Rehab Center where I work in March, she managed to recognize (I Guess its not that hard) my photo on one of the sites I put up a profile on (I guess it helped I put that I work at a Rehab Center) and sent me a message. Took me a while to remember her, but since we dont get many patients younger than 60, it wasn't that hard. We've struck up a couple of email conversations since yesterday.

 

And yes, she is permanently confined to a wheelchair, but its a cool one..its purple of all colors.

Its not hard to find girls to chat with on the net. The problem I have is everything beyond that.

 

And Christina (girl in the wheelchair) contacted me, so whatever. I had totally forgotten about the site she found me on too. Shes said shes only looking for friends to talk to right now as shes still going through a lot of troubles related to her accident. Apparently, her husband filed for divorce like 3 days after her accident and wouldn't let her two girls see her while she was in the hospital for 3 months. Im guessing all of that still hasn't been settled yet.

 

Oh, and Im not going on Howard Stern. I dont feel like embarassing myself in front of how ever many people listen to his show now.

I'm in a wheelchair myself, and people that are generally have some cool stories to tell. Sexual function can be a bit iffy though so keep that in mind but if it doesn't bother you then go for it.

I was chatting with her tonight before RAW and she was telling me how she used to hustle guys at pool for money and drinks and how shes looking forward to relearning how to play out of a wheelchair. She also said shes coming back for rehab where I work and theres a slight chance she might be able to regain the use of her legs but its like a really small chance.

 

Edit: She just sent me her myspace..Im back to not having one so I'll have to rejoin again.

Well first off, shes in Michigan, but you act like thats unheard of, but at least around here its common.

 

Mardela Springs is about 10-15 minutes before you get to Salisbury which means its about 20-25 minutes away from me.

Times have changed I guess. Back in the day it was common for people to have kids at 20 yrs old. It was more odd not to have kids at 20yrs old than it was to actually have kids at a later age.

 

 

My mother was around 20 when she gave birth to me. Now most people wait until they're older.

Dont know. Even Im not stupid enough to worry about her anymore after I got the "call me back tomorrow" and in doing so get a ringing phone, and 2 more subsuquent calls got the same thing. Short of going to her apartment and asking her face to face (well..uh..not quite) theres wasn't anything else I could do.

Actually, 20 seems to be pretty late to have kids in the Delmarva area.

Lots of the girls around here have them at 18 and are already married. This tends to happen when you live in a very serious "birth control is bad" Christian zone. And people wonder why I aimed out of Delmarva for a girl. Bloody birth control hatin women.

I was gonna attribute it more to the lower shore being the last northern outpost of Rednecks but I guess what you say is true as well. I guess they sort of run hand in hand.

 

All I know is, most of the girls that I graduated with that I still know live around here have 2 or 3 kids, some are still with the fathers but most are trying to do the single mom thing. The ones that I dont see around anymore I assume went to college and moved far away..
