Shit. This virtually guarantees Angle isn't keeping the belt.

Please win, Orton.

The last thing I want to see is Rey winning the title, pointing to the sky for 20 minutes and 1000 Eddie mentions. And then the obvious title loss in a couple months, and quick shift down the card for eternity.

I actually think the last thing they need is Orton winning the belt and the fans sitting on their hands during the dastardly celebration.

He's a heel. They're not supposed to cheer. Besides, he's winning the title again sometime this year, so accept the pain you'll feel, Sault.

Damn... no Mark Henry this week.

He cuts a promo saying he won't be another victim to UT at Mania. He wears a suit and has a fancy ring set-up for it. His mic crapped out on him, so it'll have to be edited for the final show, I'm sure.

Nah, we need the end of Mania to be Orton winning the belt, and then Triple H... who won earlier in the night, comes out and celebrates. But wait... it doesn't stop there... they can then bring out the McMahon family, and we have the confetti drop, and nice long 10 minute promo about there being a new era in the WWE.

And I'm actually saying that in part to try and help Randy's career. if they give him the belt now, the lack of heat for him will kill the reign dead in the water. And I don't know if he can eventually recover from two failed title reigns.

Yeah, I'm sure you care so much for the boy.

This whole thing has been booked rather poorly.

I don't in the sense that I want him to succeed. But its not like they're going to give up for God knows what reason. And I'd much rather just get it done right and hope he stops sucking than this. If he adds a second failed title run to his name, He's done. No one will ever really care again, but the company will keep trying and it can only end it disaster.

And in the meantime, he'll be making the big names on Smackdown sell his deadly 'weakly sit on your chest as I jump from the top rope' and 'two feet to the face that you can't sell realisticly because I have to follow it up with a springboard rana' combo.

...

Fuck, looks like I'm routing for Orton.

Velocity:

*The Gymini defeated Paul London & Brian Kendrick.

*Orlando Jordan pinned Ace Steele.

*Vito pinned Funaki with an Impaler DDT.

Ugh, it's gonna be a real chore this week.

The finish to the Mexicools match needs to be seen. Super Crazy hits a top rope C4 on Kash.

Super Crazy has officially outdone Burchill.

When the hell will WWE quit jobbing London and Kendrick to the Gyminis? I guess it won't be stopping anytime soon, though.

I'm not sure that Rey's being jobbed out. These losses may just mean he'll have to defend the title against Henry, Orton, Finlay, and Angle (i.e., everyone who's beaten him this year) over the next couple months.

I'm more worried about Benoit. Doesn't look like he'll be retaining.

when Angle slaps the lock on Rey at WM, Cole and Taz will hype how he tapped out on SD and they'll spell out the doom and gloom, no way can Rey escape, it's all over blah blah blah etc. which will make him surviving and escaping the lock look that much better.

Wrestling observer's spoiler says;

"Super Crazy & Psicosis b Jamie Noble & Kid Kash when Crazy pinned Kash after an awesome exploder suplex off the top rope. Fun mat! ch with the expected Luchador influence. Roll-out sunset flips into drop kicks, a few quebradoras, and Psicosis did a nice corkscrew plancha"

* Isn't it a HUGE "no-no" in wwe to use other guys finishing moves? So an exploder sounds more right then a C4 to me...

I can see a Mark Henry defense, unfortunantly Henry will get buried at WM.

a Finlay fued wouldn't draw well outside of the "smark" crowd, which isn't as large as you would think.

I can see a rematch with Angle as his only PPV defense before dropping it to Orton who will transition to a returning Batista by Summerslam.

You were saying?

This finish is mind numbingly stupid. It's standard WWE policy to fuck things up, but this takes things to a new level of stupidity.

Man, all the non-finishes on Raw the other night colored my expectations. My prediction may have been wrong, but on the bright side we get a good match with a clean finish on free TV; I can't really stay upset about my poor prognostification skills.

And hasn't everyone been complaining that Kurt was more or less a nonetity during the buildup? This might be too little too late, but at least it's an attempt to get some more focus on Angle.

Teddy Long comes out and...announces Angle vs. Rey as the main event tonight.

And the logic behind giving away a Smackdown PPV main event, possibly one of the only ones they'll get out of Rey's probable title reign, is...?

It'll be a short match with a DQ ending.

*WWE World champion Kurt Angle defeated Rey Mysterio after Mysterio went for the 619 but was caught and pulled into the ring with an AnkleLock and Rey tapped. Orton hit the ring and he and Angle went at it. The show ended with Angle hitting the Angleslam and locking the Ankle Lock on Orton

I think they wanted to show a strong World Champion in Kurt Angle heading into Mania. Lord knows that after the past few weeks of almost losing to Undertaker and being pinned by Mark Fucking Henry, Kurt needs that in the biggest way.

^ Yeah, SOH had dark matches before both Raw & Smackdown. Probably due to "guys that are over 6'2" w/natural physiques" mandate from Vince.

I think at WM they will end up putting it on Rey, just if nothing else as a token "face wins the title moment." I'm sure that they could have Rey defend against the guys who beat him in TV matches, then have Orton beat him at a PPV. They might as well get this Orton push out of their system. Put the title on him, watch him tank again, then job him to someone.

That also sounds like a one-man "Spanish Fly", which is the move that the SAT's used to do in ROH and other indies. In other words, a two-man backflip Rock Bottom from the top rope.

Still, it doesn't take anything away from Burchill's C4, since his isn't done from the top rope and it looks more impressive being done by a bigger, non-cruiserweight wrestler.

Not really.

As soon as Cole and Tazz start screaming that it's the end then you just know that it isn't going to be, thus robbing the hold of any tension.

Damn... no Mark Henry this week.

I was surprised they had no TV build for their match at WM

yeah, you would expect the old "Henry beats up Taker and stuffs him in a casket then destroys the casket" routine.

You don't typically do a backflip with an exploder suplex. Just watch SD this week and you'll see.

And Henry DOES have a promo people.

Shit. This virtually guarantees Angle isn't keeping the belt.

Doesn't guarantee shit.

The WWE likes to swerve the fans using that logic.

The most notable one was when Eddie pinned Brock Lesnar on Smackdown right before he beat Lesnar for the title at NWO 04.

i was at kemper for the taping last night. here's some stuff that wasn't mentioned in the other spoilers...

the crowd was probably 90% full. it seemed really hot but who knows how that turns out on camera. john cena had the biggest pops in all the videos they showed on the tron. taker had the biggest live pop, and biggest heat would probably go to randy orton or mark henry at the end of his promo.

i think i may have gotten some tv time for my "shiver me timbers, paul burchill" sign. i also may have gotten a few seconds for my "mark henry: world's fattest man" sign.

the 6 man tag was probably **. mexicools/kash+knoble was around **3/4. the main event might have been ***3/4. angle/mysterio was extrmely hot, and i'd say it's easily as good as their match from summerslam 02 (my favorite in the series).

the dark main event was taker vs henry. it was horrible. i can not see how anyone thinks he is a good worker. if neither angle or taker can drag a good match out of him, and yet they can have a good match with each other and with countless other average workers, where does it leave henry?

that was about it. good show overall.
