therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2006 I'm disappointed in the decline of ESPN Classic. I don't want to see crappy "comedy" shows (Arliss), or the real-life 40 year old virgin (Schwab). And the constant billiards and bowling suck.

TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2006 What does the phone guy say in that one commercial? I can't decipher it. He says Hey Neil! Neil! It's ____, baby! the line being where he seems to be saying his name. It sounds like he says "Vegas" to me, but its really jumbled.

Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 They are showing new episodes of Cheap Seats on Mondays and they replay them on Thursdays.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 Cheap Seats is awesome. I wish they would get a little meaner. Although, the time they made fun of the person falling down the mountain during a skiing accident was pretty cool. Could they show more than old billiards and spelling bees on ESPN Classic otherwise? What happened to all the baseball and basketball games? Hell, if they are that desperate, why don't they show some classic pro-wrestling (more than that one fucking episode of 1981 Mid-South) since it's at least something people would actually be interested in watching? Maybe they could wedge it in between one of the endless "BUTTFUCKPOKERGALLERY.BIZ TOURNAMENT OF ASSHOLES YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF!" programs on any of their six or seven channels? Ooooo...cards on TV! Let me watch while I check my prostate!
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 They have aired all sorts of classic old basketball games this weekend.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 Oh, well, I hate basketball anyway, but I was just citing it as a legitimate sport. Could you please dump House from your sig? I hate looking at his face and refuse to watch his show for religious reasons. Maybe you could switch to using a dead baby? Those seem to be all the rage these days.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 There's religious reasons you can't watch one of the best network tv shows? Turn off sigs if you want to not see Gregory House's face.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 No, it's the fact that I believe the glut of medical shows on TV has something to do with a pact with Satan, and Jesus kicks Satan's ass! Medical shows have been on network tv since well... when tv was invented. You have something against medical shows? If I put up a HBO logo, will you bitch because HBO airs Autopsy? bob_barron 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 There's what, four medical shows on TV right now: House, Grey's Anatomy, ER and Scrubs. Compare to that to the number of procedurial/cop shows.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 Yes. I would think TV writers could invent another compelling setting for TV drama, rather than recycling the medical ward concept. I purposely refuse to watch any TV medical shows, reality shows, or law shows, because they represent a lack of creativity from networks that make billions of dollars every year and should be putting out more original programming than edgier versions of General Hospital. Yeah, exactly. Maybe there's more on the cable networks but those are reality based anyways (like Autopsy). He probably considers CSI a medical show which it isn't. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 CSI is a legal/cop show, of which there is a giant glut. Like with all the Poker shows...every week on ESPN or FSN you see an ad for some-website-you-never-heard-of's tournament to crown a champion or some crap. When TV networks are uncreative, it is our duty as viewers to punish them!

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 If Sherlock made as many mistakes/bad guesses to begin with, sure, House is like Sherlock. The closest current television characters to Sherlock Holmes, deduction-wise, is Adrian Monk and Det. Robert Goren. Not to say House is a bad character because I love the show. Guest Report post Posted June 25, 2006 I hate when ESPN shows highlights of games that took place 3 days ago. They do this all the time.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted June 26, 2006 Invader3k is reading like how I sounded as a 6th grader. Anyway, House is good, once you get past the formulaic intro, viz. "dum-de-dum, just hangin' around, doin whatever, maybe I'll run to the store and OH MY GOD I'M DYING" Though it's preferable to Law & Order's fifteen seasons of "dum-de-dum, just walkin' around New York, maybe I'll run to the store and OH MY GOD A DEAD BODY"
Slayer 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 I thought that was a typical New York Day As for House, you got the intro part down, then it goes: Doctors not-named-House: "We think the problem is (random disease/condition)" House: "You idiots, it's actually (different disease/condition)" *they fight about it for the next 45 minutes and then it turns out to be something entirely different from either of the original two guesses* I actually do like the show though
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 I have to admit that I miss Walton and Tolbert together on commentary. I haven't heard them do a game together in a while. I watched the clincher of the '03 Finals during the ESPNC marathon a couple weeks back, and they're a lot better together than that one black guy who usually is with Walton now. ("Snapper" Jones?) *cut to champagne bottles in the locker room* Walton: What is that? Tolbert: Cider, Bill. Hot apple cider.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 Walton doing the original commentary for Malice at the Palace was classic "This is a disgrace..."
