Also, if we got rid of him, we'd probably get the CronoT syndrome: where the first few days everyone is delighted it happens, but a few months later people get the itch to have him back. People can start to act like it isn't because it's becoming more of a common thing to say but let's be honest here. The word gay means two people of the same sex who're interested in each other. A lot of people don't like this and are put off by it. Kids perhaps learning from their parents or being scared of homosexuality themselves are now using the word to describe anything in a negative sense. The common phrase "This is so gay" is only ever used for negative purposes. Try to put yourselves in the shoes of a gay person. Now imagine going around and hearing everyone say "This is gay" as an expression whenever anything goes wrong. Yeah, how's that going to make you feel after awhile? Discriminated against?
