the max Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Good call by the refs on that as well. 3-1 after two, but Carolina seems to be coming on now...
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 CC, how's the remote handling all this work? It's been pretty hard not to flip between ball, hockey and Raw. I may have to introduce my dad's old technique of two TV's side by side.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 3-2 Oil now. Two straight Canes goals. Oil pp, they're 0-4 tonight with 3 shots. Seems like they've had a lot more, doesn't it?
CanadianChris Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 3-3, and the Oilers are looking like they're in deep shit. I turned off the ball game before Raw came on. It was obvious the Jays just didn't have it tonight.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 4-0 was the final, I assume? I stopped watching whole-heartedly in the seventh. Oil look in trouble. They look outplayed big time.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Ward makes a nice save to keep Dvorak at bay. The Oilers are done if they dont score on this pp.
KGB Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Pre-game is just starting. HNIC brought out "The place'll be rockin, it's Saturday night", which I don't recall hearing for years. Don't they play that every pregame show (isn't it the theme)? I wish they would play "The Chance May Never Come Again" again, though. They stopped playing that one a long time ago, but I've always dug it.
CanadianChris Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 4-3 Canes on a shorty. That should do it. The Oil looks shell-shocked.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Nah, they've used Nickelback's Saturday Night's Alright as a lead-up to the da da daaa da daaaaaaaaa most of this year. FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! 4-3 Canes. Williams scores on a shorthanded breakaway.
KGB Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Jebus, what's happening to the Oilers? They're really blowing it now.
CanadianChris Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Nah, they've used Nickelback's Saturday Night's Alright as a lead-up to the da da daaa da daaaaaaaaa most of this year. They use that for Saturday night games at the Corel Centre, too.
the max Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 MacTavish shouldn't have taken his timeout so early.
CanadianChris Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 My God, what a save by Ward. That's one of the biggest robberies I've seen this year.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 I'm fucking sick of Bob Cole. Great save or not, shut the hell up.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 I haven't sworn like this since the Raw from Montreal last August. FUCK! Gotta get it done on this PP Oilers. *BITES TONGUE! HEMSKY TIES IT! Edit: Shania Twain's 'That don't impress me much' as the song when a visitor scores? Genius.
KGB Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 AW FUCK! Roloson is hurt. Bergeron checked Ladd right into him. Stupid! Conklin replaces Roloson, oh dear God.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Conklin!? He went all Matt Hardy before the Heritage fucking Classic because it might be too cold! And he's FROM FUCKING ALASKA! How's he gonna handle this? Duffman has a bad feeling about this.
CanadianChris Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Aw shit. Oilers are screwed with Conklin.
CanadianChris Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Hands up, those who saw that coming. *raises hand*
Zetterberg is God Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 HOLY SHIT. Another unbelievable save by Ward.
mike546 Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 HORCOFF ROBBED AGAIN! Wow, what a fucking game.
KGB Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Ouch. I just knew Conklin would be involved in any major Oiler screwup that was coming. EDIT: Tremendous save by Cam Ward on Horcoff. Go figure.
the max Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 What a shame for a great game like that to be decided on a shit play. I've read a lot about M-A Bergeron and I was unimpressed with him tonight. Two bad plays by him when he lost his stick (one was a penalty on a check from behind, the other was a leg check at one of the Adams) and the hit on Ladd into his own goaltender was equally stupid.
CanadianChris Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Here's something bizarre...the Oilers banner in my sig stopped showing up on my monitor right before Conklin fucked up.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 SO: Oilers lose. Jays lose. Someone should really kick me in the sac while wasting beer and burning a Canadian flag. Just to complete the sweep.

He's got to be on his knees praying that Roloson isn't seriously hurt. Otherwise, there'll be a public hanging in Edmonton.
the max Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 The Oilers had better exhume Pat Morita and have him do his magical healing clap, because they need Roloson in net for game two. Ty Conklin ain't winning you anything.
Zetterberg is God Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 They just said that Roloson is out for the series. Well, that pretty much ends the Oilers' hopes unless Conklin plays way over his head.
