JHawk 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2006 I want to see the CZW vs. ROH match for the crowd alone. The debate has the potential to be the biggest squash in ROH history. And I don't think there's a chance in hell of Cabana taking the belt tonight but I'd love to see it happen.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 on-going results Match 1: Christopher Daniels defeats Claudio Castagnoli via pin. Loud CZW-ROH dueling chants to begin the evening. Crowd: 15% CZW - 85% ROH. Daniels shakes Claudio's hand after the match, and cuts a pro-ROH promo. Chris Hero appears, cuts promo "Great atmosphere." Hero setting the stage for the main event. Match 2: Delirious wins Four Corner Survival. Delirious forces Jimmy Jacobs to submit. With the win, thousands of young men and basement dwelling no-life losers began crying. Match 3: Tag Team Champions Austin Aries & Roderick Strong defeat Homicide & Ricky Reyes after Aries pins Reyes via 450 Splash Match 4: ROH World Champion defeats Colt Cabana with a rollup. Apparently, the pin came out of nowhere (common) and the match was short (uncommon). July 15 Return. Intermission. Attendance estimate- near 1,000. Match 5: Derrick Dempsey defeats Pelle Primuea with a spinebuster. Everybody, prepare your $20, because you will want to get this DVD when it is available- Bryan Danielson cuts a promo in the ring. Reall good, live. He told the CZW fans that he was a real world champion, and he'd prove it by taking all challenges...Bryan Danielson has accepted a title challenge from...DELIRIOUS. Match 6: Bryan Danielson defeats Delirious via ref stoppage. During the match, Delirious "sliced his hand real bad". Delirious was bleeding from the hand. Danielson forced the ref to stop the match after beating Delirious repeatedly with elbows to the head. Match 7: Briscoe Brothers defeat AJ Styles & Matty "Nice Try" Sydal after doubleteam Jay Driller. "great match, Briscoes over bigtime". Just got word from a friend who was there: CZW won. Claudio turned on Joe and teamed with Hero to beat the **** outta him. Super Psycho Drivered Whitmer off the apron through a table.

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 YES! Claudio and Hero for ROH Tag Champions!
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 It should be pointed out that Danielson actually beat Colt in 6 minutes, which might be the shortest ROH World title match ever. By all accounts, the main event was as expected very chaotic and insane with sick bumps galore.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 So they appear to start Delirious off with a win here and there, only to squash him moments later. Bah
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 So they appear to start Delirious off with a win here and there, only to squash him moments later. Bah No, the story is that Danielson tore Delirious apart with the huge gash in his hand and the ripped masked. This is just the start of Delirious and Danielson. Delirious also got out of the Chickenwing and Cattle Mutilation as well. It's showing that Delirious can wrestle Danielson but Danielson had to go to his fighting style to take him out as you can tell with the elbows finish. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 Any reason for Colt/Danielson being so short? Did Colt have an injury or something?
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 The reasoning given is that after fighting Homicide for so long, Colt's wrestling abilities are rusty. He is now going to work his way up from the bottom of the card back to a title shot to get ready.
Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2006 It's showing that Delirious can wrestle Danielson but Danielson had to go to his fighting style to take him out as you can tell with the elbows finish.Okay maybe I'm just missing the logic here since I'm not totally familiar with the ROH way of "telling a story" here but what does that even mean? that he had to resort to this "ultra bad ass style" that he hardly ever uses? A sign of desperation or frustration on Danielson's part that he couldn't beat him with his "normal style"? Help me Obi-Hawk Kenobi cause I just don't get it. Michrome 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2006 The idea is, Delirious was able to survive Danielson's usual finishers so Danielson had to go to his uber knockout finish to win it.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2006 Danielson, has been booked to be dangerous from all ranges as he can make you submit in a number of ways, piss you off just enough to make a mistake and he'll get a flash pin or he'll just flat out beat your ass senseless. Danielson, was trying to show the CZW fans in the crowd what a "real wrestler" does so he challenges Delirious because all the other winners in the first half of the show, he already beaten lately and he acted as if Delirious wasn't a real challenge. Delirious, stuns Dragon by being capable of wrestling with him. Danielson, has to resort to tearing at Delirious's mask and the gash in Delirious's hand and after failing to win via his trademark submissions... Danielson, simply beat the shit out of Delirious and the match was stopped. It's not that hard to follow that story, Delirious was a better wrestler then Danielson expected, so Danielson has to go to his vicious nature to beat the guy. Playing that off with the fact he mocked CZW for not being pure wrestling, he ends up having to bloody up Delirious and punching him out.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Any reason for Colt/Danielson being so short? Did Colt have an injury or something? According to Meltzer, Gabe had two reasons for making the match so short. He felt that the fans were there for the wild main event, and so wouldn't be into the usual long Dragon title match, and might even turn on it. The other reason is that he wanted to educate fans into believing that a title match can end at any time. All Japan had a problem with long main events, as no matter how good they'd be, the fans wouldn't react for the first 20:00 because they 'knew' the matches were always going long. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 With just one match, Gabe accomplished four things. The two things mentioned above, starting the current Cabana angle and putting Delirious over as a legit wrestler rather then a comedy performer.
