UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Hosted by Borash and Christy Hemme (who is great on the mic, btw). Premiere Episode is up. Samoa Joe Vs. AJ Styles from TNA's first house show (clips) Watch Joe show Cena how to do an STF out of a powerbomb. Joe then catches Styles in the clutch from the Backlund Bridge. Interviews (hosted by So-Cal Val, is this her first on-air role?) with Team Canada Team Canada Vs. Team USA six-man (complete) TNA Knockouts DVD preview. Really cool thing for fans who miss the hour shows, IMO, plus new content. I really think they should upload Impact a week after it airs. Discuss!
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Hmmm...should I count the Joe/AJ match into the win-loss records now? I know I have to with USA vs. Canada.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Normally I'd say no, but since they really seemed to be decisively introducing the guys and then putting Joe over big time, it kinda counts. Ya got two bells.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 It wasn't televised though...hmm Anyway, good show. Glad they're doing it. Maybe they could use a few minutes of it each week to give some X guys some personality and character. Oh, and Christy is hot.

Si82 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Interviews (hosted by So-Cal Val, is this her first on-air role?) with Team Canada Nope, she's been hosting Xplosion with Jeremy Borash.
daileyxplanet 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Some thoughts, in chronological order... I wish it was So Cal Val with Jeremy Borash instead of Christy Hemme. I realized that a promotion only has room for one red head and with Hemme, she's conquered territory, we've seen her naked, etc. And So Cal Val is a daring new venture. The house show clip was real nice. I loved the ending, it came out of nowhere. Aha, here's my girl. I'm glad to see Val's on this show. What is Tyson Dux wearing? Team USA vs. Team Canada... hmmm. I loved Young's attempt to slide out. A COMMERCIAL in the middle of a web show? What a sick sell when Young was sent outside. Goody, Shelley. Nash looks like he just finished playing Tiger Woods on the PS2 in that goofy hat and golf shirt. JB sounds like a car salesman, not a host for a wrestling show. Good news for Aussie fans. Is Rove McManus Carnival? He seems so proud to be El Kabong'd. Well, it was inevitable that a Knockouts DVD come out. Good news for minors without a computer for porn. Coolclint 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 The commercial in the middle of the match was because they didn't record commentary for that part; it was filmed to be on Xplosion, but I'm sure we'll see at least one more Xplosion match on Global Impact. But yes; Needs more So Cal Val.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 At least with commercials online they don't have to interrupt the match..?
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 I'm glad they decided to show the "Xplosion X-clusive" match this week, since pretty much no one outside of Florida gets Xplosion. As I was watching, I kept thinking how much better it'd be if they just streamed Xplosion (and taped more than one match for it). It'd give them a chance to flesh out the undercard and run angles for the PPV matches that always seem run together. Sure it wouldn't be seen by as many people as Impact, but if they treat it like a B and show clips of what happens on TV, it'd be better than the two options they have now: either cramming everyone into 1 hour each week or ignoring half the roster. Anyway, as for the rest of the show, I'd seen clips of the AJ/Joe match before on youtube, and since they clipped it, it didn't do much for me. Eric Young's promo was absolutely fantastic and the Knockouts preview was ok for what it was. Hopefully they continue to fine-tune it and eventually use it in the way I just described. RedJed 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Speaking of Xplosion, they should just have THIS show replace it, as I dont even watch the damn show anymore (I have it on my dish from Sun Sports) because its so pointless. Its moreless Impact material with Borash yapping his gums w/ guest host in between segments. And then the one exclusive match a week - which can stay, but the rest needs to be more original content for that show like it is here. Just a thought. Astro101 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 BTW, on YouTube's homepage, the Global Impact is the first one listed and is among the most viewed with over 120,000. Pretty nice internet exposure for TNA.
Carnival 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Is Rove McManus Carnival? He seems so proud to be El Kabong'd. "...and oh, no! Carnival gets blasted with the guitar! Jarrett's not going for a cover though, he's seems a little hesitant due to the very noticeable bulge in Carnival's pants."
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 This is the type of content we should see on Impact. I know I would be much more inclined to continue to watch A.J. Styles vs. Samoa Joe than if I switched over in the middle of a Jeff Jarrett/Sting confrontation. TNA was at it's best when it debuted, as it was about the in-ring action at that time. Once Vince Russo showed up and after he left, it seemed like the promotion struggled to find it's identity.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 The in-ring action got a fan base. Now they're trying to capture the casual audience. It's always about finding an identiy with TNA. They've got the stars, the wrestlers, the production, and the network. They just don't have the identity, they never had.

I remember a six-way the two were involved in on like the third or fourth show TNA ever did, it may have been one of my most favorite matches in TNA's history.
