The OAO "Who's Actually Excited" thread

Recommended Posts

This thread may die faster than a crackbaby in a dumpster but I thought that I would at least express my mild excitement as to what appears to be some nice developements in the upcoming weeks in WWE. Now I now that everybody has already railed on Mysterio and the new ECW but I for one am actually looking forward to the match between JBL and Rey. Rey can still put on a helluva match and JBL as a two time champ will at least be entertaining. I hope that he keeps the US Title too...it just means he can be cockier. We might even be able to see Benoit get a couple of good shots in too before they ship him to

ECW! We will never get the real ECW back but this will be as close as possible and with Heyman allowed to book and Vince's apparent support. it will definately be worth watching and I think that the ratings will get it plenty of TV soon enough and while Heymans having fun making new and better stars out of Vince's castaways we can watch the renunion of

DX! Come on...it has to be right around the corner...HHH is the best thing on TV right now and I was definately in Markville when he and HBK stopped on the ramp Monday night...Vince and his cronies against the real DX will be badass and I for one don't want to miss any of this during the next few weeks...DX, ECW and JBL make for some good tv...and it sounds like Vince knows it and wants to make what could be his last real run a memorable one...and who knows where this might lead?

I said it in other threads but I'll say it again. I am excited. The possibilities are out there and rumors are rampant about what could happen on either brand. Some of the news is great, some of it is horrendous, but it could at least be a baby step in the right direction.

I hope they can carry everything over to next week and have it work just as well.

I thought the happiest day of my life was when I got to go New Year's Revolution in Puerto Rico my first time ever seeing WWE live but the show sucked except for the Elimination Chamber. But now I get to see sooooo many of my favorite Wrestlers on a house show which probably means there will be much better work rate! I can not describe how excited I am!

Maybe to the americans it's not as exciting but I've been a wrestling fan my whole life and haven't had much chances to see them live....Rey Mysterio , Paul London , Kurt Angel , Spanky , Lashley...I love them all and I get to see them now! I love Benoit too but I saw him at New Year's Revolution. Booker T too! I am completely excited about WWE...well just wrestling general. I love the business no matter what.

Having any excitement for ECW will just lead to failure. No matter what happens, it's just a glorified Velocity/Heat. One Night Stand was fun. Seeing that every week will get tiresome, very quickly.

DX... meh. The only thing I'd be somewhat interested in is HHH getting a desperately needed change to his boring character that hasn't changed for like 7 years now.

ECW, DX.

What's next, the NWO? Why the fuck don't they move on from early 1998? The way that people continue to drink the kool-aid amazes me.

Umm, talking about doing stuff means nothing. I want to see it. Once I see DX come back and they are doing a good job, then I'll be happy. If it is just a shell of it former self, then I'll be very disapointed. But how can DX be good if HBK love Jesus? And will Triple-H put himself over more than the DX name?

And the whole ECW thing is nice and all, but, how is it going to work? Is it going to be on TV? Who is going to wrestle for it? Does Paul REALLY have total control? What arena's will they wrestle in? Can RVD carry the promotion? Too many question to be answered for me to be excited.

And I could give two shits about Rey and JBL. I haven't seen a match/interview/video or anything that has the belt around Rey. And do we REALLY know that JBL is going to win? No, we never do.

The thing WWE needs is good storylines and that will bring me back every Monday and Saturday(Yankee baseball has SD on Saturdays).

Plus Edge needs to get the title back.

Well they tried the NWO and it was good for about two weeks but that was a WCW creation and Hulkamania killed that...as for talking and hinting about something I guess that everyone should be happy that they're not just hotshotting a DX reunion out of no where..it makes some sense that these two former best friends who tried to kill each other wouldn't just jump back in the saddle again..but the night it happens will be gold and I want to be there to see it....you know there was a time when WWF(e) tried to follow the "norm" and got severly sidelined by a proposed heel getting massive support...if the people want a DX reunion as their chants would indicate then I say go for it...and ECW will work at least for a while

DX is just another excuse for HHH to take up time on TV and jerk off and get to do it with his good buddy Shawn. That they did the DX reunion in 2002 and HHH turned on Shawn and are going for it again is typical WWE bullshit.

The ECW shows are going to be taped before a WWE audience, in a WWE arena, in a WWE ring. Explain how I am supposed to be excited about this? Because it will lead to an ECW/WWE feud? When has the WWE ever been capable of pulling off something like that? It will fail. But YAY we get Joeys worthless SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT promo. The WWE is about as fresh as 10 year old buried corpse.

Guess what? Vince is trying to relive 1997 with DX, SS in Montreal, ECW making an invasion, in what I assume is a futile attempt at recreating the circumstances that led to his last boom. It's sad and pathetic and indicative of a company that has no real sense of direction. The WWEs good wrestlers are slowly fading away and their prospects for the future suck. The shows suck. The matches suck. The wrestlers suck. The writing sucks. Vince McMahon gropes a chick throughout the night and sticks his tongue down her throat and I am supposed to be excited about the company he runs? Where he has completely forgotten about the GM situation because he's having too much fun on camera? Where JR gets "fired" on TV, where we have to put up with insulting skits that have no benefit other than to serve Vinces ego, just for JR to be brought back a few months later? It's clear this is a vanity promotion and it always will be. Oh yeah!! WWE IS HOT!~

Seriously. What the fuck is the point of DX. It's Shawn and HHH. They're getting close to 40.

I think the scariest part is that there's actually someone that's paying wrestlers to do this stuff.

WWE has been trying to re-capture the attitude era ever since it died. Doing that has really had little affect on the overall product. I still like WWE, even if it's not really that great right now. I'll be a fan to the end.

Smackdown was really good, but now it looks like it's going into a lull. Still lots of potential for a good matchups on that show, though.

Raw has the Trish/Mickie feud which will pick up again soon. I still want to see the conclusion to that one.

Mid-Life Crisis, Duh. You know, like Hall and Nash with the WolfPac. Get some younger guys to hang around with and oggle big tittied women, all the while, making smart ass shoot comments that bury everyone and help no one. God I can't wait! ARE YOU READY?!

Carlito can be their Konnan and give them their latin street cred. Rob Conway can be their Disco Inferno-like lacky.

What I love is the eventual DX partnership will eventually break up and we will get HHH vs. HBK part 5 billion.

Trish/Mickie is so exciting the crowd goes silent so they don't miss a word. Lil Retard is Smackdowns champ, and Mark Henry is one of their top guys. We get a worthless sack of shit in The Great Kahli burying the cruiserweights leading up to a shitty feud and match with Taker guaranteeing that Singh is gone by the start of fall. And lets not forget the return of the DIVA SEARCH!! Maria is sooooooooooo hot, guys. I can't wait. I'd diss the tag divisions, but what tag divisions?

The only time I will ever get excited about the WWE is if they made drastic changes to the writing team (which includes getting rid of Steph) as well as the way they present and produce the shows, until then, they could sign Randy Couture to feud with Kurt Angle and their first encounter could be amazing and I'd still know they were going to fuck it up, because that's what they (the WWE) do. Anyone getting excited because of how "fresh" Cena/Edge/HHH is, which is just HHH being HHH with two new shmucks, or because Joey Styles made comments that Paul Heyman said on Smackdown 4 1/2 years ago and which Joey made constantly 6+ years ago, needs some perspective. When RAW starts up it will be the same opening with the same announcers under the same format they have been using for 10 fucking years. The same stupid writers led by the same stupid woman writing for the same stupid Vince. I've stopped getting excited about any minor change in WWE programming because it never lasts and it all turns out the same way and nothing actually ever changes. How some people haven't learned this after 5 years is mind-boggling. How some people haven't learned this after the night ECW came back and ended with Steph owning the company, or after HHH turned on every partner he had, or after Vince does, well, everything Vince does. There is no hope.

Fuck. Why do people have to start silly fucking threads like these?

I've been excited about WWE's general direction since a couple of weeks after Eddies death. To me, that was the point where they started busting out good shows on a more consistent basis.

Things like the reformations of DX and ECW are an added bonus to me.

RavishingRickRudo gets the prize for bitterest sounding smark ever. Just stop fucking watching and end your pain!

Yeah, for real, whenever I see a company blatently exploit the death of a worker, I see that the future is bright. Eddies death really helped put things into perspective for the WWE, and helped them see how much they could milk someone dying. Like, that stuff with Orton that all turned out to be completely fucking worthless? That's high-end stuff, right there. The WWE is peaking on all levels.

There's not going to be another boom period as long as the brands are split. As long as there are two separate rosters, anything can't happen in the WWF. RAW has been pretty good as of late at creating "shades of gray" characters and chaos on the show. But that excitement will quickly fade once they've exhausted all feud and match possibilities. They could have the best roster of all-time, and they are throwing it away.

When was the last time they had a war between two really big stables? That's always been a staple of a boom period.

The only thing that I'm excited about is that the ECW vibe is in the air and thats pretty much it. I'm not to excited that ECW will be back because I want to see it before I get to be happy that its back.

DX? Why is anyone excited for this? Why would anyone want this to happen? It won't draw ratings and the only thing that it'll lead up to is either HBK or HHH turning heel and then the two start a feud together. Hell I don't even know if they could add anyone new to DX. I'm sure the WWE will want to, but what on-air talent actually has that DX vibe to them? If anyone says Carlito your lying to yourself so stop it.

The Raw title doesn't matter right now because its STILL HHH vs Cena and the fucking spirt squad is involved. Which I'll admit I do like the gimmick, but I don't like how they're being used to add to major story lines and why the hell was anyone even thinking that Kenny could win the title last week? Why the hell were people thinking that it would be a good shock if Kenny won the title last week? It wouldn't be a good shock it would be bad booking. The only reason why the general WWE auidence knows him is because he's apart of the spirt squad and thats really it. Hell the only reason why last weeks crowd actually knew his name was because people were saying it all night long in promos. Why have someone who is basically nameless and just a face in crowd of 5 random people win the title?

The smackdown title is screwed up because instead of booking Rey as a champion who'll take anyone cause he knows he can beat them, WWE is booking him as a underdog champion and I'm sorry you don't do that with your heavyweight champion and Mark fucking Henry is STILL....STILL in the title scene.

So yes the only thing I'm actually excited with in WWE right now is the ECW vibe thats in the air and thats basically the only reason why I'm watching.

Fuck smarkishness, I enjoy Raw. Maybe it's because they're getting desperate, but they're throwing a lot of shit against the wall to see what sticks, and I like that. ECW, the Edge/Cena/HHH fued, Mickie James, RVD/Shelton, Carlito, The Spirit Squad, Umaga. It's all good.

the starter of this thread is obviously excited with the direction the WWE is going, that's why he started it...if he's excited, why shit all over him for it? Different strokes for different folks...personally, I think it's crap, but don't kill the guy for being excited about the product.

Well, I'm not excited but I am enjoying small parts. I'm enjoying HHH being funny, I just don't want him to get the belt. I enjoy RVD, I just don't want him to talk. I like the moves the squad pulls off, I'm just tired of them being involved in every segment it seems like and being allowed to talk. I find Cena entertaining when he's not using gay jokes every five seconds and pathetic lazy SNL humor. Carlito has improved in every area and is slowly becoming fun, although for once I'd love for people to explain why he and RVD are suddenly best friends forever.

But excited is also an indication that I am ready to spend money on this company and that's not happening. The return of DX doesn't interest me at all, it's another lazy attempt that serves no purpose other than to keep Vince around. Edge sucks, in and out of the ring and I'd rather HHH get the belt more than Mr. Angry face with his mic skills that are just barely above RVD. The return of ECW sounded like a bad idea from the start and it's slowly sounding worse although it has potential to become a positive but other than support from Shane it sounds like eventually it will meet the ego of the McMahon.

I'll never stop watching, as long as they deliver something to watch and make fun of with my friends then I don't care. Remaining slightly enjoyable on some level and I'll always be intrigued.

The thing that excites me know about Raw is that it now has a unpredictable feeling about it. Ever since Cena got HHH to tap cleanly at WM22, Raw seems to be all over the place, but in a good way. Like anything could happen. Styles "OMG SHOOT" was basically something that they needed in order highlight that feeling that anything could happen.

People forget that DX wasn't just HBK and Triple H...they had Chyna and Rick Rude, then X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws. Two guys together is just a tag team, and I don't see what purpose teaming these two together at this point is going to accomplish.

Frankly, I think the DX rumors are a little overblown...Triple H and HBK have been interacting on TV in various ways for the better part of five years now, and their characters are basically interlinked to some degree. Now that HBK is doing crotch chops again, everyone assumes DX is coming back?

You think Umage adds to the good direction WWE is going? I like his manager(I love that whole Cuban cool, cigar smoking thing!), but the Umaga character is just a Headshrinkers ripoff. At least the Headshrinkers were believeable!
