KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Another promo heavy post-PPV show, but there are a LOT of things to look forward to for the next month or more. Watts and Axel out of power is a VERY intriguing development and the whole "HD in Anarchy" thing should be fun to watch for the next little bit. Good job working the PPV delay into it, Adam. Overall a very good story-building show as pretty much every segment either foreshadowed something or just plain threw a curveball at us.
Adam 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Wow. That show was great, top to bottom. Seriously. It reminded me of one of those rollercoaster-ride RAW's from 2001. Everything came off great. Zack's angle with the SWF guys, Hoff and Drek as the bastard heels, PK continuing his quest to regain the title. Everything worked this week. Well done guys. The next couple of weeks are going to be incredible, I'm telling you right now.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 It was a really good show. The updates on the OAOAST Board meeting throughout the show gave it an important feel, and everyone's promos were on. I like the direction being taken with the SWF guys, as well. Good stuff.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Wow, what a shitty show. Nah, kidding, just thought I'd change things up a bit, keep you all on your toes. I said ‘PR, what do you think. Tha Puerto Rican versus AJ Flaire at the Pay Per View. Are you in?’ And he said ‘boss, I’m honoured. I can’t wait. The contract is signed; it’s faxed to you now. Well no wonder PR didn't show up, nobody uses fax machines anymore! What is this, 1972? Anyway, pretty good post-PPV show. Count me in on being really interested about the SWF angle, although that's probably a given considering I'm an SWF guy myself.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Wow, Josh Matthews sure got slapped around this week, didn't he? And KC was right, we need to use Maria more.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 I'm shocked and appalled KC said nothing about Bloodshed's random mention of having beaten the SWF World Champion three times
NYU 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 As others have said, although this show was definitely promo-heavy, it had the feel of a big-time show that's setting up major storylines for the future. I liked Axel addressing the Living Anglelously mess in his opening promo. I also thought it was clever to address the missing PRL/AJ Flaire match in storyline fashion. I'm a huge mark for the Christian Wright/Bohemoth combination. I have to figure KC has a thesaurus ready when he writes Christian's promos. I'm also excited to see Wright/Bohemoth getting a tag title shot at Syndicated. I'm going to predict now that they won't win, but I would love it if they did. Perhaps my second favorite team ever behind Chicks Over Dicks. Cool Rodez promo. I liked Maria attacking him afterwards -- flashbacks to the WWE Hardcore 24/7 thing, for sure. I just really hope this isn't the end to the whole Alix/Rodez/Krista Love-and-Hate Triangle. I liked Peter Knight rationalizing that Alfdogg hasn't beaten him in a fair fight one-on-one yet. It's always good for the heel to actually believe in his own heart that whatever cause he is fighting for is the correct one -- which is clearly what Knight is doing here. It sets up the feud nicely for the big blowoff at School's Out. I'm definitely interested in the whole SWF Invasion idea so far. I'll admit it -- I had absolutely no idea that was coming at Living Anglelously. Didn't predict the partners. Didn't predict the wild ending. That unpredictability continued this week with all the tension in the ring. From the tension between Zack and Bloodshed/Blank...and the tension between Zack's Alliance/Jackson & O'Hara....this feud is getting more intriguing by the week. But hey, if these new SWF guys want to leave some type of feedback too in the near future, I wouldn't have a problem with that. So yeah. I really really liked Hoff's promo. I actually loved his interaction with Jackie, showing how much Hoff has changed since he came back into the federation. And I like how he always plays nice and friendly with a jobber before going out into the ring and destroying them -- he did it with Igor at one point. And he did it with Jarvo last night. And "Aw, thanks, mate! That's kanga-riffic!" wins my Line of the Night award. I thought my segment was amazing. But pssh. That goes without saying. Watts giving up his presidency caught me by surprise, as did Axel suddenly losing his spot as General Manager. I was impressed with the way PK spaced those segments here. By putting the Axel announcement immediately after the Watts one, he gave this real sense of anarchy and urgency to the matter. Suddenly, for the first time in a long time, nobody's in charge of the OAOAST. I'm excited to see where that goes from here. Hoff vs. Jarvo Aussie -- Short and sweet. Put Hoff over as a monster and showed America > Australia forever. Cool beatdown to close out the show with Zack and Jackson/O'Hara. I can only imagine the retaliation the SWF superstars are going to come back with next week. I have a feeling Bloodshed's actions at Living Anglelously are going to pale in comparison to what happens next Thursday. Syndicated looks like it's going to be a STACKED show. Main Event of Drek Stone & Hoff vs. Black T in a steel cage. Christian Wright & Bohemoth vs. The Heavenly Rockers for the Tag Team Titles. The return of the Love Shack. And anything else I forgot to put here or I don't know about yet. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Hellvua show, especially for one as promo heavy as this week. Everybody brought their A-game. Kudos to all. Excellent promo to start the show, a sign of things to come with everybody cutting some of their finest. I really liked how Adam found a way to work the problems with LA into a storyline. Syndicated makes sense, fool. The show is in syndication! I knew I should've gone with Worldwide Superstars of Wrestling Challenge. CW & Bo vs. The Heavenly Rockers should be a dandy. Add me to the list of people who think Maria should be used more often. I even called for it months ago. So once again I'm leading the way for change in the OAOAST. Err, I'm rambling again. Anyway, damn fine Leon Rodez promo that nearly turned into an erotic thriller (at least for me) as Maria pondered. The May 19th parody was funny and neat little twist with Maria trying to win the 24/7 title. PK delivered one of his strongest promos to date. You could feel the fire in his heart. The SWF guys have really added a spark to the show and the characters of Zack, the GPX and O'Hara. Not even a week old and this storyline is one of the best going on. Good stuff from Hoff this week. Funny bit with Jackie and Jarvo. Then the tension with Drek Stone! Watts resigning was a major shocker, as was Axel being demoted as GM. Great twists. Poor Jarvo. And hot angle to end the show. My segment got left off, but I'll save it for next week and make a few revisions to reflect the happenings this week.
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 This was a really well put together show, especially considering it's a post PPV show. I'm sorry about the lack of HTML versions of the shows, I'm busy with school and I'll try to get that back up after I have my finals, so when I come back as a wrestler as well
