Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2006 once again I ask people to point at the Timberwolves teams that should've gone further in the playoffs than they did. People always talk about playoff futility with some players, but ignore the fact that the other teams were simply better and they weren't supposed to win those playoff series. When they finally got a team they could actually beat (The Nuggets) they beat them. Talk to me when his team pulls a 90's Seattle supersonics every year. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2006 Exactly. If the numbers are there, it doesn't matter a fuck what he did in the postseason. Maybe not to us, but there's obviously other factors that weigh into the voters' minds. Keep in mind, Dominique Wilkins wasn't voted in on the first ballot, and Adrian Dantley and Bernard King still have yet to get in.

Garnett would likely hit the "magic number" for both points and rebounds and probably end up top 50 all time in assists as well. That combination basically guarantees him the spot unless he kills someone or gambles on the game.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted May 14, 2006 Nice of Nice Guy Adam to chime in after somebody refutes me already. Is this a pattern or what? I'm sure eventually Garnett will get to the finals or even win a championship before he's done, but aren't these just empty numbers if they don't get him anywhere? The postseason isn't everything, but geez, it's SOMETHING, otherwise, what the hell are we watching this for?
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2006 If the playoffs meant something there'd be Tim Duncan commercials during every break considering he has 3 rings, 3 Finals MVP's and isn't a supersized Big Mac meal away from being useless. Meanwhile, we get non stop Bron Bron and he's won a whopping 5 postseason games in his life. The NBA is a superstar/numbers driven league. Championships are entirely optional. Guest NYankees Report post Posted May 14, 2006 The problem with Tim Duncan is that he is boring, doesn't have a personality and barely shows emotion. He isn't marketable. Get over it.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2006 The problem with Tim Duncan is that he is boring, doesn't have a personality and barely shows emotion. He isn't marketable. Get over it. That's exactly why the NBA ratings continue to tank year after year. When winning is irrelevant because marketability is more important, you've lost the point of having a game where results matter.
