deancoles Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 If the Czechs had a good Centre Back they would have won Euro 2004, I'd back them to get to the semis if they can avoid playing Brazil in the 2nd round Spain are the ones I've heard nothing about, the centre midfielders of Fabregas,Xavi,Alonso and Senna is the best bunch in the tournament, some good defenders and Villa up front.

Holland haven't in a while, but I think Van Basten's contribution in his short time in charge has been a bit understated going into this tourney, I think they could be runners up behind Brazil.
Guest CurryMan Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 I have the feeling that Spain could "surprise" this WC but they really need to let Raul stay on the bench, he hasn´t proved anything these last seasons and I´m not even sure he should be in the squad. Czechs are good but the thing is that players like Nedved, Poborsky among others has really grown old and Nedved wasn´t that impressive this season in juventus but who was? They play a fun style of football but I don´t count them as high as say the european cup 2004.

Holland are going through a transistion, they've shifted out the Ajax 95/96 generation(Seedorf,Davids,Kluivert,Reiziger) and are putting the faith in youth, leaving our Huntelaar is baffling. They'd be worth a bet on the next Euros though.

They also have Iniesta and Xavi as options as well as Reyes/Joaquin out wide if they want. Villa might just be the man to take them that bit further if he's given the chance.

Not just the goal, but his touch was good and he pulled out a couple of nice tricks for good measure. The robot was class too. And yet, for every positive, there's an Owen Hargreaves.

Sweden has always shown the premiership and english football since the 70s so there is alot of hate/love toward the english national team so a win against them in the groupstage would be great but the feeling isn´t like if we would face Norway or Denmark. OMG that Crouch video is one of the greatest things ever! Hopefully he will do the dance but not against Sweden

The US already beat Mexico to qualify for the World Cup, but I don't remember the score, though. I remember it happening because there was quite an uproar over in Mexico for the loss. Friday debuts Germany vs Costa Rica and Ecuador, my home country, vs Poland (who just had a loss to Colombia 1-2). I like our chances, so I hope we make it to the second round. Go Ecuador!

I've seen advertisements pop up on the screen from time to time during games, and the announcers do plug some commercials also during the game. This could change from place to place, I think.

Well september, early november is most usual. hahaha funny joke a team making it that far in europe. I don´t see a team from Sweden making it that far but Norway and Denmark has had some teams making a succesfull run Rosenborg from Norway is most famous I guess. Its more usuall now that teams here in Sweden atleast when they are building new arenas that they are getting astroturf or some kind of grass with straws of astroturf in it. They fields are pretty bad in the spring because of the harsh winters. This year alot of opening games had to be pushed forward because of the damn cold winter.
