jwest27 Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 3 straight games with a homer for Albert. Would be unbelievable if it wasn't the Royals, but still awesome.
Guest Felonies! Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Cubs are up 6-4. There'd be more traffic in TWIB if Spoon didn't decide that race-baiting in NHB made for a better baseball thread
Bored Posted May 21, 2006 Author Report Posted May 21, 2006 A's are getting one hit by Matt Cain today. Ya I know he was a hot prospect coming into the season but he also had a 6.69 ERA coming into today. This is one stinky first place team and they will still be tied for first as the Rangers lost with a stellar 22-21 record.
naiwf Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 The Phillies version of Alex Gonzalez retired today. I'm sure that will make some fans of the team quite happy. The ESPN2 Bottom Line says Minnesota received approval for an open air stadium in downtown Minny. Is that a retractable roof stadium? or are the bitter cold months up there just not part of baseball season?
Vampiro69 Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 There are cold days up in Minnesota. That is why I am surprised why they didn't get the retractable roof like Seattle has.
Guest StylesMark Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 As Aaron Small pitches, Morgan informs us that Chacon may go on the DL, to be decided tomorrow.
mike546 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 jesus fucking christ. Matsui, Sheff, Pavano, Crosby, Farnsworth, Posada, Bernie playing with a hurt BUTT, Damon playing with a broken toe, and now Chacon!? Am I missing anybody?
Guest StylesMark Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 No...but I'm sure you can put Wright and Randy up there in the next 2-3 weeks.
strummer Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Aaron Heilman and Billy Wagner have been a clone of each other this year so far. When they have their control, forget about it, unhittable. When they don't, disaster
mike546 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 12 left on in 7 innings. The bottom of the order (cabrera, stinett, ect ..) is killing this lineup.
Guest StylesMark Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Cabrera and Stinett are very shitty. Heilman worked his way out of that one.
strummer Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 ahh, the joys of being a Met fan. Gotta love it.
mike546 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 A-Rod, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!? I even wrote this post before he actually hit into the double play, thats how sure I was he was going to fuck up.
Guest StylesMark Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 A-Rod is the king of the double play. They needed a Giambi single.
Guest StylesMark Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Meh, we might see how well Wagner can recover from yesterday. A-Rod benched...rightfully so. Mr Anti Clutch.
Guest StylesMark Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 ... It's happening again. Oh fuck...Stinett, nevermind.
mike546 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 See, this is where having half of your lineup out is going to kill you.
mike546 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Oh well, they gave it their all. I'm happy with one win against the Mets considering half of our team is out. and a big FUCK YOU to A-Rod, worthless sack of shit.
naiwf Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Praise be to A-Rod! Wagner does a good job in 2 out of 3, but that one shitty outing cost us the sweep and Pedro another 'W'. At least Glavine got # 282. Now if we can just avoid getting swept by the Phils with Trachsel and two automatic losers I'll be content.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 and a big FUCK YOU to A-Rod, worthless sack of shit.
Guest StylesMark Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Hopefully, Sheffield will be back in a few weeks. No, they didn't do too bad, with Bernie, Stinett, Melky, Small. Had a nice rally against Wagner...just the wrong guys up to close it out.
mike546 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 I find it funny reading all these Sox boards with fans saying "Bring em' on" "Bring on the Yanks" blah blah blah. Bring on what? A team with only 4 regulars in the lineup? Yea ok.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Wow, the Cubs with a comeback win. I didn't see anything but the first inning, but when I heard it was 4-2 Sox in the eighth, I figured sweep. I thought my friend was putting me on when he said his dad had told him the Cubs won. And AJ's still a piece of shit. I wish Zambrano had beamed him.
vivalaultra Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Well, the 'Stros got a complete game 5-hit shutout from Taylor Buchholz, which is a great sign. He had given up 16 runs in 7 2/3 innings, but completely dominated the Rangers, a very good hitting lineup. Hopefully he's more like the pitcher that went today than the one that went out against the Dodgers and the Giants. Although I'm not a Sox fan nor a Cubs fan, and I think the two biggest douchebags in all of baseball are AJ and Barrett, I must say that I found it hilarious when Pierzynski mocked Zambrano's "givin' props to the man upstairs" hand gesture thing after hitting a homerun.
