2GOLD 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2006 From PWInsider: As expected, the Sci-Fi Channel website has deleted the Extreme Championship Wrestling forum from their message board area. They actually created a folder for ECW? Every show gets one. Never known of one to be deleted though. That's really pathetic.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2006 I get that, but it hasn't even been officially announced. You've got to think that WWE bitched about them putting it up, and that's what got it taken down.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 20, 2006 Why would WWe care? It was probably deleted because of jackasses flooding it.
claydude14 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 Because in WWE land kayfabe reigns supreme. Why would they want the internet to know ECW has a timeslot when ECW even being reborn for a weekly show has never crossed the "WWE.com newswire" which has acknowledged ECW signing and the ECW V. WWE show but never ECW having their own timeslot? Also, I enjoy your route 666 picture as an avatar, only because if I had a family photo from 5 years ago now I'd have a route HHH as mine and I find that ridiculously ironicly hilarious. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 20, 2006 I guess it makes sense in kayfabe land, but they have to know that it's no secret to net fans. With all the leaks about ECW, I just can't see that they'd care about a folder on Sci-Fi's messageboard. If they were advertising, then yeah I could see it. Ha...that is funny about the avatars
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2006 ECW on The SciFi network I think will help boost the ratings of the network. Do you think that it could be the highest rated show on the channel? BSG averaged a 2.0 for this past season apparently. To someone earlier in the thread ... Just because ECW won't be the highest rated show on the network doesn't mean Sci-Fi is going to regret putting it on the air. Sci-Fi is usually dead in the water on weekdays. This week they're premiering Komodo vs. Cobra in what will be ECW's timeslot, and as much as this Jim Wynorski effort is going to rock, it probably won't crack a 1 due to most Sci-Fi movie fans being accustomed to Saturday movie watching. Anyone who thinks ECW will have a difficult time hitting at least a 1.3 is nuts.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2006 --The final details of the ECW TV project will be hammered out tomorrow with a press release coming Tuesday morning to announce ECW on the Sci-Fi Network. It will be Tuesday but the time slot is not definite. It will either be live or on a few hour tape delay. These are just two of the many issues to be finalized tomorrow. Da Meltz Whoa the possibility of ECW being live? It has to be more than one hour if it ends up being live, as it wouldn't seem justifiable cost-wise to only do an hour.... claydude14 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2006 That'd be some bullshit if ECW gets to be live while Smackdown stays taped. Talk about making it the C show.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2006 Sci-Fi Friday will still be the network's baby with SG1, SGA, and BSG. ECW will fall into that spot with Ghost Hunters as the "happy to have you", which is still very good.

Doing more than one hour increases the risk of burning out the crowd before the stars come out for Smackdown. This is where taping on a third night would help, but that isn't happening for the time being.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2006 I still believe the best way to capture the "feel" of ECW is to use the old ECW video crew to film all of the house shows they have throughout the week, then at the end of each week they could put together the best matches and add in a couple of interviews to make a show. ECW fans won't care that the matches take place in different venues and new fans will think of it as an aspect that makes ECW different from everyone else. This should also help boost house show attendance as fans will feel that they could have the opportunity to see a major angle or match played out in front of them. Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 So wrestling is Science Fiction? I can see where it's fiction, but science??? That's an easy one. We're talking about ECW here. Having an ECW TV show in 2006 is like going back in a time machine or something. There is where the science part comes in.
