Yeah, I wasn't sure that the Cubs' offense could get any worse, but there you go.

I guess the lesson is to never doubt the organization.

You forget Tony Womach, second-baseman extraordinare, is on the cusp of being called up. It's about to get worse.

Man, at least Blanco was decent by backup catcher standards in 2005. This year, he's got TWO hits. I bet he still bats ahead of Matt Murton.

This is what the Cubs get for not firing Baker yesterday:

Pierre

Neifi

Walker

Barrett

Jacque

Ramirez

Bynum

Cedeno

Zambrano

I'd better go find something else to do today. Baker clearly doesn't want to end the losing.

Can Freddie Bynum play catcher?

I want Dusty to cry for him.

I just realized that the TBS feed is a few seconds behind the WGN feed. I wonder why TBS is on a delay.

It's been like that as long as I can remember. It's the same way with the games on MLB Extra Innings.

So, I guess I'll jinx it and point out that despite giving up a run, Zambrano hasn't given up a hit so far. It doesn't matter, though, since that first inning killed any chance he had of finishing out the game. He's thrown as many pitches in the last four innings as he did in the first.

Too bad the Cubs actually scored a couple runs this game.

I want to see a no-hitter lose. I think the last time was Andy Hawkins.

Dear Ryan Dempster:

Thank you.

Signed, The Atlanta Braves

P.S. Don't worry Reitsma will blow it in the bottom half of the inning

I fully understand if Bruiser bitches about the Cubs every day for the rest of the season. That was unbelievable. The TBS announcers were basically laughing at the absurdity of scoring 2 runs on a sac fly.

Two runs scoring on a sac fly. Only the Cubs.

Hey at least they keep it creative!

Wow Ray is coming out to close. Certainly worth a shot.

Let's play count the Atlanta runs!

1 - RBI single

1 - RBI groundout

2 - RBI Walk

2 - RBI Sac fly (one sac fly, 2 runs)

Thank you Cubs. Those fans at the stadium sounded so happy.

I bet Chip Caray was having a field day.

Was there a bad throw?

Or something hilarious?

I'm at a loss for words. Instead of venting with more profanities and just sounding even more crazy, I'll point to the highlights. Neifi Perez has no business on the field and Baker has no business in the game. The players make the plays, but the manager is responsible for such sloppy, pathetic fundamentals. But it's all because Derrek Lee isn't back yet.

Indeed and good for him. He can rest assured now the Cubs have found ways to lose games since he and Stoney stopped costing them games at the end of 2004.

Andruw Jones hit a deep fly to Jacque Jones to tie it up, which I guess would be okay, all things considered. He makes a decent throw to the supposed cut-off man Neifi, who bobbles the ball. Giles takes this as a cue to try and score and Neifi makes a throw home that would've sailed over Andre the Giant's head.

Maroth did have some problems earlier in the year with his elbow, they were able to work around it with an off day and rain out. Guess being shelled yesterday was the breaking point. Hope it isn't too serious.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around a team scoring two runs on a sacrifice fly. That must have been one hell of a bobble.

It's not that difficult, really. You've seen the Cubs' heads-up baseball before. I'm just trying to figure out how they're gonna put a spin on this one. I guess even Brenly ripped into Neifi for being so shoddy in his play.

At any rate, this ranks right up there with the LaTroy Hawkins loss to the Phillies last May.
