Guest Doombiscuit Report post Posted May 22, 2006 I realise this has been discussed before but I think this is pretty deserving of its own thread, if other's don't please don't be harsh, I'm a newbie =] I think the title pretty much says it all. After Mysterio's win last night who will RVD face for the gold at ONS? I have to admit I'm pretty baffled on this. JBL seemed like a good option off the back of there issue from last year's PPV. Putting Cena in that environment would be suicide for his cred as a face and surely Edge or HHH won't get a transitional reign just to put RVD over. Mysterio? Hell it'd be a proper ECW match as he's the only current championship contender/champion to work in ECW but would people buy that? Whatever way should be interesting buildup. With the recent Foley/Edge vs Funk/Dreamer build I have to say I'm intrigued for this PPV and the subsequent ECW relaunch. Not sure if any good will come of it though... slimm44 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Cena since they've already started the build-up with the face off two weeks ago, and the titles match last week
Scroby 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 RVD will face Cena at ONS II. The real question is how the finish is going to happen.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted May 22, 2006 It doesn't seem too confusing to me. Cena/RVD @ ONS2. Cena will go over, RVD will main event the new ECW promotion.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 RVD vs Mysterio with special guest appearence by Sabu. The finish will be a ref bump, RVD points to the sky, the lights go out, and Sabu runs-in to do the HeatWave 98 spot with the table on Rey Mysterio......and your NUUUUUUUUUUU World Champion R-V-D the Whole F'N Show. RVD take the belt to the Sci-Fi channel does the dump the belt in the trash spot and declares himself the ECW World Champion. Then seconds later Rhyno comes out of nowhere to hit the GORE! GORE! GORE! GORE!
mfn 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 That would be nice for Rhino to come out and do the Gore. I think that's a good prediction of what could happen, but I don't see Cena dropping his title, and I don't see Mysterio dropping his title because I don't think McMahon would want to make the E look weaker than ECW. So here is my theory. RVD gets screwed at the ECW ppv... At the ECW show he declares himself champion since he got screwed.. Rhino comes in the ring.. Gore. Instant fued. Guest Human Highlight Reel Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Hopefully? He beats Cena and gets a run as WWE champ. Realistically? He beats Cena, Vince says it was at an ECW event, so it doesn't count, RVD declares himself ECW champ. Probably? Cena wins, RVD gets pissed and leaves for ECW. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Dave Meltzer mentioned the possibility of a controversial finish, where both John Cena and Rob Van Dam have an argument that they won the match. This controversy would then serve as the reason for ECW to breakaway from WWE. I suppose John Cena would be awarded the decision and Rob Van Dam and the other ECW guys on the roster would be so fed up with it that they would split away from WWE. Sounds like it would work. It isn't like the ECW guys don't have to reason to hate Vince McMahon anyway. They could easily just say that the ECW guys are tired of being second-fiddle to a bunch of bodybuilders and that Vince McMahon has done everything to try and hold former ECW talent back. If they bring back guys like the Dudley Boyz, Justin Credible, and Spike Dudley, have those guys say that Vince McMahon robbed them of their identity. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 No. All 3 are under contract to TNA. Not sure of the length of those contracts, but as of right now they are stuck in Orlando.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 First off, there is no way in hell they can job RVD out at ONS. They might as well just forget reviving ECW if they do something like that. And might as well just release RVD cause his credibility will be gone. In a perfect world RVD would simply beat whoever it is he faces, then just breaks off and they reform ECW with the belt. Thing is, WHY would he necessarily do that? The idea was suggested on here that they should have a WWE ref originally, he gets bumped, an ECW ref counts 3 for RVD, then the next night Vince refutes that title change saying it wasn't a WWE sanctioned ref. Maybe give Cena a phantom pin while the original ref is down, something along those lines.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Can the WWE sign the Dudleys, Spike or Rhino? It's feasible that they can get Rhino, since Rhino only signed a 1-year deal with TNA that expires in June '06. However, the Dudleys and Spike Dudley are locked up long-term in TNA.
