naiwf Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Dallas is coughing this one up. After watching this series I just think it's a shame that Wade didn't get to play with Shaq when Shaq was Shaq.
alfdogg Posted June 14, 2006 Author Report Posted June 14, 2006 If Dallas is "coughing it up", then the referees must be perfroming the Heimlich.
naiwf Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 If Dallas is "coughing it up", then the referees must be perfroming the Heimlich. Well that's a given. The NBA refs are obviously instructed to try and tighten games up at the end as Miami's gotten every call under the sun down the stretch. It's bullshit, but there's no way anyone can deny that it happens all of the time now.
naiwf Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 German Jesus will hit the game tying or game winning three to atone for his sins.
Damaramu Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Listening to Stuart Scott after the game you'd think Miami had the trophy wrapped up.
naiwf Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 I still can't believe the play Avery diagrammed for the final possession. He could have easily gotten a clean look at a two or a three for Dirk. That's the second time this postseason they've gone for a lob to the rim and didn't even get a shot off.
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 I think it was a really good call actually, Howard had that dunk, Wade just made an excellent defensive play there.
Brett Favre Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 I agree. That was a good call. Wade just made a great play. The series looked about over; even with Wade's heroics, I have no idea how Miami came back. Dallas needs to take the next game to avoid a tough nail biting series.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 I think it was a really good call actually, Howard had that dunk, Wade just made an excellent defensive play there. It was a horrible call. Name me the last time a lob play at the buzzer actually worked.I might have seen it work once or twice

Name me the last time a lob play at the buzzer actually worked.I might have seen it work once or twice Word. That play gets broken up by a defender 40% of the time and gets thrown out of bounds the other 60% of the time. If there was 0.3 or so left I could see it, but with a full second you can catch, dribble and then shoot. It was a terrible call and the Mavs are 0 for 2 with it just in the last 9 games they've played.
iggymcfly Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Boy, I sure love to watch DICK BAVETTA referee. I don't tune in to see Dirk or Shaq or D-Wade, I just like to watch DICK BAVETTA blow that whistle. When he gives everybody technicals, that's just some entertaining basketball. I think for the next game, ABC's commercials should all focus on the real STAR of the series, DICK BAVETTA. God, that guy's a self-absorbed prick.
therealworldschampion Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 I've got to give the Heat fans credit for waving the Hasselhoff cutouts and chanting "David Hasselhoff" at Dirk when he's at the line. It's something you'd expect from college kids...
Art Sandusky Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Well, Miami's culture also basically consists of illegal drugs and sex, so maybe the comparison is accurate.
Damaramu Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 I won't be able to watch any post-game coverage on ESPN. I know they like Miami more than Dallas and after Game 3 ESPN made it sound like Miami had won the damn thing. They'll be declaring Dallas dead and buried now.
The Man in Blak Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Yeah, I think Game 4 would classify as a Dick Bavetta Game, by Bill Simmons' standards.
Guest Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Games like those are why I don't like to change my predictions. Miami will win in 6.
naiwf Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 So it seems like Dallas might end up getting run out of this series if they lose Game 5. Amazing how uncle Mo took away what should have been a trophy presentation ceremony tonight and somehow put Dallas on the ropes. There's no need to complain about a Dick Vendetta game. We all know what to expect the minute we see him step on the court. It's like getting angry that the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. There's nothing we can do to change it.

I know they like Miami more than Dallas and after Game 3 ESPN made it sound like Miami had won the damn thing. They'll be declaring Dallas dead and buried now. To give you a brief summary, Dwyane Wade beat the Mavs singlehandedly, the Heat are the greatest defensive team in the history of the world, and oh by the way, you notice how Dirk's stats go down as the teams get harder. *wink, nudge* Oh, and they made sure to show the Stackhouse foul 30 times, to ensure he gets suspended. But it was totally OK when Shaq stuck his foot underneath Dirk on that three in fourth quarter!

alfdogg Posted June 16, 2006 Author Report Posted June 16, 2006 It was an exaggerated version, obviously. They didn't talk about the Shaq/Dirk play, I just added that in myself.
Just John Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Funny how quickly people's opinions change with best of 7's in any sport. A week ago, Miami was an overrated bunch that had an easy path to the Finals and was dead in the water. Now people writing off Dallas? Come on. I'm sticking with Dallas in 6.
alfdogg Posted June 16, 2006 Author Report Posted June 16, 2006 Same here. My high school team could have beat Dallas the way they shot tonight. Miami may have played great defense by their standards, but a SEVEN-POINT fourth quarter didn't happen solely because of great defense. That was my point when I said that.
naiwf Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Funny how quickly people's opinions change with best of 7's in any sport. A week ago, Miami was an overrated bunch that had an easy path to the Finals and was dead in the water. Now people writing off Dallas? Come on. I'm sticking with Dallas in 6. That was before Dallas choked away (took it anally from the refs and lost) a 3-0 lead and Miami curbstomped them in the 2nd half of tonight's game. If Miami wins Game 5, it's not outside of the realm of possibility that they can steal one of the last 2 in Dallas especially now that there is no answer for Wade and Dirk is struggling.
Just John Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Dirk won't struggle forever. I bet he has a strong performance in Game 5 to lead the Mavs to a narrow road win, possibly in OT. Likewise, the rest of the Mavs won't struggle forever either. They have too many good shooters to have a repeat of Game 4.
Star Ocean 3 Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 it's not a series until one team wins on the road
Brett Favre Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Then this could be like that Miami/New Orleans series a few years ago. That series never began.
iggymcfly Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 This is MOTHERFUCKING RIDICULOUS. GODDAMN BULLSHIT. If Stu Jackson were here right now, I'd show him what a flagrant foul is by taking my fist and punching him in the testicles shoving it up his sandy goddamn vagina.
iggymcfly Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Since I triple posted, when I only meant to double post, I'll just say that I guarantee that this will cost Dallas Game 5. I don't care how much motivation it gives them, Stackhouse is too valuable for them to win a road game without him.
