Downhome Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 From PWInsider: WWE's Shopzone website has pulled the ECW One Night Stand T-shirt that revealed information about this Sunday's PPV that Buck Woodward wrote about yesterday. After WWE vs. ECW went off the air, the show ending brawl continued until John Cena got his hands on the The Sandman's Singapore Cane. Cena then began caning all the ECW stars until he cleared the ring. He then beat himself in the head with the cane, busting himself open. WWE played Cena's theme song to the end the night. Footage of the post-show brawl has been posted on the WWE website. After the special went off the aire, the WWE website ran a story announcing that Paul Heyman had made a play for WWE World champion Rey Mysterio to jump to ECW. As noted on the WWE vs. ECW special, Randy Orton is back on the Raw roster. Stars now "officially" in ECW after the WWE vs. ECW taping: Stevie Richards (back to that name), Little Guido (ditto), Big Show, and Justin Credible, who signed with WWE prior to the special as he was officially available today after his MTV Wrestling Society X deal expired, and debuted on the WWE vs. ECW special.
chaosrage Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 ECW won't really be back to me until some wrestler points to a woman in the crowd and says "We got a mom right here who taught her daughter how to suck dick!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAOraqJ_1DM Click to relive the moment. Take note of the little kids in the front row.
Just call me Dan Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I didn't see any crying either. Everything looked good except Tazz going for a takedown, committing to it and Lawler just putting him flat on his back. Just a well worked pull apart.
Downhome Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Like I said before, I approve of a long term RVD/Mysterio feud in ECW. http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/reyecw WWE.com has learned that Paul Heyman has made an offer to World Champion Rey Mysterio to jump to ECW. The offer was extended in the locker room area after the WWE vs. ECW Head to Head special. Sources close to the situation claim that Heyman is apparently trying to hedge his bets, meaning that if Mysterio accepts the offer, the World Championship would come to ECW regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s One Night Stand match between Sabu and Mysterio. Now that Big Show is an official ECW Wrestler, is Rey Mysterio far behind? They also have video of what happened during commercial breaks and after the show went off the air: http://www.wwe.com/shows/headtohead/2862578/
NoCalMike Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Well we already know how Heyman's interest in Rey Jr. turns out (if you read the Smackdown Spoilers) And I wish people would stfu about Taz getting pwned. Look, if Lawler threw a legit punch without Taz knowing then it reflects on him being a piece of shit that threw a sucker punch and exposed the business and a fellow worker, and if the MORE LIKELY scenario happened which is that Taz wanted to take a stiff shot and it was all just part of the show, then there are a few people in this thread that just got worked over hard,
NoCalMike Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 After all the activity going on in the last couple of weeks, I am not so sure that ECW is going to be the "C" show....it might just end up being the "B" show, that is until some people behind the scenes don't like that fact too much and pull the plug.
Downhome Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 There is no doubt in my mind that ECW is the new "B" Show, no doubt at all. About about anyone pulling the plug, well, look at it like this. Vince McMahon himself has his fingers in all aspects of ECW from top to bottom. He wants it to be a success, and that's plain to see from where I sit. I don't think we'd see them sticking Angle and TBS in ECW and I don't think we'd see a show like what we saw tonight, if he didn't want to really seriously push it hard. I mean, they worked to get an actual TV show for it at 10pm, on SciFi, LIVE for God's sake. Sure, Steph might want to kill it, but if there's one person who can stand in Steph's way, it's her daddy. Also, if they actually let the guys push the limits just a bit more and give people more freedom, like what we saw tonight (at least that's how it looked to me), then what will that do to RAW and SD? Let's say ECW starts getting over. It might make other talent want to jump to ECW, and as a result of that we might actually see some changes on RAW and SD. As of right now, I feel really good about this entire thing. We shall see pretty soon though. Sure it's possible that they fuck all of this up, and almost likely, but you can't sit there and say that they don't want it to really work out.
Guest El Satanico Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Seems no one in a position of powers cares about Smackdown enough to complain about it becoming the "C" show.
strummer Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 keller says that Tazz and Lawler knew they had to work stiff with each other. I know it was a work but it still killed Tazz's gimmick and made him look like a giant pussy. That punch by Lawler sent echoes through the building. Tazz getting quiet right afterwards didn't help. The fact is a 55 yr. old threw a better legit punch than a supposed real life bad ass and that it going to make Tazz look like a pussy. Even he kills Lawler on Sunday his gimmick is dead.

How did it make him look like a pussy? Could you please explain it to me? From what I saw, Tazz hit Lawler and fell down, Lawler hits Tazz and Tazz takes it, stands there, and attacks Lawler. How in the hell do you get Tazz is a pussy after taking his punch and then attacking Lawler?
Golgo 13 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 His gimmick was dead when he began feuding with announcers years ago and then became one himself.
UZI Suicide Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Give me a break. The entire arena was chanting Taz's name, and the entire Hammerstein Ballroom will be cheering for Taz. The only people who think the gimmick is "dead" are 4 or 5 douches on this board. I love it when smarks think they speak for the general wrestling population. As far as Smackdown being the C show, it definitely is now. As good as the wrestling may be with a main event scene of Booker T, Finlay, William Regal, Rey Mysterio and Batista, the reality is that nobody is going to pay to see that. Smackdown has been getting worse and worse (ratings and attendance wise) for years now, and with all these star defections, I can easily see ECW replacing Smackdown if it takes off like Vince is hoping it does.

How in the hell do you get Tazz is a pussy after taking his punch and then attacking Lawler? Because Jerry Lawler, a 55 yr. old man, threw one of the best punches in WWE history. You could hear the sound on TV. Lawler came out of that segment looking tougher while Tazz looked much weaker because his punches didn't seem as lethal and he struggled against a practical senior citizen.
claydude14 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I don't get this Tazz gimmick is dead etc. stuff at all either. If I didn't notice Lawler having a distinct advantage, most marks won't either and they won't talk about it on TV.
Guest netslob Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 is Lawler 55 years old? did the punch echo thru the arena? oh, he is? and it did? ok, glad we got that cleared up.

Bullshit, what the hell were you watching? Let me tell you what happen because you weren't watching the same thing we were all watching. King gets up, Tazz gets up, Tazz hits Lawler and Lawler falls down, Lawler gets up and hits Tazz, Tazz stands his ground and the two start brawling. Then we see Joey flip JR's hat off his head then we go into commerical. How in the hell do you get Tazz coming off as a pussy off that? I mean its not like Tazz backed down from Lawler or anything. So you need to explain yourself a bit better than "Tazz got hit from a 55 year old man, so he's a pussy!", cause that doesn't make sense.
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Some people are just fucking moron smarks. Tazz was clearly not crying.
Rob Anybody Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 is Lawler 55 years old? did the punch echo thru the arena? oh, he is? and it did? ok, glad we got that cleared up. Which one fell down?
Downhome Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I don't think this hurt Taz(z) at all, and it was obviously just a part of the show. I loved the entire segment, we almost never get stuff like this anymore: And since I'm sure someone will ask for it: They have a history together, so this shouldn't be a shock to anyone:
UZI Suicide Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I think the best part of the night was Joey Styles ripping on Finlay's leprechaun and Jerry Lawler having absolutely no idea what he was talking about. "King, I'm begging you...watch the product."
strummer Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Just one question, can anyone watch that segment and honestly say that Tazz looked stronger coming out of it? Tazz talked tough last week and on tonight's show and then when confronted he couldn't get the job done. He is supposedly still this tough guy and he think Jerry lawler is a joke. Yet when they fight, he can't get the job done

strummer Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Tazz's punch sucked. . Lawler's was perfect. Tazz's knees started to quiver and he had to hold on to the announce table to keep himself up.
chaosrage Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I uploaded another ECW video from that same PPV. Doring & Roadkill vs Nova & Chetti. Lita's PPV debut! You have to love that Joey Styles's first comment about her is "She's a ho!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdBpZSuZzM8 Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE9TQcBIW6Y Part 2

He's going to destroy Lawler, but the whole idea of the segment was to make people want to pay 40 bucks to see him do it.

Ravenbomb Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I don't get this Tazz gimmick is dead etc. stuff at all either.
strummer Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 He's going to destroy Lawler, but the whole idea of the segment was to make people want to pay 40 bucks to see him do it. But Tazz came across as a loser in that segment and who wants to get behind a loser.

The reaction in the arena tells me that nobody thinks Taz came out weaker.
UZI Suicide Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Some dark matches results and other notes: - Shelton Benjamin beat Carlito. Benjamin bragged before the match that he could beat Carlito in 15 minutes. With 30 seconds left, Benjamin put his feet on the ropes to get the pin. - Matt Hardy defeated a local guy named John Bolden in a dark match. - Dusty Rhodes cut a promo promoting his new DVD. - Jimmy Yang defeated Tatanka. Yang was dressed as a cowboy in leather chaps and a Confederate flag on his vest. - WWE didn't come close to selling out the 8,000 seat building for the WWE vs. ECW special last night.
