Although my opinion on this is fairly well known, must we discuss her looks? It really has nothing to do with her complete lack of class, responsibility, and intellectual honesty.

He had it coming. He sounded like CheesalaIsGood. I think he talked some shit about O'Reilly first, which got him rattled. O'Reilly is a hack, but you kinda expect him to get offended when someone calls him a war-mongering jerk with no credibility. He's not some NPR liberal who is gonna go "well it's very interesting that you feel that way" in a smooth dickish voice.

 

 

What position is Bill O'Reilly in to say what Jeremy Glick's mother or deceased father would have of thought of Jeremy's views? I'm not a supporter of this guy's conclusions, but it is intellectually dishonest to assume noy only that you know what his family thinks, but to use it as a weapon in a discussion that could've been easily discussed in a calm, factual manner instead of the escalating name-calling that O'Reilly relies on to entertain his viewers.

Ann Coulter has every right to express her whackjob opinions, but the problem with the corporate media like Fox/CNN/ABC etc....is that they legitimize her beliefs, while at the same time labeling anyone as extreme as her, except on the left, a "nut" Everytime Coulter has a new insane book to promote, here come all the networks to whore her out.

 

Also, Michelle Malkin is well on her way to ousting Coulter one of these days.

 

Now, I know since I dare be a conservative I'm going to be labeled a "Jesus freak", "war monger" or something similar by the more liberal members of the board, but I saw this and figured someone should respond.

 

You REALLY think that the "mainstream media" is legitimizing Coulter while marginalizing the left? Really? How come NBC anchor Brian Williams said "just when you think that it seems that there are no limits on anything, someone comes along and makes a comment that goes over the line – the line that is shared by just about everybody because some things are, it turns out, still sacred.” regarding Coulter's attack on the so-called "Jersey Girls"? Yeah, that really sounds like he's legitimizing her. Also on NBC, David Taibbi claimed that Coulter was attacking ALL the 9/11 windows, not just those 4, while David Gergen decried the "ugliness" of Coulter's charge.

 

The reason why conservatives are allowed on air is because they'll inspire debate. Look at what happens when someone like Coulter or Malkin gets onto one of the alphabet networks. What happens? The host usually nearly goes ballistic and/or bursts a blood vessel. That's good TV. It brings in viewers. If you put a liberal pundit on, all you'll get is people like Maher, Olberman, Rather, and Jennings fawning over them and celebrating their genius (see Michael Moore, Al Franken, Al, Gore, Ward Churchill, Cindy Sheehan).

 

If anything, the alphabet networks are liberal. CNN was founded by a guy who thinks that all organized religions are for "Jesus freaks". Mary Mapes was in charge at CBS until she got caught letting her hatred of GWB overrule her need to fact check. On MSNBC, Keith Olberman does everything but froth at the mouth and start shaking whenever you mention the name "O'Reilly". Mike Wallace has already said that he would allow American troops to be killed if it meant he got a story (you can read about that one here).

 

Really, though, it all comes down to ratings. They know that a conservative talking head 'debating' with a liberal talking head will bring in viewers who want to see the train wreck. Really though, most of the TV personalities regardless of political orientation are scumbags I wouldn't trust if they said the sun was hot.
