Lord of The Curry Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 If you click that link are you letting the terrorists win? Or is it the other way around?
bob_barron Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Movie looks eh, I don't think anything can top United 93
SuperJerk Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Movie looks eh, I don't think anything can top United 93 How was United 93, Bob? I never heard anything about it once it came out.
Special K Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Too fucking soon. At least with united they got all the families' permission.
bob_barron Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Movie looks eh, I don't think anything can top United 93 How was United 93, Bob? I never heard anything about it once it came out. It was intense and at times very hard to watch, but it was an incredibly well made motion picture that didn't feel exploitive at all.
Mole Posted June 15, 2006 Author Report Posted June 15, 2006 Well, it is by the overrated Oliver Stone, so this could be horrible.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Nic Cage's moustache is the real star of this movie.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 This movie looks awful, by the way. The real tragedy of 9/11 is that it allowed Oliver Stone to do this.
Failed Bridge Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Too fucking soon. At least with united they got all the families' permission. I'm pretty sure they did get permission from the families portrayed. I remember reading something about it on yahoo awhile back.
KingPK Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 "If you look at frames 132 through 143, you can see that when the plane strikes, the building sways back and to the left." "Back and to the left." "Back...and to the left."
SuperJerk Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Too fucking soon. How did I know someone was going to say this? Its been almost half a decade since 9/11. Coppolla only waited 4 years after the end of the Vietnam War to make Apocalypse Now. Casablanca was made while WW2 was still going on. Dr. Strangelove was only 2 years after the Cuban Missile Crisis (which it was loosely based on).
Red Baron Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 So is this going to have Air Defence Missiles, and the towers not blown up and the people in the streets chanting USA instead of what really happened, because, you know, Hollywood likes to fabricate the truth.
2GOLD Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 So is this going to have Air Defence Missiles, and the towers not blown up and the people in the streets chanting USA instead of what really happened, because, you know, Hollywood likes to fabricate the truth. It's Oliver Stone, we'll probably have a scene where Cheney is sitting at a desk with a big cigar laughing and saying, "Everything is going according to plan". And a bunch of Generals standing in the background as shadows with visible name plates.
Kahran Ramsus Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 When was the last time Oliver Stone made a good movie?
Mole Posted June 15, 2006 Author Report Posted June 15, 2006 When was the last time Oliver Stone made a good movie? One, Platoon.
Anakin Flair Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 If it's done as a straight-forward tribute, it could be good. If it's done as a political commentary as told by Oliver Stone, it will be awful.
Epic Reine Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 When was the last time Oliver Stone made a good movie? U-Turn.
Gary Floyd Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 That really looks bad. Fortunately, he does think 9/11 conspiracy theoriws are bullshit. Still, it looks like it's really going to suck.
