snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Anybody here make it to any of the current amphitheatre tour stops? I was at the Milwaukee show a few days ago...very fun. I think the tour ends this weekend...Reznor claims that a new cd will follow (he will also be making a record with Saul Williams) and then back on the road. I prefer busy-NIN to hibernating-NIN. UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 I hope it's true about a new album coming out soon after the tour ends, but I highly doubt it will happen.

Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Yeah, he's probably just producing it anyway. I saw them this time last summer on the with Teeth tour too. Thought it was fantastic.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Yep...Trent will be producing the Saul record...its not like it will be some kind of NIN/Saul mashup. The music Reznor makes isnt that much different than the beats that Saul Williams usualy uses.
Special K 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Saw them half a year ago, really good LONG show. Had Queens opening for them. Queens were fun, but it's the worst of the fucking four times I've seen them. Josh was D R U N K. He kept talking about fucking the other guys in the bands' ass. But NIN played for a good two hours. It was very good. I was happily surprisd to see Trent Reznor actually being a performer, and playing Guitar and keyboard. I always figured he was pretty much a singer/producer, but he kicks ass on guitar. Someone in the crowd yelled "you suck" or something like that and the singer acted foolish. He couldn't think of anything interesting to say to the guy except for something like "stay away from him he has AIDS". NIN was good. I was pleased that they played Dead Souls. Annabelle 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2006 snuffbox sometimes demonstrates an ability to be a discriminating music listener, but sometimes, all of the critical praise gets to him. saul williams & trent rezner together in any form would be death. they' suffocate each other with their self involvement. King Kamala 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2006 I almost went out and bought Nine Inch Nails tickets the day of the show in February. It was supposed to be Nine Inch Nails with Saul Williams as the opener and I thought even though I'm not a huge fan of either of them, that bill is so unique I might have to shell over the $28 to see it. Unfortunately, they cancelled the show the day of due to someone being sick. They rescheduled it to last week but no Saul Williams.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2006 I dont read cd reviews. Ive seen Saul Williams and NIN live and if they were to try collaborating in that respect it probably would be a trainwreck...but, again, the beats that Saul raps over on his own records are usually kinda grungy/rock-y and similar to the music that Reznor can write well. As far as I know that is all that record will be...Reznor making music and producing with Saul Williams rapping as per usual. It seems like a very fitting combination. I also think Saul might work well with RZA. If Reznor does intend to put himself at the forefront of the Saul cd by doing some vocals or making overbearing music...then, yes, it will obviously work out poorly. But if it remains as reported and Reznor just keeps to the background then I see no problem with it.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2006 Trent Reznor looks to be a candidate for Smackdown's 'hepatitis c' epidemic.
