luke-o Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Souns ok, i'm going to miss this one on Saturday, so Im hoping that im not going to miss anything good. Will be good to see Homicide back in the ring again.
TNABaddboi Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 I'm assuming they're hoping to pop a big rating with that main event. Before last week, I sorta figure that was going to ME the PPV, since they haven't done the tag match ME they normally do every other month since January.
Guest TheGameah Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Thought I read somewhere that Nash and Shelley will be appearing tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing where that angle goes.
ChrisMWaters Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 I find it funny that Johnny Devine simply jumped away from Team Canada with no explaination whatsoever.
razazteca Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Thought I read somewhere that Nash and Shelley will be appearing tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing where that angle goes. "Tonight we pull something out the fans have not seen....in 2 weeks" I find it funny that Johnny Devine simply jumped away from Team Canada with no explaination whatsoever. So A1 can get more tv time or that he prefers the color orange more than red?
Exslade ZX Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Holy shit, Joe looked high as a motherfucker. He was chink-eyed. And there's just something about his voice...he sounds like someone that'd be super-intelligent.
randomguy Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Isn't this Steiner/Jarrett angle the exact same angle WWE ran with Batista/HHH? Big dumb animal slowly awakens to title opportunity? Edit: The main event was pretty decent, although Steiner didn't really pull his weight.
ChrisMWaters Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 What does Nash's comment about 2 weeks mean? Khali brought out the Bodybag on Smackdown 2 weeks ago.
Astro101 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Oh yea. I forget a lot of Smackdown stuff. Poor Gunner.
trackc53 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 I liked that Rhino footage. All those F bombs were great and made me remember what a crazy psycho he can be. Someone in TNA needs to take one for the team and get piledriven off an apron through a table.
Placebo Effect Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 I'm digging the return of crazy, cursing Rhyno.
Timmy8271 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Wow, i feel the total opposite about the Rhino promo. I hated it. I wish they would get off the anti wwe crusade. Although the Nash promo was funny. The Homicide/Sonjay dutt match was scared by the ending. Homicide should have won clean and left a mark. Now all he looks like is a jobber that needs help. Tna killed Monty brown for me. Can't take the guy seriously.
Astro101 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 If it's from Rhino, I say go for it. If they're going to bash ECW, now's the perfect time when the audience is looking at ECW and saying, that's not what we wanted. A lot of people hate it, and Rhino/Team 3D is just expressing those opinions. Obviously, they shouldn't overdo it, but the Rhino program just made me look at him as a guy not to be messed with and someone who was smart enough to stay in TNA.
Guest TheGameah Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Tna killed Monty brown for me. Can't take the guy seriously. Was I the only one that wished every TNA main-eventer that Brown called out would have run down to the ring and beat him down for the rest of the show?
TheBostonStrangler Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Tna killed Monty brown for me. Can't take the guy seriously. TNA also MADE Monty Brown. He is what he is. Personally, I like the guy
2GOLD Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Tna killed Monty brown for me. Can't take the guy seriously. TNA also MADE Monty Brown. He is what he is. Personally, I like the guy Monty was more fun with his crazy promos. Heel focused Monty just isn't as fun as "batshit nuts" fighter Monty.

I read the spoilers, but I thought that stuff about the ECW title was shown before the tapings started.

randomguy Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 The problem with Rhino's promo is that anytime you focus on the competition, or even acknowledge them, it makes you look smaller and less important.
CubbyBr Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 The problem with Rhino's promo is that anytime you focus on the competition, or even acknowledge them, it makes you look smaller and less important. Not when the competition was the one that offered him a contract but he turned it down.
razazteca Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Tna killed Monty brown for me. Can't take the guy seriously. TNA also MADE Monty Brown. He is what he is. Personally, I like the guy Monty should not have promos in the ring and the whole deal about the serengitti has to stop. Monty didn't show any emotion in his promo other than making mild threats and some yelling. Joe did the same promo but started out as a stoner all calm and collected then went intense when he called out the main eventers. The "ohh ohh ahh ahhh I rule the serengitti and all who walk in this ring will be taken down like a wilderbeast" would or worked if he focused on RHINO but he didn't and tried to label the main eventers as safari animals which was poorly delivered. Monty needs to do his promos pre-taped so the production crew can find a way to make look like a threat instead of the crazy strong man from Pee Wee's Big Top.

Not when the competition was the one that offered him a contract but he turned it down. Yea. If Rhino was just bashing a company that just fired him, ok that may make him seem small. But he was the one that turned down Vince. Oh hey, and uncut version of his promo here: http://www.tnawrestling.com/fullnews.php?home=742
randomguy Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 Makes no difference. They are tacitly acknowledging that WWE is the big dog. He got offered a job by another company...big deal. That's news why? Only because WWE is #1.
Timmy8271 Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 After watching to promo again, it was actually pretty good. The difference between team 3d and Rhino is when Rhino does it, he comes off as geniune and did it for a purpose. Team 3d has been stale for years and come off as bitter. Monty should turn into Umaga: A guy that kicks ass and doesn't talk. TNA killed him by making him the number one contender then they jobbed him to Christian cage the next week.

That's news why? Only because WWE is #1. Everyone knows that WWE is number 1..but the fact that Rhino turned down a contract from number 1 goes a long way in changing that, which helps TNA.

Yup, and I think that was the point. And I really liked Monty Brown before the match with Christian. I liked him because he was given to us in short spurts in the promo department and it was fine. Now everytime he talks, it seems like he's trying to remember his lines.
