Muggy, is that a Master Tonberry in your avatar? Do you slowly waddle towards people and then kill them?

D'oh.

In Final Fantasy XI, Tonberries are classified as Beastmen that live solely in the Yhoator Jungle on the eastern half of Elshimo. During the Great War, the majority of the Tonberries remained in their stronghold, the Temple of Uggalepih. However, a few elite members of the tribe were sent to the Shadow Lord to act as his secret agents. These Tonberries would often sneak into the castles of the allied forces and assassinate important generals or political figures. Feared around Vana'diel, these beastmen were often referred to as the "invisible killers." According to the Tonberries' religion, their creator, the Goddess Uggalepih, had beauty that was envied by the Goddess Altana. A furious Altana transformed Uggalepih into a hideous beast and exiled her to the Outlands. Revenge for Altana's actions is said to be one of the origins of their rancor.

This game also reveals why Tonberries are never found without their lanterns or knives in a Tonberry 'war-chant':

"O brothersss of rancor, take up thy lanternsss, The truth we shall illuminate. O sistersss of rancor, take up thy knives, To cleave our foesss with barren hate. Through this we ssseek our just reward; Our goddess's glory be ressstored."

I don't think I've ever tried to kill a Tonberry....I usually just ran from them.

how bout those Cactus guys that were always in a running pose? they weren't TOO hard to kill, but could be a pain in the ass at times...I think they would run away a lot, as well, I can't remember. The good thing about them was that they offered a shitload of experience points.

Tonberrys are a fucking pain in the ass on FF X. Everytime you attack them, they attack you for double the damage. And they kill your summons after one attack.

I forgot the secret to beating Cactrots, but once you get it, you can really rack up experience on FF6.

Apparently posting a Tonberry walking up to someone is our new way of saying "you deserve to be killed."

When I first did it, I didn't intend for it to turn out that way. But I do like the way it turned out.

I'm on that giant asteroid thing at the end, its just I walked away from it about a year ago and have never gone back. I think it was because I was procrastinating from studying for my exams. I played it for 10 hours straight one day. I did the same with FF5: I got to Ex-Death's castle, and never came back to it. Infact, I don't think I finished FF10, I got to fighting Sin though...and my brother erased my FF9 save...

If I had the spare time i'd probably go back and do these things. Infact, I might start 9 again tonight.
