the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Hank Baskett will still be no. 2. I can't see Reid throwing Stallworth in there as a starter without a couple games in the system. Because he would fuck pretty much everyone up. He schooled Hugh Douglas last year when that whole thing went down. He is a bit of a prima donna, but he is also a fucking nutjob that has the ability to snap I think. Since when does an old fat guy represent 'pretty much everyone' in the NFL? I never said he represents everyone in the NFL. That is just my opinion with the Douglas example following. TO is a jacked 240 pound man with psycholgical problems. Reportedly he was ready to go after McNabb and had to be calmed down. Am I crazy or is that a pretty scary idea? He is bigger than most LBs in today's game and not much smaller than the new breed DEs. At this point we can just agree to disagree since it is a hypothetical that will never.....most likely never be realized and we'll just go in circles. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 29, 2006 A couple things I've learned thus far watching the Packers tonight: Our defense is great provided that our corners learn how to tackle and aren't going up against someone that can throw the ball (like Michael Vick, for example). They're doing well against the run. Houshmandzadeh is ripping up the Pack secondary, though. And we need to trade for Deion Branch NOW. Dump Fergie and swap 1st rounders if need be. Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 No way would Robert Ferguson and a pick swap be enough. We're asking for at least a solo #1, probably another player or pick as well.

the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 I think NE would jump all over that. Not to sound like this is rubbing it in or anything, but that has a very good chance of swapping from a mid-late 20s pick to a top 5 pick. They could build in some safeguards just in case (extra 3rd or 4th if not in the top 10 for example). If Deion Branch can get you in the top 5 you have to do that. The question really is though, if Deion Branch is really worth THAT much. He's pretty good, but he's not an elite receiver. And if Green Bay ends up in the top 10 drafting again this year, they could really use a good skill position player up there. Although, if it still seems their problems lie on the offensive line, then Green Bay would benefit by picking lower since they wouldn't need a high pick. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Not together with his contract demand I don't think he is. I like him, but he hasn't had 1000 yard season. Plus, as lame a reason as it may be if the Patriots are willing to let him walk, that raises a red flag. They seem to know what they are doing. I'd give a 2nd, maybe a first if you are likely drafting 25 or later. Otherwise it's just too much. That's why I think NE would jump on it.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Oh, makes sense. Would've been nice to just quit the game. What an awful showing by the Packers. Favre didn't have too bad of a night, but Palmer was on fucking fire. It was a totally different game with him out of the lineup. At least one positive came out of it all, in that Chad Johnson didn't have a catch.

Guest Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Yeah, even more than Michael Vick (here comes the Vick conversation). What the fuck does Woodson do, anyway?
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 29, 2006 He used to be a hell of a corner in a Deion Sanders-type mold (i.e. a lot of speed and finesse but can't tackle or bump and run for shit, which is the complete opposite of Al Harris) but it's going to take some time for him to get back to his Pro Bowl form, if he ever does. But Vick is by far the most overrated player in the league, although it's starting to become evident that he's just not good enough of a quarterback to lead the Falcons to a Super Bowl. Primary reason behind this is you can see people actually calling for Matt Schaub to start. Vick has a lot of arm strength, but no vision as a QB, and no accuracy. I wonder how good he'd be catching or running with the football as a running back, though.

I wonder how good he'd be catching or running with the football as a running back, though. Woodson got his contract based on reputation and not what he's actually done. When he was at the top of his game, nobody threw at him. I think people figured him out and he hasn't been the same since. It's weird that he has high tackling numbers for a corner, but that's what happens when the rest of the defense sucks and the backs are always getting in the secondary. It's too late for Vick to play running back, but if he would have been one when he went into the league, he'd be doing to the NFL what Reggie Bush did in college. Vick in college was maybe the fastest runner I've ever seen.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 29, 2006 You kiddin' me? Vick's still one of the fastest runners I've ever seen. But yeah, I doubt his ego will even allow it. He HAS to be the Falcons' starting QB.
