HBO is bringing back Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry David's Emmy-winning comedy series is finally on the books with the premium cable channel for a sixth season, which will begin production as early as September 2006. All principal cast members including Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, and Susie Essman are expected to return for an airdate sometime in 2007. HBO confirmed Curb Your Enthusiasm is returning, but did not indicate that the coming season is necessarily the last one. Curb Your Enthusiasm last premiered in September 2005, and David has publicly waffled on whether he was interested in bringing the series back. Chris Albrecht, chairman and CEO of HBO, told reporters in July at the Television Critics Assn. press tour that he was close to re-signing David (HR, 7/13). "Larry was very unsure after last season," Albrecht had said. "He needed to be inspired." First introduced in 2000, Curb Your Enthusiasm is produced by HBO Entertainment. The series earned five nominations at the upcoming Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy Series.

The show is still funny, but I am starting to think it has run it's course. It's not that the ideas aren't good, but after five seasons, you just see most every twist and turn coming from a mile away.

I'm still watching season 4 right now ( the only ones released in Europe so far) and you can already tell that the quality is slipping a little. Still fun, but nowhere near the level of seasons two & three.

Seasons one and two (and most of season three) is some of the best television I've ever seen. Season 4 and 5 were just painful for me to watch and I'm probably done with the show regardless of a sixth season.

I've heard a lot of bad things about season 5, but s4 was plenty enjoyable. Not as good as 3, certainly, but better than 95% of the other shit on TV.
