Remember that the five games in three days format forces both teams to use sub-optimal pitchers, so this isn't necessarily indicative of the season as a whole. If The Big Eunuch can eat up 7 innings, the Yankees bullpen won't be taxed today and they'll be fine during Mussina's start. Of course, they're in Boston...& if the Sox get murdered tonight, I can see it. Of course, Mussina is no Clemens...so a Yankee will have to get beaned. Mike Lowell looked disgusted just going around the horn after a play. Beckett looked like he wanted to murder Javy Lopez. In some of the dugout shots I saw the guys looked like they all hated each other. Maybe it was just the depressing losses, but I don't see a whole lot of that "Cowboy Up/Bunch of Idiots" camaraderie I'd love to see a fight but I just can't see it happening. This Red Sox bunch lacks passion. Unless Francona gives a Lombardi-esque pre-game speech and Schilling takes it upon himself to personally murder one Yankee. It was just an absolute slaughtering, and from sitting in the bleachers for all three games, Sox fans were just in like an awe of how bad the pitching was. Beckett got shit on ALOT by Sox fans, they were really pissed off at his performance. They all really shit on Crisp a lot, as they saw Damon go 9-18 in the series and just weren't happy at all. One thing I noticed is that Sox fans defintley aren't as rowdy as they used to be. I went to a game in April in 04 at Fenway and I just got screamed at a ton by Sox fans for beig a yankee fan. For the most part, Sox fans were really calm and just not angry, haha, this time around. I think there's a two-fold reason for that 1) A ton of fairweather/bandwaggon fans since they won the world series. I know a lot of these people. They all "love" the Sox and "love" Big Papi, but they barely even like baseball, much less have any sort of devotion to their club. 2) Sox fans have a split personality now.
