Let there be rage in Boston tonight.

Hopefully, Mussina finally gets his 14th win, as he could've on two previous outings.

I think there's a two-fold reason for that

1) A ton of fairweather/bandwaggon fans since they won the world series. I know a lot of these people. They all "love" the Sox and "love" Big Papi, but they barely even like baseball, much less have any sort of devotion to their club.

Ah yes, the ol' "Pink Hats", so named because you see most of them (mostly women) wearing the pink kind of Red Sox hat. I went to a game in July and I was surrounded by them.

I'll give up a sweep if I can swap it for a GOOD brawl tonight.

Are you an Idiot? You rather see the Yankees lose so you can see a fight. Last time I checked there is still alot of baseball left to be played.

Exactly. So in August, I'd rather see them fight, and take 4 games from the Sox instead of 5.

One day after recalling him, the Red Sox option Jermaine Van Buren back to Triple-A, and instead recall pitcher Javier Lopez.

Which means for the first time this season, the Sox have two players on the roster named Javy Lopez.

ALL RED SOX WILL DIE

24-7

DEATH TO SCHILLING!

Do they call one Javy Lopez a and the other one Javy Lopez b?

Damn Roy...you might be more hyped than me.

As I said somewhere earlier...

The Hall was a blast. I got to see some killer stuff there, like the '96 World Series trophy, which is still there, Maris' 61st home run ball, Gehrig and DiMaggio's lockers, current stuff like Rivera's hat from his 400th save, Boggs' bat from his 3,000th hit, WBC stuff and everything else. The "locker room" which contains memorabilia of all 30 teams is really cool. Schilling's sock and Meintkeiwicz's ball reside in the post-season room for those wondering.

The hall itself, has been changed a bit since I've been there last. The first 5 electees have been moved to the back, in a half circle area past all the other plaques, and every new member since I believe '99 is in that section, due to all the new, and future, elections.

Nice.

I've only been to the Hall once...and I'm due for a repeat visit in the next season or two.

Heh...no A-Rod on third. Moose wasn't havin' that shit.

Espn just predicted at least a 45 minute rain delay. I wonder if Curt is going to come out with his bloody sock at 10 p.m.

Meintkeiwicz's ball

Which one?

Seriously though, I thought he refused to give them the ball. Did they pay him off?

It's raining pretty hard. If the game gets called do they do a double header tommorow, or postpone it til' Sept?

If the game gets rained out, I can picture MLB having the Red Sox and Yankees play this game in October but only if there are playoff implications. They would play the game right after the season ends but before the playoffs begin.

I think that was how they settled it - neither the team nor Mientkiewicz got the ball; the ball was instead donated to the Hall of Fame.

Which is where it should be.

The Meintkiewicz ball has the usual little write-up tag next to it, and a neat little paragraph, and under that, is the caption

On loan from Doug Meintkiewicz

On a personal note on the matter of Meintkiewicz vs. Boston, I think it's really petty, childish and stupid of both of them. When it all comes down to it, honestly, it's a fucking ball. They got their first World Series trophy in 86 years, and they wage this rediculous war for the last-out ball. I'd say that not only does Doug (I'm not even gonna try and spell it again) have legit claim to it, but, isn't it property of Major League Baseball? Or at the very least, the St. Louis Cardinals?

You know who has the last out ball of '96? Charlie Hayes, who also publicly stated that he was going to keep it. And nobody complained, because, well, it would be stupid to.
