Lt. Al Giardello Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Santiago fucked up, he had his eyes close, like he frooze or somthing. Leben didn't look impressive at all and still seems like the same fighter to me.
naiwf Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Nice KO, but someone told Goldberg to take Leben's dick out of his mouth. I'm having a hard time hearing the commentary.
AmericanDragon Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 NO MORE SKIM edit: That fight pissed me off so I'm going to post his fight vs Silva. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mCuHTUyzHc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzgjOR5f_Sc
razazteca Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Somebody should tell Leben to stop posing for the camera.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Careful Starbucks employees, Leben's coming for you!!
naiwf Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 A KO with two guys who had their eyes closed. Way to show the skill level in MMA boys.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Cameras at the weigh ins? OK who's getting into a brawl to build up the card?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 The only Texans highlights in the Madden promo are someone whiffing a tackle and Phillip Buchanon getting his ass run over. They could've at least had a shot of Mario or something.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Hey Von Flue, probably not the best time to flip off a guy.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Damn I can't believe how quickly Diego got past Karo's guard. Made it look like nothing.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Fun first round. Karo came back strong after that first takedown.
razazteca Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Looks like Raz got his wish. Joe Riggs fights are always entertaining!
razazteca Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Karo vs Diego deserves to have a rematch on a PPV.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Holy fuck what a fucking fight. Fight of the Year contender right here!
Hawkius Maximus Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Diego has the best fights in the UFC.
razazteca Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Shonie Carter just quoted LL Cool J! I'm a fan of his now!
Damaramu Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Damn I was loving Karo's throws. Everytime Havier wins a fight an angel loses it's wings and the baby jesus cries. Oh well I still don't think he can hang with GSP or Hughes.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Really happy to see Diego win, and the guy does have exciting fights. However I think after seeing him struggle taking down Alessio GSP would murder him, as would BJ Penn. Sprawl and Brawl galore. Matt Hughes would be more of a fight since Diego is good enough off of his back to give him a good battle. Still, Matt Hughes should pound him out as well. Regardless, the guy's grappling is amazing and his scrambling is almost unparallel in MMA.
Lord of The Curry Posted August 18, 2006 Author Report Posted August 18, 2006 That match told such an awesome story. Karo wouldn't quit but Diego would solve him at every turn and continue to lay damage. It sucks Karo lost but if you believe in moral victories in MMA he sure as hell got one.

Lt. Al Giardello Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 30-26 was the worst scorecard I've seen from a UFC judge. When I heard that I was pissed. It's ashame Karo gassed in the last around. You could argue a 10-8 round for Diego in the last round, but I personally thought it was 10-9. Still really close fight. Karo's judo throws had me marking out.

The two 29-28's were just as bad though, since Diego clearly won that last round by 10-8. I was expecting 28-28 x3 myself.
Lord of The Curry Posted August 18, 2006 Author Report Posted August 18, 2006 Dana needs to get Lorenzo to call on some favours he has amongst established businessmen in Vegas and get some new NSAC judges.

No way they'd have a draw. And how can you give Karo round one? He was cut up and had his back taken. No way he did enough for the first round. 29-28 was the right call. 30-26 should be shot though, you're all right about that.

Karo took down Diego more then once with his judo throws, and usually by UFC standards takedowns count as points. I gave the 1st 2 rounds to Karo. Either way, I think there should be a rematch in 07.

I personally wouldn't have given Karo the first round. I thought the judges would though since he got a nice takedown in that round and aside from that nasty uppercut Diego caught him with, I wasn't sure how they'd score that one. Karo definitely won the 2nd, and Diego murdered him in the 3rd. I forgot I wasn't watching boxing for a minute where they surely would have gone 28-28 and held the rematch on PPV as a grinning Dana White proclaimed it to be "one of the greatest fights ever".
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Well from a damage perspective Diego won it, and from a grappling perspective he won it too. UFC Standards don't say takedowns should be points, it's just the judges are too stupid to understand anything other than takedowns. By UFC criteria, Diego got the first round.
