Bruiser Chong Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Yanks fans bitch about their pitchers getting squeezed, but they may have a case with Dotel on that 2-2 pitch.
mike546 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 GAH. The one team we cannot beat. GAH. Atleast the Sox lost.
Vern Gagne Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Half a game up on the White Sox for the Wildcard. Five games behind Detroit for the division. Only four in the loss column.
vivalaultra Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Wow. I just heard about Ken Rosenthal, one of the only talking heads I slightly trust, say something about how Carlos Lee WANTS to be an Astro. Supposedly, on of the only reasons he didn't hire Scott Boras to represent him was because the Astros and Boras don't have a very good relationship (although Willy Taveras's agent is Scott Boras. That could get complicated in a few years if Willy keeps developing into a very good leadoff guy). Also, Carlos owns a very, very big ranch right outside of Houston. Of the three "big bats" that the Astros are supposedly looking in to-Soriano, Lee, and Vernon Wells-Lee would be my second choice behind Soriano, but hey...ya can't go wrong with Carlos Lee. Add him and a FA pitcher, probably not Zito, maybe Schmidt, Hell, even Mike Mussina (who I think would dominate the NL) and that's an Astros team that would win the division right there. Boy howdy. Also, I was happy to see Willy T's hit streak get some attention on BBTN last night, even if it was only Tino Martinez talking about how fast he is and Jeff Brantley laughing at him. Halfway to Dimaggio! Although, with the coverage Willy's probably jinxed.
Guest Paul Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 I'm really tiring of the Angels. In 2002. In 2005...and currently. Game's on FOX today at 4.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 For anyone watching Cubs/Cards: have they talked about anything OTHER than why Dusty shouldn't be fired? I got home during the fifth and I think they've talked about the game here and there, but it's mostly been, you can't fire Dusty because ______.
jwest27 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Yeah, I noticed that. HE'S BEEN A WINNER EVERYWHERE HE GOES.

If for some reason he doesn't, hes said he wants to go Baltimore, or Philly, or the Mets.
vivalaultra Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Yeah, I heard all that about Moose. I wasn't saying that the Astros would have a shot at getting him or are even interested in him, I was just thinking of FA pitchers besides Ztio or Schmidt that aren't Woody Williams or Tomo Ohka. Either way, if I could get one FA pitcher for the Astros in 2007, it would be MUssina...over Zito and Schmidt. He's cerebral~!
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Ignore any and all reports about how a free agent wants to be on this team, or has family in this neighborhood, or anything of that nature. It's all filler, and doesn't mean anything. Trust me on this one.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 I didn't understand lifting Hill, but replacing him with Howry made even less sense. You bring in one of your best closers to face the 8, 9 and 1 hitters. Then you bring in one of your worst relievers in the ninth to face the middle of the order. For all the blah, blah, blahing the FOX announcers did today about why Dusty shouldn't be fired; this was a perfect example of why he shouldn't be brought back.

It's all filler, and doesn't mean anything. Trust me on this one. Hey, it worked with Clemens and Pettitte... And now they have a successful line of commercials for H.E.B. grocery stores.
naiwf Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Stud FA pitchers won't go to Houston when they see Clemens give up 1 or 2 ER per 6 innings in more or less every start he makes and end up with as many no decisions as wins because the Asstros have no offense.
Guest Princess Leena Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Trade K-Rod (no, that's taken... ) Gay-Rod to the Asstros! He'd fit in perfectly!
naiwf Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Fasano is a black hole in the lineup. What good is a defensive catcher if he's an automatic out/rally killer?
mike546 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Jesus fucking christ. What the hell is it with the Angels? Why does average Chones Figgins turn into Ricky Henderson in his prime against us, why does average Adam Kennedy turn into Tony Gwynn against us, why does freaking Mike Napoli, batting .101 up until August, turn into Mike Piazza against us? Why does the corpse of Garret Anderson turn into Garret Anderson of his prime when hes playing the Yankees? Fuck the ralley monkey and fuck the thundersticks, I hate the Angels.
naiwf Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 That was an ATROCIOUS attempt at giving himself up by Izturis. It's a fucking squeeze douchebag. You're not trying to take a pitch in that spot.
Guest Princess Leena Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Why did the Blue Jays decide to blow in the 2nd half. I hate them most.
Guest NYankees Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Steve Lyons is a fucking asshole for giggling like a little bitch when they show a replay of Jeter getting hit by a pitch.
mike546 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 A Yankee pitcher standing up for his teamate! Holy shit!
naiwf Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 A Yankee pitcher standing up for his teamate! Holy shit! Is Joe awake? Surely someone else called for the brush back pitch.
treble Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Why did the Blue Jays decide to blow in the 2nd half. I hate them most. Halladay's getting the Clemens treatment today. He's only given up 4 hits through 8, 2 of them solo homers in the 1st and 2nd, but the Jays can't get anything across on Runelvys Hernandez (!) and are making him look like Cy Young.
mike546 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Guerrero looked terrible on his swing after Bruney brushed him back. I just WONDER what Ortiz would look like against the Yankees if they just tried brushing him back, just once.
Brett Favre Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 If it wasn't Torre, it was probably Bowa. Or maybe Bruney on his own; cool. Would have been even more interesting if Farnsworth threw it.
