Cheapest People you know

Recommended Posts

Guest NYankees

One of my friends is so cheap that he refuses to pay for a ticket whenever we go to the movies. Just so we dont have to hear him bitch, one of my friends will go back to the front of the theater and bring him a used stub and my friend will act like he went to the bathroom and is going back into the movies.

I'm the cheapest person I know.

Besides me, I don't know to be honest. I'm trying to think of someone.

How old is this person?

28. I was hoping to hear some good stories from other people.

My grandfather is the worst. He wouldn't get NBC for his wife because it would have added two bucks to his Direct TV bill.

I forgot something, he's kinda rich.

My boss. He'll pay for all the cable we need to sell (since we'll be selling it, it's a business expense), and will buy a few nice cars and these huge plasma TVs...but when he needs something done around his house he can't do himself, he'll take me or my pal/co-worker Crawford out of work to do it for him. Won't pay the one-time fee to get one of us OSHA certification to run the forklift (which we know how to do anyway, just it'd be - y'know - LEGAL with the OSHA certification) so that we can train any new employees AND save him some cash should an accident occur in the warehouse, and motherfucker argued with my immediate boss when she got me a dollar raise. 9 to 10 an hour. He ARGUED it, despite me driving all over New England's eastern seaboard to make him money.

Oh...and I knew this Jew who wouldn't shell out the $5 for a pack of Marlboro's so he'd buy the $3 specials (usually USA Gold) instead and "trade" (read: steal good cigs and replace 'em with his cheapass kind when they weren't looking) them all away.

My friends and I would do that at New Roc all the time during the previous summers. We would go early in the day on a rainy day during the summer. I remember seeing Xmen 2, POTC and L/X all on the same day.

Sneaking into a movie is cool when you're 12 but once you reached adulthood, it's just pathetic. It's 10 bucks. Are you that frugal you need to do that?

As for the topic, I get where Laz is coming with cheap ass bosses but the cheapest was actually a co-worker who always found a way to scam someone into buying his lunch or he would actually mooch off other's lunch (especially on days we'd order pizza). The kind of guy who sits at the table and waits for someone to inevitably declare "Anyone want (insert food item)?" and he'd snatch it up right away. How cheap are you that you won't spring $0.50 for a goddamn bag of Lays?

I was out with my friend and her roommates last Friday. Her dude roommate, every time he was up to buy a round, he'd order the drinks and then go outside to smoke when the arrived so he wouldn't have to pay. Whatta prick...

That's just sad. Tell him to use his internet connection to download bootlegs. At least that way he doesn't have to act like this in public.

$10 adds up. If you want to see two movies, and the times match up, why not just walk into another one and save the money?

I forgot I'm talking to Choken "it's just money" One.

My dad. I broke my wrist on Thanksgiving Day, and he wouldn't take me to the hospital or emergency room because he wanted me to wait and see if it was going to be okay without going to the doctor for it (ie. didn't want the hospital bill).

For a 10 minute drive, gas in SC will run you approx. 50 cents cheaper than it will in Georgia at the moment. I have a friend that refuses to make the drive because it will "waste gas". So he casually goes about paying $2.85 for gas, while I get it for $2.32. For 2 or 3 cents, I normally wouldn't bother either, but to save close to, or over 50 cents depending on location, I'll drive 10 minutes. I'm not sure if that qualifies as cheap, or just plain lazy.

I usually complain about having to pay for things I don't want to pay for. I think that's everyone though. Like I have no problem shelling out a bunch of money for DVDs but when it comes to buying groceries...I bitch(still do it but i complain).

My thing is that I don't like to spend a bunch of money at once. Like if there's two DVDs I want I'll buy one one day and go back and buy another the next day because it just feels like less money.

It's also hard for me to shell out actual cash rather than use my debit card.

Personally, I need to save the money to buy more frames for my movie posters.

Who can sit in the theatre that long anyways? After one movie it feels great to be outside.

That's not really being cheap as paying $1.50+ (at most places) for watered down soda is stupid.

So you can hate on people who want to save 10 dollars by sneaking into another movie after they see one but when someone wants to save a dollar on a soda thats ok? Hmmmmmmmm. I hardly ever get watered down fountain soda at a restaurant and it is usually always free refills.

Rather than pay video store late fees, I just get an account at a different video store.

Guest Felonies!

I was going to open an account at Blockbuster last night because I was in the mood to watch Rosemary's Baby, but when I said "hi, I'd like to open an account," the woman at the counter rolled her eyes at me and quite audibly groaned. Hey, fuck you, lady. Is this a big undertaking for you? As it turned out, I didn't have a cable bill or cell phone along with my driver's license, so I couldn't open said account anyway. I don't even want to anyway; the selection is beyond poor.
