Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 My local tv station just reported that the Yankees are moving their AAA club to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Looks like you'll be a Yankees fan now, huh Al? I wonder why they're leaving Columbus.......
devo 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 This is kinda unexpected, since they were supposed to begin constructing a new stadium for the Clippers later this year. Oh well. I'm not too sad to see 'em go, since the only time I went to the stadium (which is constantly filled with irritating goobers who know nothing about baseball) was when the Tides were in town. mike546 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 What exactly happens when a team changes affliates? Do they get the players from the new team? Or do the players just transfer players? or what?
KingPK 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 They probably can just purchase the contracts of the guys that they want to keep from the old team, put them on the 40-man roster and send them to the new team.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 Boof pitched well again. Still don't like the idea of Boof being the number two starter against the Yankees.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 What exactly happens when a team changes affliates? Do they get the players from the new team? Or do the players just transfer players? or what? All players are the property of their parent clubs. It's as if the Columbus Clippers picked up and moved to Scranton. Except that there's so much roster turnover in the minors that most of the players will be new anyway.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 A tip to Yankee fans this weekend: If you really want to be witty, chant "Twent-y nine-ty!" *clap clap clapclapclap* as 2004 + 86 years = 2090, the next time the Red Sox will win a World Series. It's easy to chant, rolls off the tongue, and will annoy the dozens of Red Sox fans that still give a crap about the 2006 season. You can't say I'm never helpful. Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 At least if the Yankees sweep them this weekend, I doubt anyone will actually notice.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted September 15, 2006 The Diamondbacks are letting Luis Gonzalez go at the end of the year. The Cubs should pick him up, because he kills us without fail. Whoa, Twins got it down to one game back. Santana is starting tonight, so they could move into a tie for first. Good for them!

Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 I disagree. You still gotta play the games. More time for the younger players though, so it's not that bad.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 Yanks-Sox Rained Out. so they will play a doubleheader on both SAT AND SUNDAY Whoo-hoo, 20 hours of baseball in two days (and the games will only go 9 innings)! Bullpen arms blowing out like old tires! Pedroia and Mirabelli racing to see who can drop under a .100 BA first! The scoreboard operator figuring out how to display a 20-run inning when Mike Timlin gets on the mound! Fun!

treble 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2006 Well, the Jays saved Roy Halladay from another tough luck loss coming back in the 9th to tie it against the Rays, but he's still not going to get his 17th win after going 9 innings giving up 3 runs.
