David and Mary have been a treat to watch, I must say. For people who've never set foot on an airplane and only been out of state once in their lives they've done an excellent job of dispelling the notion that southern Americans are.......ya know........southern Americans.

Why does it seem like Sarah's doing all the physical challenges while Peter sits back like a douche and acts like the most annoying motivational speaker alive? And while she guts it out and is proud of herself for accomplishing the task, he whines like a little bitch when things get too hard for him.

Yeah, last night's entry was pretty disappointing. None of the challenges of even the locales were all that exciting.

I found the ocean views to be quite beautiful but that was pretty much the only saving grace of the episode.

See, I thought the episode was pretty good, mostly due to the challenges. The challenges, while not exciting, were all based on skill, strength/determination, and correct decision-making, as opposed to clue-hunting & luck. It seems that they're actually making the racers work this time around, which is a refreshing change of pace from the last few seasons.

Also, I found it pretty funny when 2 of the teams (blondes and the 2 moms?) showed up & listened intently to some crickets chirping, thinking it could have been the auditory clue.

I think Jonathan retired that trophy, but he's definitely leading the Non-Jonathan Division for general race douchebaggery. You would think, given what he does for a living, that he would KNOW why Sarah can't go faster and SHUT UP ALREADY, but no. The conversation while waiting for the bus was painful. She wants him to stop badgering her, so he decides this means they should just quit. Passive-aggressive much?

Thank God they changed the non-elim stipulation. That works much better in the context of the race. Robbing them at the mat was stupid, and generally pointless.

Speaking of Jonathan, Victoria gave birth to a daughter earlier this month. Jonathan wasted no time yelling at Victoria to breast feed faster.

I made that second part up, btw.

I like the "marked for elimination" stip. Penalties at the beginning of the leg mean nothing, but now that they know that they're getting an automatic 30 minute penalty if they don't finish first, it encourages teams to go for it, especially given how they always bunch them up.

But what will be interesting will be if the other teams use this as strategy. David and Mary are not a strong team, so it could actually be advantageous for a team to concede first to them (and check in second) to negate the time penalty in the hopes that a strong team finishes last. For the most part, the teams have a pretty good idea of where they are in the standings, so I think it can be done, but it'd be tricky.

I loved the fake cellphone bit the Cho brothers pulled, but as I told my wife right after they did it, "it's gonna bite them in the ass". And it kinda did, as Dr. Douche borrowed a phone to secure tickets. Perhaps that little joke also caused them to have diarreha of the mouth later when they told Dr. Douche and the Girls about their flight.

I wouldn't be surprised if David/Mary go for a Fast Forward next week. It sure looked like a lot of time passed between The Model Addicts finishing 6th & David/Mary finishing 7th, so they're already going to be a ways behind. Add that on top of the prospective 30 min. penalty, and they pretty much have no choice but to go for it (unless they profit from some fortuitous bunching).

And speaking of D/M, I liked the spot where David/Mary said "we don't think we're in last place", only to have "currently in last place" flash up on screen. D'oh!

I wonder what the time gap is between Dustin/Kandice and the 3rd place team? They had roughly 1.5 - 2 hour headstart due to their earlier flight, so it'll be interesting to see how much of that head start they (and Pater/Sarah) were able to maintain. Although, it probably won't matter much, since the majority of the teams will probably be forced to bunch up at the beginning of next week's episode (we already saw D/K and Lyn/Karlyn having issues next week in the previews, so goodbye head start).

Kimberly came off looking bad this week, IMO, when she & Rob were on the bus. Stuff like "I wish we were in Europe", "it smells like fish", "I want to be in the rich countries". Way to look like a gigantic ass on national television.

Also, that automatic camel-whipper-thing from next week's previews got a laugh out of me.

I kept praying for someone on the bus to know English well enough to figure out what she was saying so I could watch the fireworks that would ensue.

I had a flashback to Colin and Christie on the bus in India a few years back and Christie telling Colin "Don't let anybody touch me". Kim said the same thing to Rob last night.

To be fair, every time the Race goes through India and the teams have to take a train, the women get groped. So I can see how they might be on the defensive there.

Actually I was hoping that they'd go there last season. Just because I'd have enjoyed seeing Yolanda kick some ass due to attempted gropage.

What an awesome Fast Forward. "You can't move on to the Pit Stop unless you come within a couple feet of this GIGANTIC RAGING FIRE."

Again Peter makes Sarah do the Road Block? What the fuck is wrong with this guy?

Posted

Peter has now wrested the title of Biggest Douche in Reality TV History by making his crippled girlfriend do TWO straight climbing challenges he could have done while he lounges from a distance. I don't like wishing injury on anyone, but his smug ass deserves it.

YES! I hope Peter gets his ass WHIPPED when someone sees him in the street. Sarah deserved better, and at least she figured it out there unlike Victoria in a past season.

I'd say the Cho Bros. deserved to be eliminated based on their insanely retarded niceness policy.

There's nice, and there's waaaaaaay too nice. These two make Chip and Kim look like Jonathan the O.D. (Original Douche). Karma, obviously, is smiling down at them.

Yet somehow, they fell ass backwards onto a good play. By handing a weaker team (KY) the Fast Forward, a stronger team (Sarah and Dr. Douche) got eliminated. Ignore the fact that I was throwing things at my television shouting "what the fuck are you doing?" at the Chos.

Yay blondes!

That was pretty ugly at the ticket counter. Alabama had a legitimate beef there, and both the Blondes & Addicts came off looking bad. On the plus side, we got the Blondes in bikinis, as well as jumping around at the pit stop.

Was surprised at another non-elim leg so soon after the last.

I wonder what the "Intersection" deal next week is going to be?

Oy. Dave and Mary need to go if they're just blatantly not going to race. Also, was that the stupidest decision at the salt Detour by Kentucky or what? Faced with a choice between certainly being in last and possibly getting lucky and not coming in last, I'd take possibly not last every time. Leaving that Detour was dumb, dumb, dumb.

I know Alabama didn't, but I wonder if the Chos and/or Kentucky honestly thought they were going to pull their alliance into the final three. I think they applied for the wrong CBS show.

I think the Chos wanted to set up a final 3 where they could walk to victory, but also look honorable in doing so. The only thing they've not counted on is the fact that if the wait to do the whole "6 Pack" shit and get yielded, they're d-o-n-e!
