Does anyone think that if a male teacher had raped a 14 year old girl that they'd have him telling his story on a national news special in the same way that they treated the story last night? No, they'd be tying him up and preparing to throw rocks at his head.

 

I mean, I understand why guys don't have a problem with it, as it really is a fantasy that most of us had in school (especially around 12-14 years old when most guys will stick their cocks into just about anything), but the way that this story has progressed now, she's told her story...not in a blow by blow account (no pun intended), but certainly with enough detail to give everyone a vivid picture of it in their heads, and now she's basically free because the guy didn't want to testify. There is a big difference between an adult female simply offering up sex and an adult male putting forth coercion and self-esteem tricks in order to break down a girl mentally to where she will have sex with him.

 

If you can't see the difference you are blind or ignorant. Once again, it doesn't make either situation right, but they are still definately different.

You have to know I am talking in general here, as there is always an exception to the rule, however looking at a picture of Debra Lafave, I can guarantee you that self-esteem issues would have little to do with a teenage boy chomping at the bit to bone her. You missed the part where I said I was speaking in general. I never said anything about the boy being handsome with high self esteem, and I never said the girls had to be overweight and/or ugly. There were plenty of attractive girls at my school that weren't "popular" because they just didn't get along with the poplular girls for whatever reason.

 

I have mentioned at least twice that I am speaking in general and not for every single case ever put out there, so there is no reason to be rebuffing my statements by using words like "Never" or "Always"

 

I had a World Civ. teacher in highschool who has a good looking dude, and all the hot chicks would talk about wanting to get with him, but it was all talk, and actually being propositioned by him would have had them trembling look fools and not knowing what to do. Basically, all the arguments I see in this thread are "it's bad for girls, so it must be bad for guys too" or "who says teen girls can't be as horny as guys". While those may be good arguments for why 14 year old girls should be able to consent to sex, they are not arguments for why 14 year old guys should not be able to consent.

 

I wouldn't mind at the very least a drastic reduction in penalties for men that have sex with 14-17 year old girls, but that really is not the focus here.
