Guest Smues Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 For the first time I finally saw some Wiis in a store (Walmart). I think it actually took longer last year before I ever saw an Xbox 360. I'm curious enough to probably go back to Walmart tonight and see if any are left or if they still get gobbled up quickly.
EricMM Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Must...resist...the siren's call...of Wiis in Wal-Mart... Must...be a good...liberal... Auuugh! [/Calvin] Luckily there are like NO Wal-Marts arond here, the nearest one is like fifteen miles away or something. We're an anamoly.
World's Worst Man Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 You're really not missing much by not having a Wii.
Guest Queen Leelee Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 True. Games start picking up in March, though.

Big Ol' Smitty Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 I went to about five stores in Lexington today to try to find a Wii. No luck Too bad for them because I planned on buying the system, 1 or 2 of the nunchucks, Wii Play, Zelda, & maybe the classic controller. But alas...

dubq Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 How is it that there isn't enough stock for this system.. still? I'm starting to wonder why Nintendo doesn't just offer the ability to order the console online directly from them.
Craig Th Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 I rented Wii Play today and they forgot to put the game into the damn case. (since they lock up the video games)

Boner Kawanger Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 I picked up a Classic Controller over the weekend. Does anyone know why it looks like it can snap onto something? The button on the top middle looks to release it from whatever it may or may not connect to..
Guest Queen Leelee Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 The slot things on the Classic Controller do nothing thus far.
BUTT Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 According to the Gamespot forums, today's VC releases are: Donkey Kong Country Streets of Rage The Legend of Kage New Adventure Island
Boner Kawanger Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I don't see DKC, but the other three are up.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I went to about 9 stores to try to find a Wii this fine President's morning. No luck
ragingfear79 Posted February 19, 2007 Author Report Posted February 19, 2007 Cool on Streets of Rage and Legend Of Kage, I love those two games.
EricMM Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Same here, I'm looking and calling, but no one has any. Maybe they don't ship until tomorrow...
Guest Queen Leelee Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Use itrackr. Wait until Target/Circuit City gets any (EB and Gamestop's inventory is wrong and useless, don't bother with them). They'll usually put them on the shelves 15-30 minutes later, so you don't even have to hurry.
EricMM Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I have it open on my browser right now so... Sadly 1/23 stores "have" Wii's, the 1 being a EB in Wheaton that has "had" one all weekend, despite not having it on Friday. I'm tryin'!
Guest Smues Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Is New Adventure Island more like NES Adventure Island 1, or more like NES Adventure Island 2&3? Edit: Looks like its similiar to Adventure Island 1. Boo. I'll still probably buy it when I get home.
muzz Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Do Super International Cricket you bastards.
AndrewTS Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I'm guessing soon we're getting Donkey Kong Country Yeeeeeeeeah, who called it? Make sure to have your umbrellas ready while browsing game websites this week, to protect you from the collective pissing and moaning about DKC from the gaming press. In case you didn't get the memo, you're not allowed to like the game, since Miyamoto once expressed disgust over it.
EricMM Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 So here's the story: I hear that an FYE in Wheaton, MD has one. I am in College park, MD. Basically if DC is a clock, I have to go from say Two o clock to One o clock, maybe Twelve thirty. Maybe eight miles. Took about an hour. Missed the unit by half an hour. Should never have tried Tried all kinds of stores in the local mall, BBuy in the area. Nothing. Oh well, I had to try.

I've already seen the game described as varying degrees of overrated in three seperate stories.
Black Lushus Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 I liked the DKC games...2, in particular, was tougher than shit!
EricMM Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 I had such a good time with DKC, wtf. Haters
World's Worst Man Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 DKC2 was rocking at the time. But I'd imagine it hasn't aged well, like 99% of games from that era.
Black Lushus Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 yeah, I recently gave it another whirl on my emulator and I'm just not feeling it like I did back in the day...I spent hours upon hours trying to get all those damn DK coins, I think I ended up 3 short.
fazzle Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 DKC 1 and 2 were awesome. 3, however, was the drizzling shits.
EricMM Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 And now all the stores in wheaton got shipments in (target, etc.) SHIT. FUCK!
