AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 The only thing that takes up any major room on my 360 hard drive is a) the software that comes on it anyway, b) game demos, which usually don't stay on there long anyway. I don't know how much space the typical PS1 games takes up if you download it from the PSN store, but depending on the compression used it likely isn't much. Downloading entire movies would take up the most space, if one opts to do that. However, since one of the major PS3 selling points is its Blu-Ray player, I don't think that feature will be used too much for a while.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2007 MGS4 has been officially delayed until 2nd quarter of 2008. Source: 1up via Konami official announcement, also Captain Obvious' pet carrier pidgeon, Duh. Interestingly, the press release says the delay stems from attempts "to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide." Craig Th 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 I CAN'T seem to play MP4s anymore. Everytime I put an MP4 onto my flash drive, it says unsupported data. And I don't get why. I am doing EXACTLY what I did before and it isn't working. Anyone know why?
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Well I'm getting the 80 gb version either tonight or tomorrow through the mail. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how the following games are. Oblivion Conan Darkness and basically are there any good racing games out right now?
MrRant 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Oblivion is the only one I'd spend money on without playing a demo first. The other two, play the demo on the PSN network.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2007 2 Questions: Is there ane xpandable USB hub/switch available for the PS3? I am buying the 40gb model next week, and the 2 USB ports will be filled upon purchase. Is the wireless guitar that comes with GHIII rechargable, or do you have to replace batteries? Craig Th 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2007 I believe any hub will work for it.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2007 For the GH3 Guitar you need to replace the batteries. Ok, so what about the wireless PS3 controllers themselves. Do they charge when not in use, or do they have to have batteries replaced as well? EDIT: Nevermind, they do charge w/USB cable, but do the controllers come with the USB cable for re-charging, or is the usb cable a seperate purchase?

USB cables come with them, as it's like the 360's Play n' Charge kit, but with a built-in battery. The battery is like an iPod or GBA SP/DS battery. When it finally dies it will need to be replaced, but that'll be, like, years probably.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2007 I wonder why they didn't make the guitar rechargable. Also, there seems to be something about the 2.0 firmware upgrade that is fucking up the PS3. Oh and Sony is saying that DUST voids the PS3 warranty now....lol http://consumerist.com/consumer/sony/dust-...3-warranty-3212 26.php

Oh and Sony is saying that DUST voids the PS3 warranty now....lol This could be a bigger widespread issue than the RROD. Aside from playing Blu-Ray discs, the thing that the PS3 was best at in the past year was collecting dust. I kid, but it's possible they had a fair argument. Apple has done the same thing with at least one computer that I know of, because the inside of a computer had crucial components caked with huge piles of dirt, hair and a rich, foul stench of cigarette smoke. Let's not even insinuate this reaches the stupidity and stubbornness of "things break." However, the woman he spoke to sounded like a huge TWA/T. Plus, a Mac can be opened and blasted with a good dose of canned air now and then. What are you supposed to do with a game console that, when opened, causes you to void its warranty? Well now there are reports about that story being fake and/or Sony saying the claim was false. Other folks have called Sony and the reps denied that dust voids the warranty. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2007 If my Kmart had PS3's (they dont) Id seriously go and use the %20 coupon KMart has that people have been using to get the 40GB PS3 for $319.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2007 Well I just got back from Gamestop and turned in all My PS2 stuff including the broken system, and I got $120 in store credit...which makes me happy because I thought the max I would get was around $50. For $15 I got a subscription to game informer magazine and it added another 30% to my total trade-in value.....so this will make it possible to maybe pickup a second game with my PS3 on Wednesday, and maybe a 2nd controller. The Buzz 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 Well I've had my ps3 for about five days now. I really like it so far. Fight Night Round 3 has been tremendously fun for me. Resistance:Fall of Man has my attention so far as well, and I'm not usually a big first person shooter guy. Lair I'm on the fence with so far. It has a WII like control thing going on where you move the controller to control what happens onscreen. I'm not quite sure if I like that. Ninja Gaiden: Sigma is just as badass as the last one I played on the original X-Box. Now I just have to read the manual and figure out how to hook the think up to my cable internet. Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 PS3 sales have rocketed in our store this month - but that's due to no one else having 60GB PS3s left, and word getting around that Sony aren't making anymore... and probably it being, you know, Christmas. There's still no games to play on it though.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 There's still no games to play on it though. Well, in addition to Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, and Motorstorm, there's the recently released Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank Future, and Smackdown vs. Raw 08. Plus, Time Crisis 4 and Uncharted are coming out next week, and the latter is getting great scores all around. lol no games Those "recent" releases are all within the last month or so. Meanwhile, the amount of worthwhile release Wii games can be counted on a one shop teacher's hand.

Plus at $60 a pop, it's not like I am running out to buy fix or six games in a hurry. Until more used copies start showing up at a reasonably discounted price, I am going to concentrate on one or two games that I really enjoy, rather then just building up a mass of games. Also, as more sales of the console happen, maybe it gives incentive to gaming companies to put forth the effort to take advantage of the PS3's superior hardware. I have been trying to tell so many microsoft fanboys(well, not so much microsoft fanboys as "gamers that like Halo and have sworn off the PS3 merely because it doesn't have Halo as if there are no gamers out there on the planet that aren't buying a system based on a 1st person shooter) that the PS3 will be fine once the price comes down, and it looks like $400 may have been the magic number, and there is also a rumored further price drop in time for Christmas. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 Some pictures of the "dusty" PS3 that Sony wouldn't fix Id say that it looks like its more than just a case of dust..and somewhere in the manual theres always a provision on the warranty that it wont cover neglect by the owner, which is what it looks like happened..
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 Whether or not it presents a health risk might be stretching it, but that is definately more than "dust" LOL.

All look like generic games for their genre at best. Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, and Smackdown vs. Raw 08 I can get on the 360 much cheaper and are just as good, if not better.
