But, ignore that point anyway, because who knows what NFL teams can give their players, or what the player had.

But if he didn't and this is all a stunt, there may be legal ramifications. And suicide IS illegal, but AFAIK, you would probably get mandatory counseling or something.

New reports are now saying that the suicide reports were false, and that he's been released from the hospital and will hold a press conference at Valley Ranch today. If he really attempted suicide would he already be released?

Hawk 34 Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 This is what really annoys me about our society in general today, the additional "publicity stunt" comments that have flown around the second this story broke. Granted, with a character like Owens, it might be justified to assume he would do something along these lines but his past record for his stunts doesn't match this specific incident. There's a extreme difference between having a workout session in your driveway in front of the media and taking 35 pills. The stories about TO's past has always been somewhat known but generally ignored (childhood abuse, absentee father that turned out to be his neighbor, alchoholic grandmother) but since this particular event occured, people are paying more attention to those facts and taking in consideration in regards to SF and Philly requesting mental health evaluations in the past for him. Do I think he attempted suicide? I don't know and I'm not going to speculate on that aspect because I only know fragments of what really happened here, it's far from my place to state my belief. I just think people need to drop the idiotic notion that it's merely a stunt. No one pops 35 pills just to be the lead-off story for Sportscenter. T.O doesn't need to do that. Do I buy that it was merely an allergic reaction? Sure, but who accidently takes that many pills? It's stretch and I think this whole situation has alot more to see developed before we can get a accurate picture of what happened.

Parcells or McNabb. One of them is getting blamed because now the media feels sorry for Owens.
