I just can't see the staff not adjusting around that time period and having another game like last year against the Panthers.

If they've failed to adjust heretofore, I don't see them deciding to adjust later. They won't use the shotgun because Olin Kreutz refuses to. Isn't he one of the highest-paid centers in football now? Come on. If Grossman's weakness is being easily pressured, maybe that's what they need to do. Or they can just let him tremble in fear and throw into coverage. Whatever works.

Ugh, because we really needed another Denver night game. The Broncos will have 5 night games by Thanksgiving.

And if they don't have a night game, they have the second day game that goes to everybody who doesn't have a home team playing at the time, which is anywhere from 80% to all of the country. Who wants to set up a Denver Broncos drinking game with me? Key phrases: "could there be a quarterback controversy?", something involving a Mike Shanahan system for running backs

Actually, "CTBaQBC?" might be better suited for the pregame shows. Kansas City, Dallas, maybe Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville, Dallas, we just have quarterback controversies everywhere, don't we.

It's really ridiculous considering Denver also has the night game on Thanksgiving, 4 days after that game. But, whatever. Not like I'd be watching either, anyway.

This year's Colts remind me almost exactly of the 2002 Raiders. The same hype and everything, minus the old men on the team.

Which means they'll get annihilated by a great defense from the NFC in the Super Bowl, if things go the same way.

go with whoever is winning games for you, I say...yeah, Trent Green got put out of action at the start of the season, poor fella...but Huard is keeping them going, why fuck it up now?

Isn't this basically what happened to the '99 Rams? Does Damon Huard have a dying wife?

Posted

He went down in Game 1 this season, so it's practically the same in that regard.

The big difference is that Larry Johnson is keeping this team afloat, rather than the new QB

And Herm Edwards would be more annoying on a Super Bowl stage than Vermeil ever was. Well, to most others besides me. I love Herm.

Kyle Orton had virtually nothing to do with that eight game win streak (or the Bears' success all year, for that matter).

They went on an eight game tear last year against the softer part of their schedule because the defense was playing out of their minds; in six of the eight games, they held the opposition to under 10 points, with two road games against the Lions (13 points) and the Saints (17 points) being the exceptions. The Detroit game had Orton's best stats over the whole streak (230 yards, 1 TDs, no INTs), but he never came close to that for any of the other seven games.

My point is if Kyle was so terrible, he'd turn over the ball a lot more, and even the 1985 Bears D couldn't recover that. He was not a good QB by any means, but he did the job.

A better "At least he isn't...." example would be someone like Ryan Leaf who would actually kill any teams he played for.

*Checks calendar year*

Who cares about Kyle Orton?

Strahan is out 2-4 weeks with his sprained foot. Not good. The article doesn't state if Osi or Justin Tuck will be ready for Sunday Night's game. Awww shit...

Isn't that why they drafted Kiwinuka?

Yup. But they didn't draft TWO ends. I'm fine with the rookie playing one end. But it would be nice if Osi were there on the other side.

It's sad how ESPN is trying to fool us into thinking this is a significant game tonight.

Note to ESPN: Your games all suck for the next month. Please stop trying.

Question-

Who'll represent the NFC in the Super Bowl?

The contenders appear to be Chicago, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, Atlanta, Carolina, Dallas, and St. Louis.

Minnesota takes themselves out of competition, IMHO, by getting shut down against the pitiful 49ers D.

Each has their own set of hurdles to overcome.

Chicago- Get more consistency out of the offense.

New Orleans- Fix the running game. They've got Deuce, Bush, and Aaron Stecker, but they've got some of the worst run numbers in the league.

New York- Put together four quarters. They almost lost against Philly and DID lose against the Seahawks because they didn't show up until the 4th Quarter.

Seattle- Survive. Until Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander come back from their injuries, they're in danger of their playoff position going into the toilet.

Atlanta- Get more consistency out of the passing game. Vick put up two good games in the air, but they're still #30 in passing yards and #1 on the ground.

Carolina- Make the ground game work. Steve Smith can put up a ton of yards but their lack of a running game means that the DBs will key off of him.

Dallas- Fix the Scoring Defense (They're middling at giving up points) and, for God's sake, win a freakin' game against the Giants or Eagles.

St. Louis- Fix the defense and run Steven Jackson more.
