Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2006 Man, whatever Carbaneou said after the second intermission must have done somthing. Giving up 22 shots in the second period, to only FOUR SHOTS in the third.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2006 Ken Hitchcock is the new head coach in Columbus. Did anyone see Miller save last night against Toronto. Best save of the year so far.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2006 Geez, the Senators won a one-goal game. Maye the tide really is turning -- even if it was against the worst team in the conference.

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 So in case they weren't hated enough around the league, the Leafs have loaned their likenesses to a movie in production...a comedy about a gay ex-Leaf who's dating a current team lawyer. The couple wants to adopt a child. I'm sure this will endear the Leafs on road trips in hot-beds of openmindedness like Raleigh and Atlanta. On the other hand, there may finally be some base to the over-used insult of "Toronto Make-Me-Laughs"

Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Ian White got charged for driving with his license suspended. Biggest game of the season so far as Buffalo vs Montreal is tonight. (Well it is important, but lets face it. Buffalo is gonna win 6-2 tonight).

Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Two small rumours flying around the NHL. The Flyers are trying to get rid of Kyle Calder as he has only three points so far this season and a -14. Of course someone would have to pick up his $2.93 million salary. Also possible rumour trade that Brendan Morrison of Vancouver might be heading off to Chicago for Brent Seabrook. Of course someone would have to pick up his $2.93 million salary. Also possible rumour trade that Brendan Morrison of Vancouver might be heading off to Chicago for Brent Seabrook. If Tallon makes that trade, he deserves to be hung. Morrison might be able to land an autographed photo of Seabrook, not much more.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 From what I've heard Tallon has shot down the deal, and would not trade Seabrook unless something good comes around.
the max 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 From what I've heard Tallon has shot down the deal, and would not trade Seabrook unless something good comes around. From Vancouver's standpoint, the trade would start with Luc Bourdon and likely Schneider, their goaltending prospect. The Blackhawks would be absolutely stupid to trade Seabrook, but then again, they're not exactly known for making the best personnel decisions. edit: Just found where that rumor started. Hockeybuzz.com, from Eklund specifically. If he's an insider for all things trade-wise, so am I.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Morrison's nothing without Naslund and Bertuzzi....so there you go. 6-1 Leafs through two (!)
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Someone tell me why there are teams in Florida again? This is some of the worst ice I've ever seen. And it's NOVEMBER. 3-3 between the Sens and Panthers after two. Sens were up 3-1 at one point.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Someone tell me why there are teams in Florida again? This is some of the worst ice I've ever seen. And it's NOVEMBER. 3-3 between the Sens and Panthers after two. Sens were up 3-1 at one point. Fuck, when did that happen? I saw 3-1 for the Sens with eight to play in the second, but only had been casually watching the ticker during Smackdown. Tucker scores his 16th tonight, with 20 to play at the Verizon Center. He's now one behind the league lead, ahead of *brace yourself* Jagr, Thornton, St. Louis, Briere, Afigenov, Iginla, Naslund, Forsberg, well, you get the idea. Everyone but Shanny at this point. I'll go fucking ballistic if his season total is anything more than half of the names just mentioned. No score in Buffalo. Outshot 12-6 in the first, were the Sabres. Whatever Guy mentioned during the second period Wednesday resonated...
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 They got one with seven to play, then a PP goal right at the end of the period. Nothing Emery could have done on either one; they were both tip-ins.

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Agreed with Huet, but with an asterisk. It's not unforseeable that Aebischer that will still play 50 games this year....the big thing still is determing who is officially the starter (not just in Montreal, San Jose, Anaheim and maaaaaaaaaybe Florida could have a similar predicament by the time spring rolls around). Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Abby is not a starter for Montreal, when you are ranked first in Save percentage and possibly third for GAA as of right now. I can see Abby getting traded at the deadline and bring up Danis from Hamilton.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 I can't believe Vancouver has gotten so bad offensively. That used to be the one thing they did best. Now that they've finally got a great goaltender, they still find a way to underachieve.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 I know I'll get reamed for this but: Bertuzzi was and had been Vancouver's offense for the longest time. Teams planned for it, and Vancouver planned it with him in it. Right now Vancouver doesn't have someone bonified as the star so you don't hafta "key" anyone on the roster, and Vancouver doesn't have anyone to have a "go to" reaction. I'm dreading how much its gonna cost my Oilers to keep Smyth. He's likely seeking a 4-6 year deal worth approximately 6 million (especially if he keeps up the pace towards a career high in goals and likely breaking 40 for the first time in his career). Word out of the Edmonton Sun (one of two local newspapers) is 10-12 teams that are not Edmonton that have money are willing to pony up the dough to get him. I'm hoping we can keep him at 5m, cause he's really the face of our franchise since Gretzky left and I just can't think of our team without him. Sadly reality is telling me Lowe probably trades him during the deadline if something doesn't get done soon.
